its the same as the old one and the old one works with it 12v 5a

My gridseed bitcoin miner has a 12v fan and needs  12v 5a to run and i got a new 12v adapter becuse the old one was getting way to hot to the point it was melting the sticker a bit so I got a new 12v adapter with same same output as the old one and the miner is not having any of it. The fan will run but the miner will not mine and will keep giving me this 2017-04-22 18:45:28] System reseting
 [2017-04-22 18:45:29] HW error, do hardware reset. I am not going to use the old adapter because it is a fire risk and im not buying a new adapter because the one i just got was $71 nzd
can someone tell me what to do to fix this

i have it all up and running and happily mining btc thanks for the help everybody 

do i need a Raspberry Pi or something
all i do is just plug it in to my usb

do you know of any software might be able to get for it

i dont know all i know that its not being detected

if it helps im using slushpool

still not getting detected by mining programs

i did that and nothing was detected as a problem

i cant seem to connect my gridseed usb bitcoin miner to cgminer or bfgminer they both wont detect it but i know windows detects it in the device list
can someone please help or tell me what to do

it says that its for bitcoin and litecoin but i know it can mine bitcoin i haven herd about altcoin

i am very new to mining and i have just got a gridseed miner and i did try to set it up with bfgminer but got this   Failed to sanity check in lowl-vcom.c windows_usb_get_string():508   
 and when i try to use cgminer i still have no luck in getting it to detect my gridseed and i have no idea what to do i dont know what im doing wrong but its sure as hell something.
my miner dose work it comes up in the device list and it says that its all updated so i know that windows can detect it but the mining programs are not
i have tried this on my other pc and still no luck so i dont think you need this but here thay are my pc specs

pleas help me i am very new to this and i want to get into bitcoin mining
