3  Economy / Economics / Thoughts on service-for-asset exchange model. on: January 18, 2024, 07:50:25 PM
How would you pitch something like this to let's say a property management company if you offered general contracting services?
For example you'll renovate a house in exchange for a property/land parcel they own. Or a vehicle.in exchange to paint a dealership.
Or give service for equity/stake in a company. The possibilities are kinda limitless.
This would be done in an official capacity. Not sole proprietor.

HTML Structure and Content:
HTML provides the structure and content of the website. This includes text, links, images, and basic formatting. It doesn't include advanced features like animations or interactive elements that require JavaScript or other programming languages that require server-side processing.

Single Page:
A simple HTML website is a single page, meaning all the content is on one page that can be scrolled through, without the complexity of multiple pages or navigation to different sections of the site.

No Backend or Databases:
These websites will not have a backend system or a database. This means they can't handle things like user logins, storing customer data, or processing transactions internally. They are best suited for informational purposes like a personal portfolio, a landing page, or a small business brochure.

Why so cheap?:
Since these are straightforward and don't require backend or server-side processing, they are typically quicker and less expensive to develop.

Deployment on Cloudflare Pages:
Deploying on Cloudflare Pages means that your website will be hosted on Cloudflare's servers. This offers benefits like faster load times, improved security, and reduced hosting costs. It's a great way to make websites accessible to a wider audience with minimal ongoing maintenance.

Domains
You can set up your custom domain with this system as well for easy set and forget integration. Or I can assist you.

So for $20, you get a cost-effective, straightforward, and easy-to-maintain web presence that's ideal for showcasing information without the need for complex functionality or data handling. Personally, I think I'm giving more value out of the deployment itself than the html page.

Interested or have questions? Reply here or PM me.

Thanks in advance!

9  Other / Meta / Self hosted API's for regular signature editing? on: December 09, 2023, 06:34:17 PM
Would self-hosting an API (or something) that managed my signature be frowned upon?

For example, having a price ticker scape BTC price and update it in text/BB format every 30 mins via tapermonkey or something like that to my signature destination.

http://html/body/div[2]/table/tbody/tr/td[2]/form/table/tbody/tr[3]/td/table/tbody/tr[13]/td[2]/textarea

this is just one way to go about it. I could explore unofficial Api's and see what could be conjured up.

I guess my main concern is even if this is fair game, would it be frowned upon it changing so much?

I could see it potentially causing confusion in archives and stuff,

or just being annoying if a color changed or something every 30 mins even if I'm not posting.

I'd like to tinker with the notion though!

I've been thinking for years of something different and neat to attempt involving signatures.

10  Economy / Service Discussion / Real world side gigs for sats. on: December 05, 2023, 01:39:28 PM
I'm looking to do some side hustling for BTC and was going to experiment with some small concepts to see how they go.

These are going to be time based labor services such as rebuilding carbonators or computer/console repair.

I'd like to see some input on how you might would go about this in your area? My thoughts are to offer a special and then offer a better

discount if paid with crypto. Odds are they will be paying via cashapp or Venmo anyways , why not take advantage of that?

I'm looking to stack some sats utilizing ideas like this over the holidays if you guys would like to contribute and ideas to be tested in this

endeavor please drop it here and I'll try to utilize or implement your idea into this venture.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / The Paradox of Privacy and Decentralization: Banning Mixers on Bitcointalk.org on: December 02, 2023, 02:30:54 PM

Bitcointalk, a place of decentralized ideologies, has banned the use of mixers starting Jan 1 2024. This decision presents a fascinating irony and raises several questions about the core values of Bitcoin and the broader crypto community.

The Ideological Conflict:
At its heart, Bitcoin is a decentralized currency. Mixers, which enhance transaction privacy, seem like a natural ally to this cause. Yet, their banning on a platform dedicated to decentralization is contradictory. Does this signify a shift in the community's values, or is it a necessary compromise?

Legal and Ethical Considerations
The rationale behind banning mixers often revolves around legal compliance and preventing illicit activities. While these are valid concerns, do they justify stepping away from the principles of privacy and decentralization?

Community Response and Impact:
How has this decision been received by the broader cryptocurrency community? Does it affect the way we perceive and use Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies?

Speculating on Satoshi Nakamoto’s Perspective:
If Satoshi Nakamoto were to witness this, what would their reaction be? Would they advocate for absolute adherence to privacy and decentralization, or acknowledge the need for some regulatory measures?

The Future of Decentralization and Privacy in Cryptocurrencies:
Looking forward, how do we balance the ideals of privacy and decentralization with the practicalities of regulation and legal compliance? What developments might we anticipate in this domain?

I wish they had Black Friday deals on things like septic systems and gravel delivery.

17  Other / Serious discussion / I'm a millennial that's been house shopping for 4 years. Finally got a break. on: July 01, 2023, 02:38:03 PM
Let's go back to 2019. Pre-covid.
Apr was around 3.8 FHA required 580 credit score.
And you could pretty easily get approved for 80-120k for your first home, and there where options! Cash buyers where only grabbing 1 out of 5 houses on the market.
Well, I didn't have my shit together ,didn't have long enough credit/work history (Ive always been a cash on kind of guy and have worked for myself in various kinds of employment.
Carpentry ,crypto, computer repair/sales ,carpet shampooing random hustles to make bills and ends meet.) So we had stipulation approvals that didn't really make sense , double interest rates, 10+% down  and everytime we applied they wanted 20-40 credit points better each time! So even when we would get approved the terms where fuckin trash and a deterrent. Now I know the whole nations been dealing with this but I reside in Waco TX area. Home of magnolia.
So these issues propagated here, now we had a bunch of Californians selling there 800sqft shacks in Cali and upgrading to 4,000 mansions in Tx. So the inflation here propagated , we realized we where on the front lines of this battle here in Waco.
So I started approaching it different .
Looking for owner financing houses.
One of my clients I fix on his tractors every season(we also tried purchasing a RV he had once) caught wind of our goals and told us about a place he was building simply to have a better address for his grandkids to go to school. Said hed entertain selling it, we go check it out, it's a cabin sitting on 14 acres brand new (incomplete build)
This wasn't any ole cabin though, it was a steel built shop/barndominium, it had water , electric , the basic build was done , it lacked weird essentials such as lights, sockets, register covers , a kitchen, bathrooms.
A bit out of our scope at the time due to price and work needed .
Fast forward to 2023 , I'm still looking and half my heads gray or bald at this point. I never forgot about this place so I call the owner of it back up.
That house had still been sitting without a front door , weathering away.
I tell him I need a rope. And your the only one holding enough rope to pull me out.
I tell him I have 5K down will fix the house  up and live on site in the RV he had untill it's habitable, and explain I want a 10 year loan on it. 6 months reprieve after down payment
I pitch a shit show of a plan (good plan but hard work and a lot to do but a feasible one!)
This place needs aerobic septic installed
Outdoor ac compressor,
Waterheater
A full kitchen, 1.5 bathrooms
A water heater
And the trim/fixens
-
It has rooms, been taped bed and mud/textured/primed.
Plumbing is in and electrical pulled to all locations. Indoor ac coil and ducts installed
It's a vaulted build that very well insulated!

The cool thing is this guy really heard us out and helped cater a growth plan into it. He also did it at about half the market value (since its incomplete and has a few small issue that pertain to it being unoccupied without a front door!)
I currently pay ~2800 a month in rent at my current house and warehouse. I can build a shop out there for about the same price as 2 years of rent at my current shop.

Anyways, this has been a adventure.
If I can scratch up about 40k to finish this place out in the next 5 months I'll be in good standing ! I'll upload pics as it progresses and keep y'all up to date if wanted.

We are going to try to take advantage of the inflation reduction act to get a lot of this done ,so many incentives and rebates, it makes sense to buy the qualifying appliances.

Welp ..that's my story of how we bought our first house!
Ps.we only get 1 acre of the 14, but we get to use the other 13 untill it's sold!

18  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / LN progression on: June 24, 2023, 12:46:31 PM
I'm looking to get your insights on the evolution of the Lightning Network over the past couple of years. As someone who hasn't used it in a while, I'm curious to know how it has matured and evolved during this time.

Back when I last used it, the Lightning Network was still in its early stages, with a lot of potential but also many challenges to overcome. I remember there were concerns about liquidity, routing, and the overall user experience. I could poke stuff and break it, but I wouldn't understand why it broke in the first place.

So, for those of you who have been actively using or following the Lightning Network, I'd love to hear your thoughts. How has the network evolved? Have there been significant improvements in terms of scalability, speed, and fees? How about the user experience - has it become more user-friendly?

Also, I'm interested in any new applications or use cases that have emerged as a result of these developments. Are there any standout projects or initiatives that you think are worth highlighting?

I'm looking for a new project to participate in or conjure up something new all around and want to go back into LN
Are we still on #reckless or has that image faded?
19  Other / Off-topic / David Charles Grusch: Whistleblower and Recent UFO Sightings on: June 11, 2023, 04:35:33 AM
Recently, Grusch publicly alleged that the U.S. federal government maintains a highly secretive UFO retrieval program and is in possession of both extraterrestrial spacecraft and the corpses of pilots. These allegations are based on information he claims to have received from other officials.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Grusch

Recently, there's been a reported sighting in Nevada that's caught my attention. You can check out the vid caught on axon bodycam here. A 911 call was made just a minute after this sighting.
https://news4sanantonio.com/news/nation-world/las-vegas-workers-claim-ufo-sighting-police-body-cam-captures-mysterious-flash

Personally, I've always found Bob Lazar's claims about this stuff at Area 51(S4) to be compelling. The increasing number of reported sightings and the growing body of evidence seem to suggest that we may not be alone in the universe.

I'm leaning towards the unacknowledged theory,  that governments are aware of extraterrestrial life but choose to keep it secret. At this point, it feels less like a theory and more like a plausible explanation.

Given the mounting evidence, I believe it's time to move on from the Fermi Paradox. What do yall think?
20  Economy / Goods / Looking for apparel to wear and resell from brick-and-mortar store. on: June 06, 2023, 03:48:34 PM
I'm posting on behalf of a tech warehouse team that's in the market for some tech themed apparel and promotional items. They don't have a specific brand or theme in mind, but they particularly interested in items that showcase projects or concepts related to coding, 3D Printing, bitcoin, ai, or blockchain. (Anything Niche and nerdy related to tech)

They're looking for unique, artistically designed items that the team would be proud to wear and use. Think of it as a real-world ramping opportunity for your brand or style to gain some recognition. In return, they'll be walking billboards for your designs, giving your work exposure to a wider audience.

This is an opportunity for em to delve deeper into their ideal clients with pertinent content, and for you to get your designs out there in the world. If you're an artist, a designer, or a brand that aligns with these themes, I'd love to hear from you.

If you're interested or want more details, feel free to PM me.
Clients are not asking for free stuff, they will pay, however it must be pertinent content.
This is also an opportunity to potentially use them as a vendor.
