21  Economy / Goods / [SOLD] Two $5 Amazon codes (want escrow) on: July 14, 2012, 11:17:38 PM
Since it doesn't look like the Bitcoin price is going down anytime soon, I'm going to sell these two different codes I have for Amazon that are worth $5 each.

These codes were acquired from Bing's Search Rewards program.

I would highly prefer to have someone with a good reputation to be the middleman for the transaction(s), so if someone is willing to do so for free that would be great!

At an exchange rate of $7.5, I think BTC1.2 ($9) is fair for both codes ($10). Prices will be adjusted to reflect the most current exchange rate at time of transaction.

23  Economy / Goods / [WTS] TF2 Items on: June 30, 2012, 09:15:15 AM
Hello everyone,

I used to be a pretty hardcore TF2 player, but I have lost interest in the past two years and rarely play. I have a lot of items that I never use that I am willing to sell. My backpack is here: http://www.tf2items.com/id/grantbourque (Steam profile: http://steamcommunity.com/id/grantbourque)

Things I'm especially wanting to get rid of:
  • Crates (including the scorched crates)
  • Paint colors
  • Certain hats, such as the Chieftan's Challenge and my Vintage Scotsman's Stove Pipe (Purple)

I also should have vintage of many of the older weapons that I'm willing to sell.

Things absolutely not for sale (pretty much stuff I use for Scout, my primary class):
  • Baker's Boy
  • Summer Shades
  • "Meatshotty"
  • "Just Wing It"
  • The Atomizer

Bitcoin prices are negotiable, and I am not exactly sure how much these go for USD or ingame (I'm not much a trader). I would prefer requests be public on this thread so anyone can point out a really bad deal. I will give preference to more "established" bitcoin community members (I know I'm not one of them) to lessen my chances of being scammed.
24  Other / Beginners & Help / Problems communicating with bitcoin RPC 0 2 on: July 21, 2011, 11:53:28 PM
I am using GUIminer mining for BTCguild and every few minutes the console will display the message "Problems communicating with bitcoin RPC 0 2" and my hashrate crashes down to zero and goes back up. I can't imagine this is a good thing. I've tried using two older versions of guiminer and I have the same problem. Help?
25  Other / Beginners & Help / GUIminer throttle for CUDA? on: July 20, 2011, 03:05:54 AM

Q: My temperatures are too high, can I throttle the GPU so it runs slower but cooler?
A: If you are mining using OpenCL you can use the -s flag a value such as 0.01 in order to force the GPU to sleep for 0.01 seconds in between runs. Increase or decrease this value until you have the desired GPU utilization.

I need a way to throttle my GTX 260 to prevent it from getting too hot. I noticed there is a flag for OpenCL users, so I was wondering if there is a flag I can add to my CUDA GUIminer. Thanks.
26  Bitcoin / Mining / Temperature concerns on: May 09, 2011, 03:25:16 AM
Hello, I am a new miner. I have been using GUIMiner to use my nvidia GTX 260 for more practical purposes. I am in the deepbit pool and have been making quite a bit, but I am not that concerned about becoming bit-wealthy. I do care about being able to live in my room though. Just a few hours of mining put my GPU at 80 degree Celsius and the entire second floor of my house went up 6 degrees Fahrenheit. I live in the south of the USA and summer hasn't even really begun, so I am concerned that mining won't be realistic for me if I can't control the heat generated by my PC. I have EVGA precision installed which easily allows me to over or underclock my card, but I am not sure which settings would be the most beneficial to lower in terms of lowering temp. I am not hardware illiterate but this goes beyond my experience.

The three settings presented to me are:
Core clock (Default: 576)
Shader clock (Default: 1242)
Memory clock (Default: 999)
Rate on default settings: ~45 Mhash/s
