2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / VeChain China Hustle scam is starting to fall apart on: July 14, 2018, 11:49:20 AM

As pointed out here...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4438258.new#new

..to be careful of Chinese scams.  It was a failed blockchain company which was around since 2015 that realized that they could finally make some money with an ICO because of the crypto boom in late 2017.  They said they were 100 team strong and developing since 2015 but deliver a blockchain which is a consortium chain ripoff of Ethereum.  Companies and institutions calling them out on fake partnerships such as BMW and Oxford.  They've pumped their prices with fake volume washtrading on a scam Chinese exchange LBank which at one point did around $100 Million VEN per day!!  Their claim that they are going to have trillions of transactions and be the most used Blockchain was all garbage marketing to steal money from dummies.  This will only get worse.

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Chinese Shitcoins are destroying crypto on: July 12, 2018, 03:34:01 PM

We went from having NEO worth $0.50 and nothing else from the Chinese to literally hundreds of Chinese shitcoins flooding the market.  Vaporware Chinese shitcoins that do nothing but scam artists like Sunny Lu of VeChain claming they are going to be the most used Blockchain when they launch doing trillions of transactions based on fake partnerships or NEO claiming they are going to be running the smart economy in China.  All bullshit.  These tokens are banned in China in the first place.  Then they airdrop small amounts of the supply like Ontlogy, TheKey, etc drive up the price with speculation and dump on you.

They give you vaporware and you give them Bitcoin and ETH.  Chinese people don't even invest in Chinese meanwhile we have people who think that hundreds of these vaporware Chinese scams are breakthrough technology.  This is destroying crypto.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / VeChain and the China Hustle on: June 08, 2018, 02:15:42 PM

What the hell has happened to crypto?  If you look at the top 200 coins, like 50 of them are now Chinese whereas a year ago, you basically had NEO.

And take a look at VeChain.  Nobody on their team can talk about anything technical.  Sunny Lu sounds almost as bad as Justin Sun.  He says they're written code for a blockchain from scratch but it looks like they ripped off large chunks of Ethereum and the whole EVM.  Also, most of the trading that has pumped prices for VeChain is fake volume on LBank.  Check CMC.

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / HoloChain might be about to have a RaiBlocks/Nano type of run on: May 05, 2018, 02:43:03 AM
Do early RaiBlock/Nano investors remember December?

  • You could only get RaiBlocks on Mercatox and Bitgrail and they were shady as hell and always down.
  • Everyone kept saying it was a pump and dump.
  • It was doing the most volumes on 2 tiny exchanges - like 3-5 million per day.

Feels like HoloChain is doing exactly the same thing.

I posted this when RaiBlocks/Nano was at $2-$4 and it ran to $34+ before having all kinds of problems with the exchange hack and the market crash:

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Substratum is scam vaporware on: April 29, 2018, 02:49:16 PM
After a 4 month delay, they release github code that can be compiled for a  vaporware software that allows you to do the following:

  • Allow you to set the DNS - that is all it does.
  • There is no Substratum network that that the "node" software connects to
  • It doesn't even act like a simple VPN, your IP is revealed publicly

They hyped up saying CNN was doing a documentary on them but then said it was cancelled because CNN is not covering cryptos anymore.  So it was supposed to be on Fox News.  Cancelled.  Then on Fox Business.  But it actually turns out to be a 30 second Paid infomercial for a vaporware product

This team is scamming you if you think its going to achieve one of the most ambitious goals in crypto of a decentralized internet with hosting of sites by allocating computing power and resources across nodes through a process of machine learning (their claim) when it took them months to deliver complete vaporware

They have no technical skills, no product and are using a shilling campaign, infomercials and paying John McAfee to promote vaporware:

Substratum CEO is preoccupied with price and buy an sell walls instead of the product

Substratum CEO has no idea what open source is:

   https://imgur.com/a/PiQNo

  • CEO's is a University of Phoenix graduate who only seems to have a web development background
  • CEO's experience is working at OverridePro which has exactly 2 developers

Be careful of this project.  There are so many other shady things they have done.  Like they were out of the top 100 and dropping out of visibility and suddenly changed their supply on CMC and started pumping again with the fake CNN documentary news.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / 10 BILLION USD of Ripple moved and ready to be dumped? on: March 17, 2018, 04:37:17 PM
Someone is moving $10 BILLION USD worth of Ripple XRP like it's play money.  Maybe they are about to dump it.

https://twitter.com/coincrunchin/status/975018130387886080?s=19

There have been massive dumps of more than 500 Million XRP in January documented by Koreans who captured screenshots and account details.  You need to translate below using Chrome/Firefox plugin:

https://steemit.com/kr/@koreancrypter/4pgssf

There is still 69 Million XRP left in this guys wallet after he was done dumping.

All this talk about 35K of stolen Bitcoin but Ripple is such hot garbage from the very start.

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Please VOTE for RAIBLOCKS on Binance on: December 31, 2017, 01:59:58 PM
As you know RAIBLOCKS  (XRB) is breakthrough future tech coin that is the fastest, without fees or miners while being completely decentralized.

There is currently a vote for coin of the month on the worlds biggest crypto exchange and Binance and RaiBlocks is neck in neck with a mass mobilized Japanese effort to get Experience Points (XP) listed.  If you are invested in RaiBlocks and love it, please go and vote.

You have to buy some Binance token (BNB) with ETH and it cost .1 BNB token to vote.  Keeping a couple of BNB is a good investment anyway because it pays for fees in the world's biggest exchange and it is appreciating.

Anyway .1 BNB is a few dollars,  that might get RaiBlocks quickly listed in the world's biggest exchange soon so please support it.

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / NANO formerly known as RaiBlocks (XRB) is going to be a top 10 coin on: December 21, 2017, 05:52:37 AM
RAIBLOCKS  (XRB) is amazing.  It is what a crypto currency should be.  Once you use it, you are in awe and want to buy as much as you can when you see it at under $5.  It seems that is what everyone does because it like $0.10 a few weeks ago.

It was designed for one thing and one thing only: to be currency that allows the transfer of value.  It does that better and faster than anything else.  Yes, even faster than a centralized bank coin like Ripple (XRP) with it's validators or IOTA with it's centralized coordinator.  It's amazing to have multiple monitors and watch yourself send it from and exchange and get it in in your wallet at the blink of an eye.

I only hold a few coins long term (BTC, XMR, ETH) but this got me hooked right away.  How is this not a top 5 coin right now?  It's already doing what Lighenting Network promises right now!  Imagine once the major exchanges have it, it'll be the standard way to transfer value from one exchange to another, instantaneously and without fees.   I think this gives it the greatest potential for real world adoption in crypto once there is a mobile wallet that connects to a remote node.

It has some issues like the desktop wallet has trouble syncing and you have work around that.  There are also open questions about how it would handle spam transactions.  But it's amazing that RaiBlocks has jumped into the top 50 without shilling and hype and only available in 2 tiny exchanges.  When this hits a major exchange or two this will be a top 10 crypto.  With further development and better UI clients/mobile client and some marketing, Raiblocks could be a challenger to the throne.

Also one of the great things about XRB is that it was fairly distributed.  A lot of people earned their Rai solving captcha.  It seems there were Venezuelans doing this and it's great that the meteoric rise in value is going to some who acquired them.

I usually don't get excited about alts because almost every single alt is hype, a scam or not a working product.  But having a crytpo provides utility and does a single thing like magic has gotten me excited.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Bitmain Cash (BCH) has the slowest transactions ever, 1 block every 2 hours now on: October 23, 2017, 02:42:59 AM
Bitmain Cash (BCH), you know the one Jihan and Roger Ver's lovechild which was supposed to be the new Bitcoin is creating a block every 2 hours.  A block hasn't been mined for 1 1/2 hours now.  It's the fucking slowest crypto of all time  Grin
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / So ETH price just passed a falling BCH price on: October 13, 2017, 05:23:13 AM
Felt like just a few weeks ago ETH was like $250 and BCH was like $600.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / BITCOIN CASH is the Real BITCOIN, no wait BITCOIN S2X is the Real BITCOIN! on: October 12, 2017, 04:10:05 PM

I don't see a lot of posts from these confused Bitcoin Cash supports who seemed to have crawled up under a rock.  Most of the same people who were touting BCH would overtake Bitcoin are now saying Segwit2X (S2X) is the going to be the real Bitcoin.

With the fork coming in November, it's important to remember that if you followed their advice you probably lost a lot of money.  You really don't want to bet against the default S1X Bitcoin chain that is supported by the best group of Bitcoin developers over 8 years and counting, who have the largest support from the community of users  and not a chain supported by ONE developer that has the support just a few companies and the the Mining Cartel.

It's sad that a lot of newbies to Bitcoin lost money following their advice and hopefully that is not repeated.

Flippening is coming. You've been warned.

Bitcoin Cash is the true Bitcoin.

I will be immediately liquidating some of them yes, and continue to liquidate as the market asserts itself based on the fact that users want low fees and fast confirmations, and a Bitcoin that can scale.

Segwit is the final nail in the coffin of BSCore/Segwit Coin hostile takeover attempt and subversion of Bitcoin to continue our slave society. RIP.

Long live Bitcoin Cash, the REAL Bitcoin envisioned by genius Satoshi Nakamoto designed to provide us with financial sovereignty.

BCC is in total agreement with Satoshi's Whitepaper.  SegWit is a wild deviation very far indeed from the whitepaper.  Why do people insist on calling Core's Bitcoin the 'real' bitcoin.  Bitcoin Cash is going to rule because on chain scaling will prove fine while Core Blockstream's altcoin will burn in flames.  Don't sell your BCC.

Block 481615!!!  Bitcoin Cash is now the longest chain!!  Bitcoin Cash IS Bitcoin!
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / BITCOIN CASH is probably DYING on: October 04, 2017, 11:12:35 AM
Bitcoin Cash seems to be in a death spiral.  It doesn't have enough hashrate, well sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't.  The miners are gaming the Emergency Difficulty Adjustment (EDA) and you sometimes you don't get a block in hours and hours.  Miners are jumping back and forth between chains to trigger the EDA and game the system for fast blocks and easy money.  Sometimes you have ~50 blocks in one hour.

This is creating a scenario of high inflation where you have a a lot more coins that are mined and dumped.  Coins that there is a lack of demand for.  So the price is dropping.  50 blocks in an hour with their EDA isn't what Satoshi designed for a coin that touts itself as being faithful to Satoshi's original design.

Add to that Bitcoin Cash supporters are supporting Segwit2X for no other reason than their hatred of Bitcoin Core.  The crazy thing is, this might effectively kill off Bitcoin Cash.  First the downward price trend of Bitcoin Cash might also not just be the crazy block times and inflation above but more BCH supporters will be selling at least some BCH to get BTC so they get both Segwit1X and Segwit2X at the fork.   This trend probably will continue.

Additionally, if there is a fork Segwit1X and Segwit2X will be competing for Hash Rate and I am not sure where that leaves BCH which already struggles with hashrate at times especially if the price downward trend continues.

Bitmain seems to be doing what it can to save it's baby, accepting only BCH for its miners and I now see BCH advertisements in places like Blockchain.info.  It feels like BCH is on life support.

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / STRATIS Pumping again...be careful on: September 10, 2017, 02:45:27 PM
With the Chinese stance on ICO bringing down Chinese smartcontract platforms, it seems that people have found a reason to pump Stratis.  I'd be really careful - posted some of this before in other forums.

  • For a C# smart contract platform (using a language that a ton of people already know well), development community and technical talk in forums is non-existent (look at early Ethereum technical discussions in reddit, there is NOTHING anywhere for Stratis)
  • the CEO talks a lot of fluff and provides virtually zero technical knowledge
  • there seem to be like maybe 1-2 developers behind it, that's it
  • the full node has been downloaded maybe by a dozen people, total number of downloads for all versions is tiny for a top #20 crypto
  • virtually non-existent communication from the development team
  • a lot of non-technical people who seem to have bought it pumping it with fluff articles, blogs and youtube video
  • Hype about releasing Breeze Wallet pumps up the price months back, then never released, then release hype then delay, months later we get hype again

Also this guy did a really good research on a lot of red flags with Stratis, you should read it:
