1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Bitcoin survive, some altcoins die? on: September 14, 2017, 10:42:36 PM
Loving the opportunity to invest at moment, going to be grabbing some of the bigger coins over the next few days and holding till eventual rise again.

My query is over altcoin survival, since their market cap isn't as glamorous as the big boys, isn't there a serious chance some can completely go under?

Just trying to weigh up my risks if some of the more attractive altcoins are worth putting into my buy order. Probably will be, but curious as to other people's strategies when trying to avoid potentially vulnerable altcoins at this moment in time.

My current prices i'm waiting for are
OMG - $8
Waves - $2.50
TenX - $1.50
BAT - $0.10
CIVIC - $0.20

Probably do about $500 in each if they hit my desired price with maybe $1000 each in Eth/Neo and enough to buy a whole bitcoin to join the club!
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Altcoin Market Cap vs UK Companies Market Cap (Fun Comparision) on: September 08, 2017, 08:25:37 PM
I've always wondered how much new coins / products believe their business to be worth compared to already established real world businesses. Decided to pick a few based on market capital and compare. Here's my results from picking a few Smiley

I tried to pick some companies I actually knew from the FTSE All share listing which wasn't easy! Source:

Not sure if the UK Company market cap figures are in dollars or pounds. I assumed pounds. The figures are not exact just meant to be a quick fun comparison.

QTUM $-748M
Halfords Group plc - 653.30m

Golem $290M
Hollywood Bowl Group 252M

BAT - $208M
SafeStyle UK Ltd -188M

Status $106M
Shoe Zone 79.8M

MobileGo $59M
GAME Digital - 67.9M

Also I got nothing against any of the coins listed before anyone blows a fuse, they were just closest to the companies I knew from the FTSE list!
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / EOS Period Price History on: September 08, 2017, 07:30:31 PM

Is there any sites / topics where the price per EOS ICO period is being tracked/recorded? I notice EOS price on the markets has been on a long downward trend. It's a token I want to get into at some point but wondering what the typical token/$ rates are by taking part in the ICO periods vs just buying on exchange.
4  Economy / Scam Accusations / KickICO - Scam (Old Worthless Tokens) on: September 05, 2017, 08:22:41 PM
What happened::
So for anyone that doesn't know KickICO had major problems with their smart contract during the ICO and had to switch to a new crowdsale address after 600 million coins were deposited to an unknown address. As a result anyone left with tokens from KickICO_Old is left with tokens worth 0. The news article said they'd transfer new tokens to those affected within a week.

I invested 0.4 Eth in the ICO and am now left with the old style tokens despite trying to get a resolution for having the new smart contract tokens issued.

Tried to get an answer from two of their support staff, one told me to add the new token address and they'd magically refresh within 24 hours, even though no tokens had been transferred. Copy of chat discussion below, either I got something seriously misunderstood or it's just a blatant scam.

Is anyone else in the same boat of having only tokens from KickICO_Old?

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Limit Hacking Damage: Using Hash of Wallet address Pre-ICO? on: August 22, 2017, 10:01:59 PM

Just wondering why with so many start up ICOs getting compromised in the heat of ICOs, why don't companies release a hash value of the Eth wallet they're going to use in the build up to the ICO start date?

That way they don't risk making the wallet address known for people to send early payments etc but it gives people an opportunity to check the address once it goes live and ensure it hasn't been hacked/altered at the last minute to change it to the malicious parties address.

New to the ICO game so maybe some companies do provide this but I haven't seen any yet.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Everex Registration Restricted for ICO? on: August 21, 2017, 09:00:38 PM
As per title, was tempted by Everex ICO but it looks like registration has been locked?

Is anyone else getting the same issue, can't see any mention of it on their official comms channels.
