1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bancor | Protocol for Smart-tokens, solving the liquidity problem on: June 14, 2017, 09:10:08 AM
I will just start boldly. The Bancor business model is pretty close to a scam. I am sure you will not take my word for it, because this is my first post. In fact, I made this account because I find it bizarre that no one is talking about this. Let's be honest, which one of you truly tried to comprehend their mathematical proof? Not a single person who invested at least, because otherwise they would not have wasted their money. I will try to explain a little.

They collected pretty close to 400k ether. Essentially what they do, is keep .8*400k ETH = 320k ETH to themselves, and call the remaining 80k reserves. They will express this 80k in a different coin, called BNT. They assign 100 BNT to 1ETH that they received. That means there is 500BNT for every 1ETH in the reserves. Essentially, if everyone would want to convert their BNT back to ETH, they would get 1/500 ETH per BNT. Wait you say, in the white paper it says that the starting price of 100BNT will equal 1 ETH! This is true, this is where the mathematics uses a trick to hide what is going on. Their pricing formula, P=R/(S*F) ensures that the first BNT sold will be sold at a 'fair' value, namely equal to the amount of ETH you spent to buy it in the first place. After the first sell, things get worse rather quickly. Let's illustrate this by a little example:

Lets say that 10% of people who own BNT sell it back to ETH via the smart contract. For the initial price we get: P = 80k/(40m*.2) = 0.01. All looks fair. Then after the sell we get 40m*10%*0.01 = 40k,  P = 80k-40k/((40m-4m)*0.20) = 0,00556. Ouch, the price almost dropped to half value from the 10% sell-off (this is different if there are many small transactions but I will get to that later).

If people buy the same amount of BNT, this is what happens: P = 120k/(44m*0.20) = 0.01364. The increase in price is not nearly as interesting for the next person. But again, this will be lower for many small transactions.

I created a plot assuming transactions are made in small batches of BNT coins. We find that the BNT value drop VERY quickly when people start selling, and does not rise nearly as fast. Essentially this just makes BNT an undesirable coin. Another weird thing about their system is that it does not consider convexity. This means that big transactions will get very different prices than many small ones. This just does not make sense, but they don't care as they simply took your money.
http://imgur.com/a/f9yLy

If you are still not convinced, consider this. They literally admit to taking 80% of your money. All they give back is some mathematical trick based on 20% of the ether that you gave them. Do you really believe they just generated x5 value out of thin air? Sorry, but math does not work that way. I would recommend getting rid of your BNT asap, or you end up all the way on the left side of the graph. I am sorry that this news comes a bit late for some of you... I didn't read their methodology until last night Sad

Maybe now you can start to add up why the ICO was strange in various ways.

As final words, don't just believe whatever I say. Think about it for yourself. I gain nothing by convincing you of whatever I write here, I am simply sharing thoughts.

We bought into BNT not ETH. If we wanted to buy into ETH, we would have simply kept our money in ETH. It is no secret that 80% of the ETH will go towards the BNT project’s development and 20% will be kept as a reserve to ensure a minimum value per BNT. This doesn’t automatically make BNT worthless or the business model a scam, because we’re buying into Bancor’s potential (good or bad).

"Essentially, if everyone would want to convert their BNT back to ETH" - Why would we all want to convert our BNT back into ETH, especially at this stage?

i dont need complicated formulas, i payed 1 eth that is around 350 euro for 100 bnt, so i need 1 bnt to have a worth of 3.50 to breakeven, everything above is my profit, this coin will go to 10$ faster than you can say money

so im all good plus its a revulotionary project that i SUPPORT plus i make profit.

some people think theyre so smart but they dont see the obvious

It's now trading around 0.031 btc or $85 per BNT

Impossible, might be a scam, because Bancor tokens are locked for 1 week after the crowdfund

Hello Team,

I have 2 tx pending on etherscan, Its been 40 mins. and they are not going through. What should I do, do I keep refreshing?? I started sending when the ICO started. Shoulds I keep refreshing for 3 hours??

THanks

this is fcking stupid i cant even get my funds accross

Dont worry your funds wont get lost, everything is added to blockchain never get lost. Also you do not see your tokens on myetherwallet or orginial ether wallet you have to add custom token BNT
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bancor | Protocol for Smart-tokens, solving the liquidity problem on: June 12, 2017, 03:42:17 PM
For those who can't see Bancor Token in MyEtherWallet:

1. Add Custom Token
2. Address: 0x1F573D6Fb3F13d689FF844B4cE37794d79a7FF1C
3. Token symbol: BNT
4. Decimal: 18

Thanks!

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MOBILEGO Crowdfund - Decentralized Solutions on Gamecredits Mobile Store on: April 30, 2017, 08:03:40 AM
Are the MobileGo tokens going to be listed on any echanges? If yes, maybe its already known which ones?

ico just started ..lol just fucking wait.....simple as that ...!!
exchanges almost never say it before it really happens

I know, I mean will be it listed? Maybe it wont be listed on any as they already has Gamecoin... Kinda hard to understand why they need the second token and they even after some time will start rebuying and burning them... whats the reason? If the price will go up 3, 5 or more times its very unprofitable to buy them back and just burn.. whats the reason behind this... Maybe this token do not have any chance to grow in value very much...

The problem with saying it's hard to understand why they need a second token, is that you haven't read any information such as our whitepaper. If you had you would know MGO is a smart contract token using these technologies to create player to player virtual item exchanges, player run esports wager tournaments, and player to player wager matchplay. These technologies cannot be created with GAME, and MobileGo can't do what GAME does.

Speculation is fine, but first it's best if you do some research Smiley

I've read your paper, I am not speculating, just had questions. I am not very advanced in technical things so I had these questions why Game tokens could not do all.

mate pls stop  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

less tokens = value of tokens going up ....simple, 10% of profits will be used to burn tokens

Good point, I feel like idiot now lol

also keep in mind that segwit is still not locked in

viaBTC pool announced they won't signal and their hashrate went up

https://twitter.com/ViaBTC/status/856487968193642496

rumour is they have bought many of the new miners from jihan and they could still push segwit back with that

this show is not over

The amount of hashrate ViaBTC needs to stop segwit is enormous and unlikely to be possible for them in 24h to do that. So no worries about ViaBTC, more worries for any other pool to stop signalling for any reason.

it had a good run but now it's time to go short

upwards movement lost a lot of steam, now it's going down to ~8

lol the segwit haven activated yet, so those who shitting the pants shorting lol

LTC after segwit, LN and coinbase deserves to be in top 3 crypto coins. At the most optimistic way it could be second after bitcoin, but more realistic scenario that it will be very close to ethereum by market cap. So the price of LTC will be between 0,044 and 0.77 of BTC

Massive News for Litecoin:

An agreement has been made by the Roundtable of miners, devs and others that
SegWit will be implemented.

https://medium.com/@Litecoinchina/litecoin-global-roundtable-resolution-001-2017-c67b729bc06d

Does this mean that LTC support is already over 75% and that Segwit can be implemented successfully. I think it must be.

Ur problem is that u judge situation by looking at how alts perform in the markets and base ur estimate on noting but a few price tickers. Which is not reflective of big events in the bitcoinland. It reflects the stupidity of a few chinese imbeciles trying to manipulate LTC value as if they know the outcome of segwit-related events. That is a poor risk assessment strategy.

First, I don't have a problem. If there is one it is coming from the interstices of your mind. Don't project your insecurity onto me.

Secondly, SegWit has been well tested over a long period of time and has been peer reviewed i.e. low risk. Experienced devs are working on its implementation along with other innovations such as Lightning Networks. More will no doubt be joining in following the news. I understand that the work is at an advanced stage.

Thirdly, imbecility knows no national boundaries. Your invective here and in your previous posts betrays the state of your mind. Your insinuations are not backed up by fact.

Finally, why post here anyway? If you hold Litecoin you can sell now at rising prices. No, you are here for another purpose. It appears to me that you fear the about to emerge new Litecoin - and it's true other altcoins have good cause to fear it. Now go away and take your insecurities with you.

Nicely said

Segwit miner support within the last 24 hours (last 576 blocks)   431 (74.83%)

That fits here 100% lol

The Crypto Times v 0.06– Litecoin to moon? Segwit/Coinbase

https://youtu.be/5qMUTNRALXU

No moon for the chikun we are going straight to another solar system. As soon as segwit is active and coinbase adds it to their exchange the rocket will start and never stop!!!

Another solar system will not happen as segwit will not be activated any time soon so better get back to ur moms tit. There's enough time left till early fall which is when the final decision on whether the activation will take place should be made. I'm still hoping to see larger pools standing up and knocking out this moronic segwit joke. I say bitcoin is not ready for stuff like that, it's too perfect to be real.

Do you realize that you are in LTC forum here? And LTC will get segwit in few weeks. Bitcoin might get at the end of the year, might....

479/576 (83.16%) blocks signaling in the past 24 hours!

Exiting times!

That's not really important. Keep in mind that you have to watch the following line:

Segwit miner support (percentage of segwit blocks signaling within the current activation period)   4953 (67.45%)

It still has to reach 75%.

Ah, is it so? I thought that it is the past 24h that counts. Good to know!

Most of users only watched those 24 hours percentage and was very mistaken. From the begining bw pool and f2pool started supporting segwit it was clear that in this period the segwit wont be activated. At the same time ANTPOOL (the biggest blocker of segwit) cooled down their hash rate. Its understandable why - because it was clear that this period is over for segwit. Actually only because of this actions (I can call it specualtive actions) led the price go up, when it had to stay not changed or even go down a little bit. Might be miners expected that most of users will be looking only 24h percentage.

So what comes next? Next period activated about after 1 day from now and for segwit to be activated, it needs the percentage to be not less than 75 percent for about two weeks. Then we will see the segwit activation. I think miners like BITMAIN AND f2pool might try to speculate price again to go down by starting blocking segwit to buy some cheap coins again. I hope users will pay attention to the situation and wont start selling coins if so happens, better to stay calm and wait because in any way segwit will be activated, if not with miners help then with User Activated Soft Fork (UASF).

Is it good time to buy who still not did it? Well I say lets wait for new period's few days, if no blocking occurs - then buy, if blocking starts wait a little bit. There is no loss if you buy now and wait for segwit for what ever it takes, but if you buy and freak out and start selling when it goes down - you are in trouble for sure.
