1  Bitcoin / Mining support / Broken S17+ PSU on: May 20, 2021, 05:29:25 AM
Hi my S17+ PSU is broken, First it was making the breaker go, now its just dosent do anytning on 1 plug, the other is still making the 1 fan spinning.

Getting a replacement seems impossible as they are not in stock anywhere. Is they fixable by any Electronic mekaniks?

I have lots of AWP 3+ PSU is there anyway to use 2 of those in parallel for the S17+

Just started getting this error on my miners, using ethermine.org as pool.

ETH: Received error: {"id":16,"jsonrpc":"2.0","error":{"code":27,"message":"Illegalparams"}}

Anyone know what that is?

Some of my rigs has begun to close the miner right after the pool is defined. If i plug a screen/or dummy in the onbard GPU (and therefore enabling it) it work fine.

It even do it on my gamer PC with a screen connected to the GPU (GTX 1080ti) very annoying that i have to have a dummy in the onboard gpu giving me a screen i can't control.

I see it on Asus mb B250 mining exptert, Asus Strix Z370 and Asus Strix Z270 with diffrent CPUs, all with Nvidia GPU. Any suggestions to running without the dummy?

Try to set "max performance" in "Intel(R) Graphic Power Plan ..." @ Power Option...Advanced settings

It already is.

Download and install the latest driver for the Intel onboard GPU.

THANK YOU! it worked like a charm Smiley

Also the vcore is now locked and grey in msi afterburner. is the cards not getting enough power?
Are you setting your clocks with MSI AB? If you are, then try overdriventool.

Just tried OverdriveNTool 0.2.6 its the same, if i set mem at 2000 or 2100 its almost exactly the same hashrate.

Hi.

Just updated from the blockchain driver til version 18.8.2. I did mod the firmware long time ago. I was getting 28.5mhz (Claymore ETH only 11.Cool with mem at 2100. now i get about the same at 2000, but going to 2100 does nothing. Also the vcore is now locked and grey in msi afterburner. is the cards not getting enough power?

Building miners, this will take loooooooot of time in a low resource system, I strongly suggest you to take a beer (better two) and relax a while. Your Minera will be ready after this.

I cleaned it with compressed air, and now its been running for a day. I cleaned it about a month ago so did not think it would make any difference, but for now it seems to run. The is still 81C but fans are only on half, so not sure how to fix that. Dont really want to cut wires.

looks like you hashboards are okay, but 81 degrees is far from good for lifetime. When i put my S9s in 30 degrees they still don't exceed 75 degrees.
Is there no block on inside/outside air?

No and they have been running at 81C all the time. its like it wants to be 81C, it can just turn up the fans but it don't.

Have you checked the kernal log.  Use the menu at the top of that page and hit Miner Administration and check log for clues

I can't seem to find any clue. The miner is now running at 4ths 2 chains are not running 6 and 8, 7 are running.

Hi.

My S9 14T has totaly stopped mining, the hashboards seems fine, the box is out of warranty. Can i change something to get it running again?

Hi, someone has got shipping notification for APW3++ Nov. batch power supplies? Or D3 combined to APW3+ Nov. batch?

Cheers

I have 5 units from 1-15 november batchs

guys i just received a defective D3 unit, will bitmain pay for the return shipping costs?? there return process seems poor

Definitely try inspecting whats wrong first, you dont want to send the whole device, it will cost a lot, depending where are you located.

I am in the UK mate- the top hashboard is loosing its performance and throwing X instead of O its dropping to around 13Ghz. from 19.3
Sounds like Heat Hombre. These D3's are hot runnin bastards and they DON'T like running over 70c. Reset it and run your fans at 100%. I honestly think they are way hotter than S9's. A misfiring hash board, HW errors and xxxx's id very symptomatic of 70 plus c in the chips.

She is running at low 60's across all chips Sad im at 100% and it's in a very cool enviroment, so i am lost Smiley

That being said, she is sitting back at 19 for over 4 hours now ! Cheesy
I think these 19Gh/s units are just overclocked to the tits. I'm gonna down clock mine. Seems to be causing a lot of issues for a lot of folks.

yes, they OC it
and its fucking hot. even in AC and proper ventilation.
in couple of hours, too many XXXXXX and one board losing its mind.

what i did, down-clocked to 500Mhz. Now running fine, temp down almost 8 deg C

What's the hashrate after downclocking?

18,008 ghz

stable so far
Elapsed
2d4h17m3

Fan set auto, running 47xx RPM. Highest Chip Temp : 79deg, was 92deg Celcius

I have my 5x D3 running at 17Ghz now, 4 of them are at speed out of the box, one was at 19ghz, i downclocked it to 17ghz. They are all 19,3Ghz. Will try your settings at 18ghz if they are stable at 17ghz tomorrow.

Got my first D3 running for 24 hours now, It has already failed 3 times with 2 different hash boards showing XXX in ASCI status, gone after a reboot, update to latest firmware did not help. Is this D3 just fubar from the start? Temps are all normal.

Update, i got 2 more miners setup today, they are also at default frequency setting, but are only hashing at 17ghz frequency at 487 the first are hashing at 19ghz with frequency at 537, both can't be default? All temps are below 70C, i sat fanspeed at 85%

2nd miner running less then 1 hour already has Xes
