voting block 333333 solved. voting results???
New logo wins! 98% Old logo was pretty ugly http://btcs-voter.comVoting for new logo will be fun. Set a reward in BTCS now and when price go up, many many logo submissions will come. How would that work exactly? Would it be a bounty-based logo contest?

I think bitcoin.com is a pishing site.
If you write bitcoin.com, it will be changed to bitcoin.org(at least happened in the past)
How is it a phishing site? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) It's owned by Roger Ver. it's pretty much the same as this forum, but a lot more quiet ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) I tried to sign up a few times, but it never once sent me the confirmation email. ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) It is not a phishing site. haha. Roger Ver is the real deal.

I like Google, but generally the larger an organization grows the more difficulty it becomes to resist government meddling, until it grows large enough to step into the shoes of the governments it serves.
Large centralized entities inevitably become a threat to free people...or assist those that are a threat to free people. Decentralized autonomous entities could be the fix.
Maybe.

I still think that despite the spotlight Bitcoin will get from Banks exploring the use of blockchain, the real winner isn't Bitcoin.
Infact, i'm pretty sure that since the January low, we have already had a new player in Bitcoin, most probably a bank and what used to be 'the people's currency' will once again become more and more centralised.
I feel the same, bitcoin is not in the middle of things. Blockchain is. I think that all banks want is to cut off blockchain, destroy bitcoin and create their own coins. Just like CitiBank is doing now: http://techcrunch.com/2015/07/07/citibank-is-working-on-its-own-digital-currency-citicoin/The blockchain is only as strong as the network hash used to confirm its blocks added to that point (e.g., cumulative difficulty). I doubt any alternative blockchain will become more secure, ergo more valuable, than Bitcoin. The banks may want to cut off and destroy Bitcoin but the genius of its design increases the difficulty of doing so the more of a threat it becomes. Banks may be coming around to this new reality.

The list will one day be made of bitcoin early-adopters, not necessarily Bitcoin CEO's, and their identities will be represented by a string of alpha-numeric characters because Forbes (or anyone else) will never know who they are.

I like the graphic too. Good job of showing how to vote. What block are we on now anyway?

Thanks for the explanation of the shortcomings of decentralized forums. I've always been curious why they haven't blown up and this seems like the actual reason. Could create a market opportunity if someone could address the issues Theymos pointed out.
The question is, how. It would be impossible to remove things such as bots, spam or other bad things in a decentralized forum as there would (by concept) be no moderation. It would rely on responsibility by the posters on the forum. The internet isn't responsible. I am not suggesting bitcointalk do anything but hypothetically speaking maybe a market based solution like requiring some kind of micropayments to post or participate (see email micropayments concept [http://www.coindesk.com/new-email-service-fights-spam-bitcoin-micropayments/]).

Apologies if this has been asked, but any plans on an iOS version?

Decentralized forum software has existed since before Bitcoin. The most successful example that comes to my mind is Freenet's FMS. However, since decentralized forums can't have normal moderation, using them generally requires more responsibility and work from readers. The vast majority of people don't want to do this, which is one big reason why decentralized forums are very obscure. (Another reason is that there are very very few developers working in this space, so the tools are often not so great, both from a usability standpoint and in general. IMO Freenet is very unlikely to actually be secure in the face of serious attack, for example.)
Increasing fault-tolerance is a long-term goal, but (re)creating a truly decentralized and uncensorable forum is outside of bitcointalk.org's scope.
Thanks for the explanation of the shortcomings of decentralized forums. I've always been curious why they haven't blown up and this seems like the actual reason. Could create a market opportunity if someone could address the issues Theymos pointed out.
