1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Safest way to keep bitcoins? on: February 07, 2018, 01:49:36 AM
A way to safely hold bitcoin is to have multiple wallets, don't put all your eggs at the same basket. You can also buy hard wallet so you dont have to worry of your account being hacked, also always be vigilant because you might be a victim of phishing, be careful when logging in to a public computer, also use VPN or proxy servers when logging in to your account with a public wifi connection, your account may also be hacked that way.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: effect of china on bitcoin on: January 30, 2018, 08:30:03 AM
China banning btc can have minimal effects, but I don't think it will affect the price of btc that much, after all even if btc is ban in a certain like china, we still have huge amount of chinese investors, you can always do ways of accessing it such as using VPN.
3  Other / Meta / Re: No more signature campaigns for Junior Members - Asking for a grace period on: January 30, 2018, 12:32:11 AM
As a Jr. Member who is currently at a disadvantage in the current system, I aggree that this can create positive things, but I think it's a little too unfair for the new members or Jr. Members. I mean just think about it. We have to seriously crawl our way to the top, and what if I make a legit, helpful, merittable post and no one noticed it? Isn't that a little too unfair? Many efforts can be wasted just because you couldn't appreciate or you fail no notice a good post. What are moderators are for?

EDIT: while the previous member of this forum has it easy, just meeting their quota per post, the new members have it rough, it's really hard to get accepted in signature campaigns right now. It's like they're discriminating new members.
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction. on: January 29, 2018, 11:17:55 AM
This usually starts when someone looses his money/BTC in a gamble it happened to me once, I loose a couple of btc then I lost all of them trying to get back what I lost on the previous game. Never do that!, in gambling you have to learn to be contented, and to not gamble with your feelings, gambling is an easy money, but it can also cause you to loose them all
5  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin really secure on: January 29, 2018, 06:36:17 AM
bitcoins are safe, the only downside is the prices, because bitcoin values are unstable. The only thing you have to worry about is hackers, hacking your btc wallet, please be careful on phishing sites, you can find preventive measures in the net, and please don't give your email on anonymous persons.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reason for Bit Coin Price Boom in 2017? on: January 29, 2018, 06:22:57 AM
the reason that btc skyrocketed is because, many countries and companies and organizations slowly recognizes bitcoins and many transactions are made using bitcoins, specially because December is a Christmas season. So yeah, and I hope btc prices will grow bigger.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Drugs with Bitcoin ? on: January 29, 2018, 06:16:10 AM
First of all there are two kinds of drugs, the one that is legal and the illegal. Drugs doesn't mean that it's bad or what, people always use drugs, such as pain killers etc. now the illegal ones are another story, I've never experience buying illegal drugs at any currency or never have I ever used any kind of illegal drugs, I'm in the philippines btw so weed is considered illegal here. But if you want to buy drugs using bitcoin there's always silkroad.

you're practically anonymous when in btc transactions so if you get scammed it's hard to trace your scammer
bitcoin prices are not that stable, sometimes it can skyrocket and sometimes the price can go down just like now,
you can do trading or other business as a part time job but btc is far too unstable to be a fulltime job just in my opnion.
And lastly you have no assurance in bitcoin, in how long they will exist or will it be popular or it will be obsolete in the near future.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can I protect my self from being hack of bitcoin on: January 27, 2018, 05:20:18 AM
First thing to remember to avoid being a victim of hackers is, don't trust people easily, maybe you gave them some infos about your account or something, and regarding the victims wallet, I think Exodus is a secured wallet, he maybe a victim of phishing sites, to avoid that always check the URL of the page you are visiting, example, if you go in to a certain site and the name is spelled wrong, or the URL is like an IP address ex. 192.168.23.0 or something like that dont continue loging in, and dont give any information specially your user name and password or just your email. You can always check the beginners guide for more information about security. And also lastly if you are going to pay btc it's more secured to use escrow.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in 2018 on: January 26, 2018, 04:14:29 PM
From my Point of view bitcoins is starting to get acknowledge little by little by many countries, many companies accept bitcoins as payments, online shops etc. although not all are good news but, I think this year will be a good one for bitcoin, as many countries accept crypto, the price will sure be higher this year.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can any government ban Bitcoin? on: January 20, 2018, 02:04:32 AM
Actually China already banned bitcoin, so yeah. but I think any country couldn't do anything about controlling them, because bitcoin is decentralized, and correct me if I'm wrong but, I think no organization or company has control over them.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Difference between Bitcoin and real money? on: January 15, 2018, 06:58:30 PM
Lets start with the simplest answer, the difference between the two is bitcoin has a unpredictable prices it can go up or down that's why it's good for investment because if the price go down you can buy it for a cheap price and then sell it once the price goes up, it's simply a buy and sell concept.
And the transaction rates are cheap, not like in banks and stuff bitcoin offers cheap transactions if you exchange it with other currency usually you get it with no deductions unlike going to a money changer.

The other good thing about it is it keeps you anonymous, it is secured, and it's fast it's easy, creating a virtual wallet is very easy
and it is accessible to everyone. Bitcoins are not owned buy the government or any single entity, which means you can't control it.

In terms of gambling I don't have any experience in those yet,
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I invest in Bitcoin? on: January 10, 2018, 01:40:41 PM
Well it depends on you, If you're a risk taker and you're familiar with the bitcoin economy, you have a great chance. But if you're a new guy I suggest you study the market first, learn more about bitcoin economy, the market, and you have to be informed everytime so if the price can go down you can buy a lot and trade.
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where do you post for signature campaign? on: January 05, 2018, 05:57:08 AM
Good day Smiley I'm new to signature campaign and I just want to clarify a few things,
I know that you have to follow the rules and stuff, I've read about it.

But I'm quite confuse on where do you post during a signature campaign, do
the campaign manager create polls or topics and all your post are just limited to that section?
or you can post anywhere you want and you get paid by that? also, how do I know
if I got accepted to a signature campaign?

This question should be moved to the Beginners & Help or Meta board, as it has nothing to do with discussion about Bitcoin.

You'll know if you are accepted into the campaign as the topic where you applied should have a reply by the campaign moderator that you were accepted. Additionally, most campaigns have a link to a spreadsheet that you can check to see if you were accepted and added.

You can post anywhere except for boards that the campaign manager specifies in the campaign topic as being invalid for payments. Technically, you can post anywhere you like for campaigns, but you won't be paid for posts made in the boards that are specified. For example, the campaign may state "You will not be paid for posts made in Gambling, Games & Rounds, Meta, and Micro Earnings". This just means that if you post in any of these boards, your post won't count towards your payment at the end of the week/month/payment period.

Thank you sir and sorry for posting it here, I thought it was on topic because it's still related to bitcoins.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is BTC for you? on: January 05, 2018, 05:50:44 AM
for me bitcoin is like a bubble or something, because it suddenly came out, and then suddenly the price is high, this lead me on trying to learn what is this bitcoin and I found apportunities to be able to get a small amount of money from it. My friend introduced me to bitcoin, I noticed him posting replies to this forum site and he said that I can earn a little bit in it, so now I'm here, hoping to learn more from it Cheesy

18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Be a programmer or gain bitcoin? on: January 04, 2018, 12:55:52 PM
What is more efficient? Be a programmer than gives you huge salaries for every project and codes? Or a Bitcoin trader, earner, etc.?

Well lets's say you taught yourself calculus when your were 8 years of age, and wrote a compiler at 16, and then went to U, and studied advanced math for 4+ years, U may become a 'programmer'

Look at BUTERIN of Ethereum, wrote ETH at 19 years, of age, won programming game contests at 14 years of age,

If your not a child prodigy by the time you were 14 years old, and certainly not an expert at math, or you didn't try to learn calculus on your own at 12, you have a snow ball in hell's chance of ever become a 'programmer'

There is simply too much to learn, especially the block-chain biz here cryptography at master-level math, bitcoin written in C++, obscure at that all the most arcane data structures to be found, this is an old programmers game, or a genius like Buterin

IMHO the majority of so called 'programmers' here at best might be running miners, or compiling software downloaded on github, but they're not programmers.

BITCOIN is combo of TOR, and TORRENT, and Discrete-MATH, and ETHERNET, and WEB, and database,  it pretty much brings in all of computer science, I couldn't imagine someone without 10+ years on COMP-SCI being able to seriously grasp this shit.

Again, none of this is a problem if your 16 years old, and you already wrote your own C++ compiler in GO, without anybody's help, including all the code generation, I think it only took Stallman about 20 years to write GCC/C++, and he too is/was a genius

...

Yes, to answer your question if you were a programmer, you could 'clone' your own BTC and hype it and get rich, if you buy this shit, you will most likely end up a pauper.

Most ppl have a skill, its best they focus on their own skill, and intelligently invest their money, the number of ppl who get rich in BTC is a joke, most of the rich are ppl who were here in 2011 and got their coin for free, the ppl day-trading the majority here you see on this forum, are never going to make more money than a guy with a paper route.

The problem with BITCOIN is that its way beyond the shoeshine boy stage, now every moron on earth thinks he get rich on the bitcoin wave, and this always ends badly for all.

cloning your bitcoins could be almost impossible, because now one company or organization is managing bitcoins, it would be a difficult job hacking it, when I say difficult I mean VERY DIFFICULT! that's why in the silk road it is the most preferable way of payment. you can't just hack in to a system just because you are a programmer, hacking takes SKILLS, I know about programming a little, and I still dont know how to hack.

I'm both actually  Grin I study BS Computer Science I have a fair knowledge in VB.net, Java, HTML,CSS,Java Script and C++ and now I'm trying to learn things about bitcoins, because I though that, it would be an awesome par-time job, while I'm finishing my studies.
