Is it affiliated with bitcointalk.org? The topics and sections are exact copies of this site. Are the sites merging? I created an account, but wasn't sure if there was supposed to be a connection between the two sites or if they are completely separate.

I think bitcoin.com is a pishing site.
If you write bitcoin.com, it will be changed to bitcoin.org(at least happened in the past)

I'm getting a website there they show it as a LLC in the legal - https://www.bitcoin.com/legalSo not quite sure what their website is really meant for. On exchanges and wallet it appears they likely got paid to promote a certain product over other choices looking at site.

Is it affiliated with bitcointalk.org?
No. forum.bitcoin.com is created by Roger Ver, and it's just another Bitcoin forum. That website is in no way affiliated with bitcointalk.org

How is it a phishing site? It's owned by Roger Ver. it's pretty much the same as this forum, but a lot more quiet

I signed up, and it worked fine for me. A lot less traffic than bitcointalk which is to be expected since it's new. But in the longrun I think it will become more popular, since it is bitcoin.com. This is where newbies will flock to, I'm speculating.

I don't think they send the email to you right after you sign up. It took around 10 hours after I registered for the confirmation email to arrive.

It's just a forum that mirrors the sections of Bitcointalk. So we have a number of people from Bitcointalk that registered on a forum that mimicks this one, so it probably won't last for long. Most of them probably registered just so they can take the username they use here.

I've waited a number of days now, and still nothing, not even in my spam box... It's ok, I would rather play here.

A few also used usernames of trusted members here, for scamming purposes. Hopefully the forum won't last long.

I suppose that any trade done with anyone who claims is a trusted member here should always have a signed message from them that proves their identity. I know that most escrows use pgp signed messages to prove their identity, and I think they will do the same on that forum as well.

It's basically like advertising since these rewards have the purpose of attracting people.

I don't believe the forum will last very long simply because there is no need for it right now. There is more than enough on this forum for the Bitcoin community, the only thing I can think it would win on is up time.
