1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Tether USD centralized token? on: January 16, 2022, 04:09:54 PM
https://www.marketwatch.com/story/stablecoin-issuer-tether-freezes-three-addresses-holding-160-million-of-assets-upon-law-enforcement-request-11642114717

https://www.theblockcrypto.com/post/129133/tether-freezes-over-1-million-usdt-single-address

2 cases this year alone.

Does it mean that this cryptocurrency token is centralized and it violates one of the most important fundamentals of cryptoccurency - decentralization?

What are your thoughts on this?

3  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Trust Wallet - is it secure? on: March 13, 2021, 06:20:21 AM
Hi there,

Anyone here using Trust Wallet? On the website it says it's a decentralized and fully open source wallet (I have not checked the code) where individual has a full control over their assets. But the problem is it does not allow to export (or even view) private keys, so how safe and secure this wallet actually is?

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Which wallet do you think is the best? on: September 02, 2020, 01:30:04 PM
Which wallet do you like the most? Personally I really like Exodus, the only con is that it's not fully open source, but other than that it's a great wallet!

Are there any wallets which allow you to have multiple addresses?

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Do you trust USDT? on: February 09, 2020, 09:14:42 PM
USD Tether is a Bitfinex issued ERC-20 token which is claimed to be backed by dollar at 1:1 ratio. There are controversial opinions about this and some say it's a scam.

Do you trust USDT or believe it might be a scam?

12  Economy / Trading Discussion / Bank asking to provide additional details regarding my activity on: October 02, 2019, 05:03:08 PM
Hi there,

I am trading Bitcoin on LocalBitcoins and similar websites. My bank just sent me an email asking me to provide some details regarding the transactions in my account:

- Please explain the origin of the funds received from *Name Surname* (what goods/services the funds have been paid to the account for) and provide relevant documentation (contracts, invoices)

- Explain what kind of relationships you have with *Name Surname*

- what business activity I am engaged in

- From *date* you have sent *amount* to Kraken, Payward Ltd. Please explain the purpose of such transactions.

People send me money to my bank account, I send them their coins. What kind of explanation should I provide to these questions to ensure the sustainability of my account? Especially for the first question; we do not have any contracts, and the only documentation I can get is the invoices from the exchange. Should I be completely open with them or should I try to hide that I am selling cryptocurrency? Maybe there are someone who have had similar experience?

Edited: the country I am located in, crypto is completely legal.
13  Economy / Trading Discussion / crypto exchange friendly european banks on: September 04, 2019, 04:50:07 PM

which banks in EU are crypto friendly, meaning that they allow payments in and out of cryptocurrency exchanges and do not give you any hassle?
14  Economy / Currency exchange / 🔥🔥🔥 TRADE YOUR BTC TO PAYPAL & FIAT CURRENCIES TO BTC HERE 🔥🔥🔥 on: May 14, 2019, 08:06:43 PM

BITCOIN TO PAYPAL & FIAT CURRENCIES TO BITCOIN

Hello everyone,

I am offering Bitcoin to PayPal and FIAT currencies to Bitcoin (or any other cryptocurrency) exchange services.

In other words, I am buying your BTC and paying with PayPal or selling you BTC for FIAT currencies.

🌟 Bitcoin to PayPal exchange 🌟

Your BTC for my PayPal

I trade all the major PayPal currencies (USD, EUR, GBP) to BTC. I can supply decent amount of PayPal funds and am looking for reliable partners to constantly trade with.

All the funds are generated from online sales and therefore are clean.

I am aware of the chargebacks risk so all the payments are made as Friends and Family. If desirable, the payment can be made as Goods and Services.

Naturally, the desired rate is 1:1 but I can offer a premium on the trade which is set individually depending on many factors.

🌟 FIAT currencies to Bitcoin exchange 🌟

I also offer FIAT to Bitcoin (or any other cryptocurrency) exchange service.

Accepted forms of payment: SEPA transfer, UK Bank Transfer, U.S. Bank Transfer, Australia Bank Transfer, TransferWise

Additional Information

Now, I know that I do not have any trust on this forum yet, but I am willing to do everything that is in my power to make sure that both parties feel safe, therefore I am ready to use an escrow or look for other solutions until we build the trust between each other. I have been providing these services for over a year now in other communities and have made some great partners already and the mutual trust has been established gradually. As the business grows, I am looking for some new partners to work with and scale up.

I have noticed that there are many people here with bad reputation who have scammed others in the past and it seems that this forum‘s policy does not include the obligation of the administration to eliminate such people and allows them to remain in the community. If you have negative trust or do not have any trust at all yet it is very very unlikely that I will send you the payment first. I am prepared to deal with trusted members of this community only, if you have a good reputation here and are willing to strike a deal give me a DM and we will arrange a trade.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Which stablecoin is the most reliable? on: May 12, 2019, 12:52:37 PM
Hello,

I have never really used stablecoins so far, my question simple:

Which stablecoin is the real stablecoin and can be trusted? USDT always seemed like an option but they had that issue when the price suddenly dropped down to 0.85, which makes me trust them less.

Is there a stablecoin to which you can put your funds and be sure that you will get back what you put? (I know it cannot be 100% guarantee, but which according to your opinion is the best?)
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How far are we from real decentralization? on: May 11, 2019, 04:12:44 PM
Hi everyone,

I have been into BTC for almost two years now, and as time goes my passion for the technology and the stuff it brings together with it grows together.
To me personally, the biggest gift BTC has brought with itself is decentralization, and now since BTC has been for over 10 years now with us I have this simple question:

How far are we from a real decentralization in more aspects of our lives and technology?
What I want to point out is, I have been learning a lot recently about tech in general and, for example, I have learned what DNS is.

Why are we not seeing a decentralized DNS yet?? just why???
The same goes for stock market. Why is it not decentralized yet, allowing people to exchange stocks without the interference of exchanges?
17  Economy / Exchanges / upbit API on: March 05, 2018, 09:23:39 PM

https://upbit.com/home

If anybody has that URL please share it here, thanks!!!!
18  Economy / Trading Discussion / LakeBTC on: February 08, 2018, 11:08:43 AM
Hello,

Does anybody trades on LakeBTC?
Is it a reliable exchange? It looks quite suspicious so would like to get answers from those who have traded or still trades there.

Also, how about their FIAT withdrawals? Especially SEPA? How long does it take to get processed and is it difficult to make a withdrawal?
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Can API be imported to MS Excel? on: January 11, 2018, 03:35:40 AM
Hello,

Can API be imported to excel?

I am trying to import API data from cryptopia.co.nz

They have publicly issued their APIs here:
https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Forum/Thread/255

Let's say I choose to import this one:
https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/api/GetCurrencies

When I do that, I get this.

How to solve it?
20  Economy / Trading Discussion / Import coinmarktecap data into excel spreadsheet on: December 19, 2017, 11:19:08 PM
Hello,

I am looking for a solution to track coins' price and change in my excel spreadsheet.

I found this video and this would be a great solution to me, but it does not work because I am getting script errors, and no matter what I press (yes/no), they still keep popping up:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJ7-GyYxmEI

Maybe someone knows how to fix this or can share other solution to this?

What I am looking for is a comfortable way to track coins prices and their % change during 24hrs, 7 days etc.

I look forward to hearing from you, thank you!
