1  Economy / Services / Seeking Electronics Circuit Designer on: June 05, 2015, 02:48:46 PM
I'm looking or a electronics circuit designer.

Should be familiar with:
- DC audio circuits
- audio amplifiers and audio technologies (a musician ideally)
- RF technologies (send Tx receive Rx and control)

A relatively small project, do not need PCB design, just a circuit that I can breadboard, and schematic that I can later have the PCB designed and printed. (I have a local source for those services)

thx for looking!
2  Bitcoin / Mining support / antminer S1 will not reset on: October 23, 2014, 04:18:02 PM
Had a power spike, The s1 now will not fully boot. It seems to keep trying forever to boot.
The reset switch does nothing.
The second chip board does not power on.
I tried unplugging that board and booting with just single, same result.

Any suggestions, or just buy another controller board and hashing board?

7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Guess I got hacked on: March 28, 2014, 01:11:32 PM
synched up my wallet and found a transaction... that I never made. it emptied my wallet.

12gEgguL2ciHqerypstKM5WYCMcxRKsnQ4

looks like a couple others got hacked as well.

trying to figure out how it happened. I encrypt my wallet and have a passphrase that is pretty strong...

backup wallet would be useless because the tx has already happened in the chain correct?

10  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Automated Updating Wallet Block chains on: January 27, 2014, 11:11:06 PM
wondering if it is possible to update a wallet's blockchain if stored on a cloud drive (gmail drive, dropbox)
(not the wallet, just the block chain so that you always have a synced block chain?

and then, of that is possible, can you automate the updates?

Point being it would be nice to always have an updated client when you launch it.

15  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / 6 GPU help for GigaByte 990FX UD5 on: November 30, 2013, 02:20:38 PM
hi all, looking for some tips on pci risers\extenders, appreciate any help !!
I'm building a 6 gpu beast, running the Gigabyte 990fx. Hoping the sales tech was correct in offering this board for 6 GPU's !

It has:
2 x PCI Express x16 slots,  x16
1 x PCI Express x16 slot,  x8
2 x PCI Express x16 slots, x4
1 x PCI Express x1 slot
1 x PCI slot

I'm assuming I need to convert the 1 PCIEX x1 slot with a extender or riser cable, and 5 additional risers for PCIEX x16.
can I put a 7th video card for the monitor itself?

I opted for 2 PSU's at 800w each, do I need to use a Multiple PSU Adapter? http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009P98Q8U/ref=as_li_ss_til?tag=onsimobicomps-20&camp=0&creative=0&linkCode=as4&creativeASIN=B009P98Q8U&adid=0W8RWNDS8NWMRVZ5EEPR?

thx!

17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Quick Wallet Backup to The Cloud on: November 25, 2013, 05:13:10 AM
It is very important that you protect your wallet.dat files.
I crudely implemented a daily wallet backup system on my pc that allows me to upload all my different wallet.dat files to cloud storage.
Thought I would share. There are many mods or additions to add, please add!

Simply:
1) I created a simple windows 'bat' file to copy my many different cryptocoin wallet.dat files into a specific backup directory.
(I chose to automatically rename each wallet.dat according to the coin it belongs to) Yo can do as you like.
2) created a master backup.bat file to handle the task of backing up multiple wallets
3) run a free backup program called duplicati 'http://www.duplicati.com/' that can interface with just about any cloud based storage you can think of. (google, skydrive etc.)
4) configure duplicati with your cloud service provider (dropbox, drive, skydrive, box etc.)

The backup file is very basic, (please modify as you see fit)

create a bat file backup_wallet.bat
I create this in directory c:\users\appdata\roaming\<your cryptocoin>

for (windows 7/8)
cd c:\users\(user profile)\appdata\roaming\<your cryptocoin>
copy wallet.dat <your cryptocoin name>_wallet.dat
copy <your cryptocoin>_wallet.dat c:\<your cryptocoin directory> for wallet files)

On my desktop (or startup folder), I have a backup.bat that launches each <your cryptocoin>_wallet.bat from the directory of the coin (BTC, LTC etc.)
I run this every day, then 'Duplicati' automatically runs to backup the special wallet files folder to the cloud.

Also includes encryption for that extra protection

I run this backup daily. it requires very little storage and uses very little bandwidth, because i am only backign up my wallet.dat files.

hope it helps Smiley
