1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Cash wallet? on: January 17, 2018, 08:36:17 PM

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / KNC Neptune issues on: December 08, 2017, 02:54:00 PM
I never got a chance to power up my 2nd miner which I from KNC until last night. After taking everything out and plugging it into my old PSUs which powered my initial miner I thought something was missing from the controller board, but didn't think anything of it. The initial power on showed 3 of the 5 miners were working in the controller and two were off yet their fans were spinning. I realized then the LCD display was missing on the controller and I had use the first port as port 1 instead of the last port. After changing the one miner around and checking all the power and controller cables when I powered it backup and all the miners show as off.

I found this site, not sure if they have the actual roms or not? I tried the 105 rom on my controller, nothing changed. About the only thing I haven't tired is taking my old controllers LCD putting on this one or moving one of the miners to port 6.

Any thoughts would be appreciate.

3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin not so anonymous? on: December 05, 2017, 08:53:12 PM
The IRS has stated that recently they can track down people who are making a profit of Bitcoin without claiming it on their tax return. I wonder if the Core Engineers will start to look at ways to keep Bitcoin anonymous from prying eyes of the IRS and other Governments?

What are your thoughts?

9  Bitcoin / Mining / Outdoor Balcony mining? on: September 22, 2014, 06:15:10 PM

I live in Scarborough, ON, Canada. The fall and winter months are usually pretty cool/cold.

I wonder if anyone in Canada has moved their bitcoin/litecoin mining rigs to their balcony's for the folder months and what they encased them in?

I have a KNC Neptune miner which I want to put outside. My balcony faces west so I can sometimes get some pretty strong winds. I was thinking of using a rubbermaid container and drilling some holes; possible will need to build a down ward scoop on the intake side so that the snow and or rain doesn't get sucked into the container.

Does anyone have any pictures of stuff they have built they could share?

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Maxicon pool setup - stuck! :( on: April 03, 2014, 11:53:28 PM
I am still new to linux in grasping it.

I started building a Maxcoin pool using MPOS and the instructions found at -,11.msg17.html
I am stuck at the database section it asks to create a db and use the following command:

grant all on pooldb.* to ‘pooldb’@‘%’ identified by ‘PUT_A_VERY_STRONG_AND_LONG_RANDOM_DB_PASSWORD_HERE’;

When I do this I get the following error:

ERROR 1064 (42000): You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that the corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '%' identified by 'my-long-password' at line 1.

I am using Unbuntu 12.04 up-to-date and using the info on the page I linked above I used the commands it provided to install MySQL, so I am not sure if it installed a newer version that doesn't support this command or if the person who wrote the tutorial f'd up, IDK. I have tried following up in the other forum but looking at the messages it looks like its become a dead forum.

If someone here could help me I would appreciate it.

18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / I need help with Bitcoin-QT transferring of BTC on: March 14, 2014, 11:41:48 PM
I am using the latest version of Bitcoin-QT on openSUSE.

When I try to transfer 0.31779405 BTC to my other wallet I get the following dialog window;

When I have tried to transfer 0.59xxxxx bitcoins in the last couple of weeks I got the same dialog but it said the fee was 0.00004, when I adjusted my transfer to that number it took weeks to transfer as people told me I should have made it 0.0004 not 0.00004.

Anyhow I how do I know that I need to set my transfer fee to in Bitcoin-QT for any amount?

19  Bitcoin / Hardware / FREE Avalon ASIC chips! on: March 13, 2014, 05:51:49 PM
Sorry if I have posted this in the wrong forum. Sad

This package include 20 free A3233 40nm chips. you can find more document about A3233
Core voltage:0.75V
Chip frequency:600MHz

0.1BTC was for shipping cost. the A3233 was totally free.

Just saw this now on avalon-asic and thought this might be cool for those making USB ASIC keys.

20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / BitcoinQT transaction fee on: March 13, 2014, 12:03:59 PM
Is there anyway to setup BitcoinQT to automatically deduct the transaction fee when you are sending money from your wallet like Multibit does?

I use bitcoin-qt on my P2Pool and for larger transactions it tells me I need to deduct 0.001 for the transaction fee, after I subtract the 0.001 and try to send the amount it tells me I need to deduct 0.002, this is too confusing so it would be better if I can setup bitcoin-qt to automatically deduct the transaction fee so I am not getting the run around each time.
