Hi @Kano. Can you provide a clear update on dust payouts? I know it in planning, but I've some news of new updates and would like to hear from you directly.
Last year, the block payments sent also included the dust balances for those accounts that were owed dust, and were over dust in the block reward.

This year I've begun the dust cleanup, with new payout generation code, and I've already sent out plenty of BTC.....

Anyone with questions about this, best to come visit Discord via the Discord link on the web site home page.

Mine on! and help confirm the transactions Smiley

For any with their dust balance below dust, then come back and mine in the next block and you'll get the dust added on to your block reward.

I can confirm that I got a surprise deposit on my BTC account a few days and it was fully confirmed util today and can only say thank you Kano for send that dust!

Is it just me or have S9's dropped A LOT in prices since I last checked ebay? I see some going for less than $300 with and without PSU. Those used to be S7 prices not long ago. What is going on? Did I miss something?

I’m somewhat screwing myself on my electric bill right now with 2 of my miners being S7’s. I could replace them with 1 S9 and have more hash with less power consumption. S7 just aren’t worth anything  anymore for me to even feel like dealing with getting rid of them.

I have a storage locker with a bunch of outdated and inefficient miners (M3s, S7s, A742, etc) - if prices do go crazy again, they'll be sellable.

Not a bad plan. I may copy that.

If anyone wants to donate me an S7 + power supply I can give it a good home over here and put it to use.

Is there any status update on dust payments?

Does a drop in btc price usually mean a drop in hash power for btc and therefore a lower difficulty in the near future?

Given the rise in bitcoin/USD rate a couple of questions pop in my mind:

1) Should we expect to see faster miners than S9 and other similar? they've been pumping those out from the factory for quite a while now.

2) Would miners put old miners back online at these prices?

Thanks!

Anyone have an S5 or S7 for sale to add to the pool? PM me for details.

OMG! If you want a REALLY good reason to not mine on AntPoo?

So we got block 481954 at 08:22:34 UTC
It's just been confirmed an hour later with block 481955 by AntPoo

I was watching/waiting for the confirm very closely - I even switched up our main bitcoind block size to 998,888 while waiting for this block (it used to be 988,888)
The reason? By the time it was an hour waiting for a 481955, our work size was over 17.75BTC

OK all good, then what happened?
AntPoo gets block 481955, confirming our block 481954 ... but their block is ...... EMPTY!?!?! WTF?!?

Who the hell is the retard at AntPoo who runs the pool?
That's just unbelievable that they could do anything that stupid Smiley

So we're now awaiting whoever is gonna find 481956 - which would be good if it was us since our work is now ... 17.92BTC and still growing Smiley

Edit: At 09:35:46 still waiting, and now over 18BTC! Smiley

Edit2: ah well, someone else got 481956, and it was an 18.34 BTC block

I'll translate for him. I speak spanish natively. I'll ask him to message me directly so we can avoid cluttering the board with spanish messages.

So with the hashing power lost that went over to bitcoin cash, it means that in average for the network it should be taking a bit more time to mine those 12.5 bitcoins until a network difficulty update comes over. So the flow of new bitcoin will be slowed down until network diff adjustment, right?

with my tiny mining farm i'm very happy here. I probably have some dust payments here but I'm ok with waiting until Kano comes around to getting that issue resolved. Meanwhile it's just apreciating in value instead of in my hands where I could spend it too easily. LOL.

Does anyone know how much hashing power has been dimished in BTC mining after the fork?

I appreciate you keeping us informed as to the plan for B-Day, hopefully it's a non-event and it should be at least for us.

Now everything is in cloud. At one time people like to keep cash at home, maybe still, but I am getting used to do everything online Smiley

Can you please offer some alternatives for keeping BTC? Thanks.

Are mobile wallets in https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet actually local wallets? or just a frontend to something online? Would the mobile wallets described there be a good option as a local wallet? instead of running a node just for 0.1 btc or less?

Ok, really newbie question. But I will rather look stupid once that stay stupid forever.
When a new transaction is generated it goes into a block and then eventually that block is confirmed by miners. How does a transaction get more than one confirmation? is the whole block re-sent to miners or is the transaction repackaged in another block? and when is the transaction no longer confirmed again?

How much (%) of your mining income (or profit) goes back into expanding/replacing mining capacity? I know mining is for people with money but I wonder what's the smallest investment that can actually be self-sustaining in mining?

Myself I have free hosting (paid in bulk by another business of mine). but even so, the total returns on my mining are not enough to get something more than an S7 after several months, an S9 at the moment would mean putting some of my own money into this..again. So I wonder how much I should set aside (10, 50%, 100%?) to replace old hardware like S4,S5.

Question for US miners, I have a unused 20 Amp double pole breaker in my panel.  I know it will provide 220V.  Any issues hooking up my miners to a circuit with 2 hots and a ground?

That's how my three miners operate (s4,s5,s7), two 110's and a ground. Standard datacenter wiring here in Central America. that way you can get 110v for 110v equipment (like fiber-copper media converters) and 220v for servers and well miners.

Hey guys, a bit of an semi off topic question, but i'm mining with 2 S7's. My electricity is almost free.
Since the last diff increase and seeing the BTC profits halve every 3 months i'm actually thinking of quitting mining.
As getting a S9 doesn't seem to be a great ROI either.

Just selling the miners and hodling that in BTC seems to be more profitable in the long run than keeping them on.
Anybody else feels the same? Or am i just having a bit of fud?.

If your electricity is free, why stop mining? you already paid for the S7's. I have S5,S4 and S7 mining and still get some btc, not a lot but with "almost free electricity" it's hard to find a reason not to power them up.

Besides there are other ways to make money with your S7s. Selling them is but one option. msg me privately if you want more ideas.

I had two coworkers that had a issue between them and one of them insisted they fixed it and become friends. The other one wanted nothing to do with him. So the first one went to the boss with the subject and the boss said "Stop being stupidly insisting your coworker does something she doesn't want to, just do your damn job or work somewhere else!!!".

Sounds like someone here is like my insistent coworker in trying to get the pool to do something. Good thing it's a free cyberspace and someone can choose whatever pool they want to mine with.

Just pointed an R4 and S9 to the pool.  Excited to be back!  Let's get it team!  Cool  Ps. I've never updated the firmware on either rig.  Anyone recommend it?  I have heard the R4 will not hash as high, but will have less HW errors.  I have some research to do; don't want to clog up this thread with posts covered elsewhere...  Pss. This pools app on my iPhone is great!  I love the BLOCK SOLVED notifications.  Mine on!

huh? what iphone pool app?

I'm looking to buy bitcoin (sold an old miner) thru something easy to use in my country like localbitcoin. However the rates there for buying are not good using paypal, they are better with other methods but it's hard to get my USD to those other methods.

Any advice? where to post this? or what exchange to use? send me direct messages if you with so we don't mess up this forum with non kanopool stuff.
