1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Growers International $GRWI on Cryptopia - Seed2Sale, Strain Chain, Tools on: November 13, 2017, 12:09:40 PM
Hi,

PC crashed while wallet was open and staking...
After restart, the wallet was not starting, with fatal error msg (windows 10).
I deleted all the files except wallet.dat and restarted the wallet-qt.
It starts to sync, but after 1-2 minutes it stops.

Here is what is shown in the db.log

Code:
file wallet.dat has LSN 1/1337702, past end of log at 1/476
Commonly caused by moving a database from one database environment
to another without clearing the database LSNs, or by removing all of
the log files from a database environment

Each row is a PCB board, and the O/X is the ASIC chip status

5  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Lowest cost way to buy bitcoin with GBP on: September 06, 2017, 09:04:23 AM
Still cheaper than the wire transfer fee.
You can use the chat on the site to get more info on rates. Maybe the fee is for credit cards and not debit cards.
6  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Lowest cost way to buy bitcoin with GBP on: September 06, 2017, 08:41:27 AM
Hi,

The easiest way is to use https://spectrocoin.com/en/signup.html?referralId=2508987656
You can link your debit/credit card and deposit GBP, USD, EUR.
I think that you are not chatged any fees since it apears as a POS buy.
Then convert it to BTC using their exhange at current rates.
You can also get a cash card from them to use it for purchases/payments using bitcoins.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blackscreen after 10 minutes of mining... on: September 05, 2017, 09:01:33 AM
Hello Bitcoin Forum!

i got issues with my mining rig.

my system:

ASROCK FM2A78M PRO3+
AMD A6 6400K Dual-Core Processor
Platimax 80PLUS 1350
8GB DDR3

so i got 3 GPU“s

first one is a R9380 STRIX . works all fine on solo mining
the another 2 are R9390 WINDFORCE if i try to solo mine with them they work for 5-15 min after them i got a blackscreen and can only restart the system...

if i dual mine its the same issue with the blackscreen

what i try to fix the problem.

15.12 driver - failed
newest driver failed
riser changed - failed
another psu - failed
more virtuall RAM - failed

if i underclock the r9390 windforce and set the setting from the miner after 100 to 80% it works longer but again with blackscreen...

what i can do..
i set already the underclock on Mem clock 950 and gpu clock to 700 and again the issue..
i changed the power limit from the power limit (%) to +50 .. again blackscreen its wayne if i give him -50 +50 or 0 ...

i dont know what to do guys please support me ... i only want that this thing work.. i dont want the 390 sols if i can only 200 is enoguh.. only should to work one day without blackscreen...

another info.
but if i try on a another PC to play games with the r9390 windforce it works fine..
i played 5 games overwatch and no lag no blackscreen..

sorry for my bad english !

and all things in your mind are here welcome

1. Check the power settings in windows and make sure the system is not going to "sleep mode" after X minutes. (Set it to ALWAYS ON
2. Have you enabled the 4G decoding in bios? If yes, make sure you have the latest AMD drivers installed

Hi,

yes, delete the folder "database" and then re-open the wallet and let it sync
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Signatum-qt "Error loading block database" on: August 02, 2017, 05:08:37 PM
Hi

Just delete the blockchain database and reopen the wallet to re-sync.

Don't delete the .dat file!!! This is your wallet!

If I remember correctly, you can get the manual at bitmains support page

I found bitmaintalk but have not manual.. need read many posts.
This is difficult for newbie in mining.
I will learn this info.
Thanks.

Antminer S9 installation manual (the only manual available by the manufacturer)

Here you go...

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Siacoin... their game plan seems scary on: July 11, 2017, 12:11:55 PM
As far as I know, the data are stored encrypted, into multiple peers (20 or more) in chuncks.
So hacking one node will get you useless encrypted data.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How much ETH and/or ETC can I mine with a single GTX 1080? on: July 03, 2017, 01:04:04 PM
I was wondering if I could use my gaming PC to mine either ETH or ETC.

Could anyone help me with an estimate of how much of each I could mine per week/month/etc?

Would I be able to use the PC at all while it is mining?

Thanks

For profit calculator (estimated) try one of the following (or both):

https://www.nicehash.com/?p=calc
https://whattomine.com/

You can use your PC while it is mining (for light stuff like browse the web, read e-mails, etc) but you cannot play games (since the GPU is used at 100% for mining)
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: HACKED !! on: July 01, 2017, 06:07:40 AM
I'd reinstall ethos, creat a brand new account for your config or just use config maker. Change ethos ssh and root passwords.

Yes Sir . Maybe I can try this. Done with SSH and root passwords changing.

The safest way is to reinstall everything, set it up with new passwords, and make sure not needed ports are close on the machine (not familiar with EthOS but I guess it is a Linux).
If the machine is already infected with some kind of trojan horse, then changing the passwords won't help you...

format and re-install everything from scratch, and never use same passwords again (or similar ones)
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PC doesn't boot with second PSU on. 6 GPUs (GTX 1070) on: July 01, 2017, 05:45:22 AM
Thank for the reply.

Yes six risers. All powered by by main PSU. Risers attached to motherboard thorough 1x PCIE which came along with the riser. its the blue USB cable connecting. Connections are okay because 3 are working and hashing.

Hi,

The riser of each card needs to be powered with the same PSU as the card.
example:

PSU1: motherboards, CPU, HDD, risers 1,2,3 and the GPUs 1,2,3 (sitting on risers 1,2,3)
PSU2: risers 4,5,6 and GPU's 4,5,6 (connected to risers 4,5,6)

DO NOT mix risers and GPU's on different PSUs!

Also if you are powering up the 2nd PSU manually, make sure it is powered up 1st! and then power the motherboard!

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining on CPU which will worth? on: June 29, 2017, 06:59:16 AM
Hello what to mine through the CPU, what will have a sence.

Is some coin which is designed to be not effective not only on the ASIC as is Ethereum, but also on the GPU?

Something what is tradeable and exist Android local Wallet app for it? Without it its little usefull for me as currency.

What about DigitalNote (XDN) or anything? I just wanna use my spare desktop(Ubuntu) /Android/VPS(FreeBSD)  time for anything usefull Wink.

Any idea to have fun and have possible sence for future?

Edit: What about Monero?

Go to https://minergate.com/
Create account (free) and download the MinerGate software.
It will mine the most profitable coin (at the moment) with your CPU and GPU
Same goes with NiceHash miner software https://www.nicehash.com/?p=nhmintro, but not that many options there.
Difference is that with Minergate you get the coins that you mine (BCN,XMR,ETH,etc etc), and with nicehash you are getting bitcoins for the coins that you mine.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Please help with strix rx 480 8G hash rate on: June 29, 2017, 06:21:44 AM
Hey guys, first time posting and just trying to get into the whole mining thing.
I have a strix rx 480 8G doing about 24mhs for ethereum and 700mhs for sia using claymore.

I keep reading of people getting at least 28 mhs by flashing with copying the 1750 strap to 2000. I've tried this but it made no difference for me, I've been playing with mem and core frequency. I can't get higher than 24 for ethereum and 720 for sia. It only goes down with different settings.
I've also been messing with the -i command for claymore and that too doesn't get me past 24mhs.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!

As I have stated in other hashrate tweaking posts...
When you are trying to get the best out of your card and see how fast it can mine, you don't use dual mining.
You have to test the card with ETH only and see the maximum hashrate it can get (with bios mod, and core speed-voltage, memory speed etc)
Once you are satisfied with the results, then you jump into dual mining.
The ETH-SIA combination is dropping the ETH hashrate a lot. If you try ETH-DCR you will see higher ETH speeds.
Again... tweak, mod, push your card using 1 coin only (ETH for your card) and when you are happy, switch to whatever dual combination you are happy with.

Hi,

Go to http://www.whattomine.com
select the number of 1080 cards you have (if you have multiple)
type in the price of your electricity per kwh (kilowatt hour)
Hit calculate...
check the results!
