Thank you so much Mr. Kano! What a nice surprise for the 'dust'! I bet wait for another year the dust won't be dust in terms of dollar value  Grin
Though I am not mining now, it's quite a fun ride with your pool. Wish you and your pool best luck! Enjoy mining while BTC price rises stably.

Hello Mr Kano,

Are you still working on it? Thanks.

Kano will hold your BTC if you don't provide an address, like he did for others in the past. He said he would send out 'dust' and held BTC by the end of this year.
Once dust is not dust any more Smiley

One thing I don't get about people who want to go to Antpoo, if you get a daily payout, won't you also pay $10 or more in transaction fees to get your payout? I actually would prefer the opposite. I would want a pool to allow you to keep your balance as long as you want until you think it is worth $10 to get your payout. Or am I not understanding how BTC transaction fees work?

I am not sure if Antpool allows for this by simply not  supplying a wallet address.

Btw, what happens here at Kano if you do not have a wallet address added? I somehow doubt your balance will be held for you. Not sure though.
Yeah still working on it - that's basically what I'm spending almost all my coding time on at the moment - will be early next year.

Got sidetracked with the October bad luck, where I ended up adding full share hashing and verification to KanoDB for all shares submitted, and also added block submission to KanoDB for all blocks found.
All that new code is 100% original by me to ensure it's a complete independent verification of the pool results - and of course will pick up any bugs/memory corruption if that ever happens in the pool code.

I'm sure anyone who has been waiting for 6 months or more for their dust will be glad they didn't get it and spend it back then Smiley
3  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: March 23, 2018, 07:26:57 AM
I sent a few miners to Bitmain in LA for repair last December. I paid BTC per request. Then they asked me to pay BCH after 2 weeks and they said they would refund BTC. Ok I paid BCH. After 3 months they still have not sent the miners back as they promised the miners would be send out within 7 working days. I wonder whether it's only me having this issue or it's typical for repair.

Obviously Bitmain is dumping all the miners and they don't care about the service any more. Dealing with these Chinese companies is really painful. No wonder people would rather pay more on eBay for miners, instead of dealing with Bitmain directly.
4  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Launches the New Antminer T9 Bitcoin Miner on: February 08, 2018, 08:32:38 AM
One third of my miners are T9. All have been running for a year perfectly. But 3 S9 have bad hash boards within a year or less. Though they didn't cost much to repair by sending to Bitmain US site, it still took some time. So I don't mind to get more T9's for less price.

I guess I might get a quick answer from this forum. My question is whether/when/how to pay tax on mined BTC. IRS requires tax for any gain even from garage sales.

Just looked at BTC.com and found next difficult level will be increased by 18% in 6 hours. Does it mean the BTC price will go up another 18% Smiley

Thanks Kano for all your work. If holding a small amount of 'dust' will keep BTC price going up, I am sure everyone will be willing sacrifice the 'dust' for big price assuming he owns more than the dust Smiley

10  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [150+ PH] SlushPool (slushpool.com); World's First Mining Pool on: December 16, 2017, 06:32:19 AM
Do you know on average how much icon your S9 mines daily on each pool?

Kanopool had very bad luck in Oct when he tried to push the pool hash rate - more hash rate and less blocks.

I'm still debating on switching to slush from kano.

I actually have one s9 on both.

I cant tell which one would be best Smiley

Hi Kano,

When will you distribute the held BTC b/c fork, not dust? Thanks.

BTW, it's nice to see this month turn around. The best pool for a lot of small miners with lots of fun Smiley

hell my first 7 amount to $2.50 in btc and i prolly have over 200+ in total dust payemnts that are adding up

The dust limit is anything under 10,000 satoshi so 0.0001 BTC which is about 6c - so no, 7 of them wont add up to $2.50, maybe about 100 random dust rewards would add up to $2.50

However, if you have lots of dust AND non-dust payouts, that means I have to manually confirm each one to work out what is and isn't sent.

If you mean you have non-payouts coz you didn't enter a payout address, then that's a different issue, but if you have a mix of them both, they'll have to wait until I do the accounting code.
You never know, they might be worth more than a few dollars by the time that's done Smiley

This month payout is 110% of PAPPS. Is PAPPS used by antpool that only pays the block, not tx fee?

Quote
Its encouraging to think we could get a 23+ size block if we get one today. That would be almost double the base reward. I think that shows that in the future when the mining rewards half and half and half, that mining will still be profitable.
Plus BTC will be worth 20kUSD by then too right?Grin

Ya the bigger block rewards easily make up for the drop in price on btc to.  and just a few of them big blocks would really help to bring up our. PAPPS% for nov

and meanwhile people mining on pools like antpool who think they have low fees are going to be paying out the nose in unpaid out tx fees that antpoo skims off the top as there network engineer tip or whatever they call it. (thats one hell of a "small" lol tip.)  lol lol

Next time antpool does gift giveaways for miners who mine with them full time, They should give away big jars of Vaseline.

Actually only a few pools have been doing very well. Check BTC.com - half with 40-60% luck for the past 3 days. As long as kanopool can crack  one block very soon, people will come back. When I joined the pool a few months ago at 40PH and slushpool was 90PH. But slushpool is at 900PH. I wish the pool can get half of what slushpool got.

Are you saying our next block will be 18+? It seems all current blocks are big. According to btc.com, the smallest is 17+ for the last 20 blocks.

Hopefully we end up cracking a block soon even with jihad trying to force the flippering and almost 50% hash rate taken off btc.

and with the high tx fees to even try and get a transaction to confirm in any reasonable amount of time seems to be makeing some huge juicy size block pay outs.

Just seen a block slush got that was freaking 21.67950116 BTC block reward and lots of other 16+ btc blocks getting hit today.

We could use a few big fat giant payouts.

Yep, that 21 block is still processing almost an hour later.  Have a few machines on slush right now and am enjoying what I'm seeing.   Kano's blocks haven't been over 16 yet.
Telling people to mine somewhere else and I wonder where that 16 number comes from?
The current work (right now) is 18.715...

With current hash rate, is it expected to find a block every 36 hours? It seems that less hash rate has better return rate for the past few months. I don't understand how it could be.

Once it was dust, now it's not. In future, hope it could be fortune Smiley

That's totally schweet, kano-san.  We all have accumulated some, usually small, amount of dust over the time we've been here.  You said you'd get around to the code changes needed to handle the dust and 'phantom' accounts accrued, and you are a man of your word. Huzzah!  Cheesy
Mine on, LAMF!!  Cool

What I was asking is with current hash rate and diff, the expected blocks should be less than 1 block per day.
But the stat shows almost one block per day.

Can someone explain to me why the number of expected blocks does not match the hash rate? Currently with 45PHs, we expect less than one block a day but Kano's stat shows almost one block per day in November.
So with diff 100%, the luck is also 100%? If the diff is 200%, the luck then is 50%? Is it right?

Luck, over time, is always 100%, assuming everything else is working properly.

That means some times luck will be good, and sometimes it will be bad.

Right now, so far this month, it's been good.  Better than average.

The last few months have been bad.  Below average.

Does anyone know how much BTC per THs per day for now? According to several BTC profit calculators, it should be about 0.0017.
