L’apparition de technologies de séquençage nouvelle génération a résulté dans une baisse significative des prix pour l’analyse de génome et une augmentation exponentielle de disponibilité des données génomiques. Pour stocker de si grandes quantités de données génomiques, des bases de données génomiques spéciales ont été créées, financées par des gouvernements ou de grandes corporations. Ces bases de données contiennent de l’information pertinente cliniquement tout autant que les relations entre les traits génétiques et les maladies.

Impacts sur la Science et la Société Le développement de la génomique a conduit à une transformation de la biologie, l’agriculture, la médecine, les sciences sociales et beaucoup d’autres sciences. Google, Apple, IBM et un nombre important de compagnies commerciales ont mis en place des objectifs pour l’utilisation de la génomique pour ajuster leurs produits et services en fonction des profils génomiques de leurs clients. Ce qui amène à repenser la notion de confidentialité et vie privée.

Aujourd’hui, le volume total du marché est d’environ 25 Milliards de dollars.

Mais de très importants défis pour la génomique subsistent, notamment la disponibilité, la confidentialité et l’éthique.

Confidentialité Génétique L’ADN est une molécule ou tout l’information génétique est stockée. Cette information est étroitement connectée à l’identité de groupe et personnelle. Cela signifie que la confidentialité génétique a sa propre valeur et que sa protection est très importante pour la vie future.

Discrimination génétique Les découvertes en génétique ont ouvert la porte à de nouveaux moyens de discrimination. La discrimination génétique s’effectue lorsque des gens sont traités différemment par leur employeurs ou les compagnies d'assurance à cause d’une mutation d’un gène spécifique.

Monopole des données Génomiques La majorité des données génomiques sont hébergées dans des bases de données localisées dans des pays occidentaux et sont contrôlées par des gouvernements ou des corporations. Les accès pour la communauté scientifique sont restreints par des souscriptions commerciales. Dans de nombreux cas, les groupes de recherche doivent fournir des explications concernant la contribution de l’étude au bien du public et doivent attendre des mois pour obtenir une approbation.

Pseudo anonymat des données stockées dans les bases de données génétiques Bien que les fondateurs des bases de données génomiques affirment qu’ils stockent de manière sécuritaire et anonyme les données génomiques, en réalité les données ne sont pas totalement confidentielles, comme dans certains cas ou, des individus ont peu être identifiés en se basant sur leur information génomique.

Manque d’information La connaissance du public envers la médecine génomique reste assez limité dans les pays occidentaux et la situation est pire dans les pays en développement. Cela signifie qu’en général, la population a une faible connaissance des bénéfices possibles de la génomique ainsi que des dangers qui y sont associés.

La monopolisation des données génomiques empêche les progrès scientifiques

Le projet Zenome

La Plateforme Zenome va améliorer la connaissance de la médecine génomique, ce qui permettra aux utilisateurs de prendre des décisions éclairées concernant leurs données.
Pour s’en assurer, la Plateforme Zenome est basée sur les principes fondamentaux suivants.

	Propriété Individuelle de l’Information Génomique Personnelle     L’utilisateur a tous les droits sur ses données génomiques.	Liberté de choix    L’utilisateur décide comment son information génétique peut être utilisée.
	Le droit de partager     L’utilisateur peut autoriser l’accès à ses données génétiques à une tierce partie tout en limitant la copie des données.	Confidentialité     L’encryption des données empêche l’accès à celles-ci sans la permission explicite de l’utilisateur.

Architecture du système

Décrit simplement, la plateforme Zenome est un réseau P2P. Des noeuds sont des fournisseurs de ressources qui stocke et analysent l’information génétique. Les participants, analystes et les fournisseurs de services se connectent au réseau distribué et interagissent entre eux. Les échanges de données sont sécurisés à travers l’encryption et l’utilisation des “Smarts Contracts” de la “Blockchain”.

 Principaux acteurs de la plateforme Zenome :

• Fournisseur de ressources fournit de l’espace de stockage ainsi que la puissance GPU/CPU pour une récompense.
• Participant exporte ses données génétiques, reçoit un rapport et utilise potentiellement des services génétiques.
• Analyste travaille avec l’information génétique (un analyste des données ou une organisation scientifique)
• Fournisseur de Service met en place un espace pour l’utilisateur pour lui donner accès à des services génétiques sur la plateforme (potentiellement payants).

Stockage des données distribué Fournit une haute disponibilité et une tolérance aux défauts grâce à la réplication et la possibilité d’expansion.

Analyse des données distribuée Permet à tout utilisateur de devenir un noeud en fournissant de l’espace disque et du temps GPU/CPU pour le réseau.

API de fournisseur de service Est pensé pour assurer le maximum de confidentialité. L’utilisateur voit quelles données sont à transférer et doit explicitement confirmer l’échange de données.

Économie décentraliséeest soutenue par le jeton utilitaire de la plateforme, le jeton Zenome DNA (ZNA).

Tokenomique du Génome

Il apparaît que l’échange d’information génétique est crucial. Le marché génétique potentiel doit assurer une protection contre toute mauvaise utilisation et la discrimination génétique notamment. Il est particulièrement important de maintenir la transparence et un accès égalitaire à ce marché. Zenome a pour objectif de créer l’infrastructure de la génomique personnelle, qui permettra aux participants de : Exporter leur information génétique et d’en prendre controle. Stocker sécuritairement leur information génétique. Faire des profits en vendant l’accès à tout ou partie de leur données génétiques. Passer des tests génétiques en échanges des droits d’utiliser l’information génétique. Obtenir des recommandations pour des diètes ou des programmes d’entrainement personnalisés basés sur leur composition génétique. Utilisation d’autres services génétiques. Les principaux consommateurs d’information génétique sont des compagnies intéressés dans la ciblage génétique, telles que Google, Facebook, Unilever et les compagnies pharmaceutiques.

Sur la Plateforme Zenome, différents types d’informations sont intrinsèquement reliés. La nature de chaque type détermine la manière dont l'information de ce type est stockée.     Données financières, qui incluent les enregistrements des transactions, sont stockées sur la blockchain.     Données génomiques anonymes sont stockées sur le réseau distribué.      Les données personnelles du participant sont conservées sur leur ordinateur uniquement. Traiter les différents types de données de différentes manières permet la confidentialité du système ainsi que faciliter son expansion. Puisque toutes les transactions, incluant celles vendant et achetant des données, sont gouvernées par  les Smart Contracts, les interactions peuvent seulement inclure les balances stockées sur les blockchains. Un jeton utilitaire de la plateforme, le ZNA (le jeton d’ADN Zenome), soutient l’économie décentralisée de Zenome. Le jeton est utilisé comme unité d’échange dans l’écosystème interne. La valeur du ZNA dépend entièrement du succès de la plateforme. Le ZNA est un jeton utilitaire : Le ZNA n’est pas une preuve de propriété ou d’un droit de contrôle. Les jetons seront distribués lors des périodes de socio-financement.

Le socio-financement consiste en : Prévente : Les jetons seront distribués parmis des contributeurs de la première heur à un prix fixe; Vente : Pendant la vente, des jetons seront distribués entre tous les contributeurs, avec un prix dynamique; Émission d’après-vente : Des lots de jetons additionnels seront distribués : l’équipe, les fonds, jetons marketing et jetons gelés (débloqués graduellement pendant une période de 5 ans après une évaluation à la hausse de 10x. Approvisionnement limité : pas d’autre jeton sera créé après ces étapes.

Jetons gelés (détails) : En fait, les jetons gelés sont des jetons envoyés à un Smart Contract qui les bloque jusqu’à ce qu’une condition particulière soit atteinte (évaluation à la hausse de 10x). The highly promising market for genetic technologies is growing rapidly. The advent of next-generation sequencing technologies has resulted in a significant drop in prices for genome analyzing and an exponential increase in available genomic data. To store such a large amount of genomic data, special genomic databases have been created, financed by governments or large corporations. These databases contain clinically relevant information as well as the relationships between genetic traits and diseases.

Impact on Science and Society The development of genomics has led to the transformation of biology, agriculture, medicine, social sciences and many other sciences.  Google, Apple, IBM and a number of commercial companies have set the objective of using genomics to adjust their products and services according to the customers' genomic profiles. This led to rethinking of the notion of privacy.

Currently, the total market volume is about approximately $25 billion.

But some serious challenges for genomics still exist, concerning availability, privacy and ethics.

Genetic Privacy DNA is a molecule where all genetic information is stored. This information is closely connected to personal and group identity. That means that genetic privacy has a value on its own, and genetic privacy protection is of great importance for a meaningful life.

Participants, analysts and service providers connect to distributed network and interact with each other. Data exchange is secured through encryption and utilization of blockchain smart contracts.

  Zenome platform main actors:

• Resource provider provides storage and CPU/GPU power for a reward.
• Participant uploads individual genetic data, gets reports and possibly uses genetic services.
• Analyst works with genetic information (a data scientist or a scientific organization)
• Service Provider implements a user-space genetic service (possibly paid) on the platform.

Distributed data storage provides high availability and fault tolerance through replication and scale out ability.

Distributed data processing enables any user to become a node by providing disk space and CPU/GPU time to the network.

Service Provider API is designed to ensure maximum confidentiality. User sees what data is to be transfered and has to explicitly confirm data exchange.

Decentralized economics is powered by the utility token of the platform, Zenome DNA Token (ZNA).

Genome Tokenomics

It appears that the exchange of genetic information is of crucial importance. The prospective genetic market must ensure protection from possible misuse and genetic discrimination in particular. It is particularly important to maintain transparency and equal access to this market. Zenome aims at creating the personal genomics infrastructure, that would enable participants to: Upload genetic information and take control of it. Securely store own genetic information. Inside Zenome Platform different types of information are inextricably intertwined. The nature of each type determines the way to store information of that kind.     Financial data, which includes records of transactions, is stored on blockchain.     Anonymized genomic data is stored on the distributed network.     Participant's personal data is kept on their own computers only. Treating data of different kind differently provides privacy as well as scalability of the system. Since all data transactions, including buying and selling data, are governed by smart-contracts, interactions can only include balances stored on blockchains. Using any of pre-existing tokens for this purpose would result in unreasonable dependence on the valuation of external token. Thus, a separate utility token should be issued to power economic interactions on the platform.
