1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / SHA256 transition on: October 10, 2020, 07:06:51 PM
How would network transition from sha256 and remain its stability in the process? And very likely we would not be able to develop strong replacement without tools that would first allow us to break that very same sha256 (likely quantum tools ahah). Price stability right now is very heavy dependent on lost coins - but this would change dramatically during off-sha256 transition, or I am missing something?

2  Economy / Trading Discussion / Coinbase took my USDC?))) on: August 31, 2020, 01:34:41 AM
I got a few USDC when it was introduced on the platform, just to see how that token thing gonna work. Recently I noticed that APY reward kinda off on the last tx so contacted coinbase:

Thank you for contacting Coinbase Support.

The APY rate is set by Coinbase and can change at anytime and you will be notified. Unless otherwise stated, any updates made will not be effective until the first day of the calendar month.

coinbase website making it even more confusing since july and aug rewards' % is off:

As of June 3rd, 2020, the APY for USDC Rewards is 0.15%.

10  Economy / Scam Accusations / Sierracoin scam on: December 28, 2018, 02:44:32 PM
What happened::
Somebody mentioned their inactive github but very active CEX listings. website confirms
Scammers Profile Link:;u=2446298
Reference Link:
Additional Notes:

their code base would not pass the audit with errors like (1977 is xumacoin) so this is clearly unqualified team working for PnD?

dev team clearly not capable to keep the core updated and compile-able so there is no binary distribution - this a common scam releases page Smiley

RPi (BTC/LTC) on: August 15, 2018, 12:10:18 AM

Torrent

15  Other / Serious discussion / how far is the proper definition for the "coin"? on: April 02, 2018, 05:32:33 AM
just finished reading fresh writeup from

somewhere in the middle i caught myself on complete dead end, trying to understand current classifications. but it feels like basic approach for the btc classification is failing at its foundation. cryptocurrency from the look of the backend code - is not what common user thinks. first you generate electricity. then you convert it into hash power. then you using hash power to move blocks on the chain, being rewarded for resources you spent for the task. just like petroleum (from the perspective of human species, its unlikely we will give this planet a chance to generate some of it again - so this is very close to btc supply limit) - coins are fossil fuel for the blockchain. am i getting it right?
16  Other / Beginners & Help / stay away from pump n dump on: March 25, 2018, 11:23:29 PM
would like to share this article regarding PnD groups. a lot of users still thinking that somebody really giving away valuable signals for free "to support the community". there is some decent business in the market, but this kind of approach is just a textbook scam. stay safe!
17  Other / Serious discussion / power providers cleared to hike rates for crypto miners on: March 16, 2018, 08:17:10 PM

in some countries you need to register with the gov to be able to mine legally. but in ny state you also need to pay extra just because "you not contributing to the community". ok, besides that i just might don't like people - any kind of mining is a huuge contribution to the community (on the scale mentioned in the article). thats exactly why mining is profitable. so how its this really happening?

20  Local / Новички / Mastering Bitcoin - обязательно к прочтению on: March 07, 2018, 11:39:41 PM
