2  Bitcoin / Wallet software / What is the minimum amount of bitcoin can be send? on: January 21, 2021, 04:24:26 AM
Just asking out of curiosity! I never sent any dust amount from my wallet.

Last night I was helping a friend to install a new bitcoin wallet from electrum before he was using a shit web wallet and successfully installed it on Android but I thought it would be better to teach him about how to make transaction from the electrum wallet.

So I tried to sent 300sats to his address which is segwit and mine too but the electrum keep giving me a warning that dust amount can't be broadtcast or something like that. But the minimum value of bitcoin is 1 sat then we can able to transact it right but why not possible on such case?

Issue with electrum or applies to every wallet! Huh

So beware of the scammers guys, and let other people know about this as well.Hope this is the right place for this thread.
5  Other / Beginners & Help / Merit isn't everything in bitcointalk! on: April 19, 2020, 05:09:09 PM
Sorry for another topic about merit guys! But I wanted to tell this to everyone, especially to newbies. Smiley

A high number of merits earned by an individual is a sign that he is a quality poster but it doesn't mean every less earned member is not knowledgeable enough. Earning merits depends on a lot of factors like which section we would like to post/discuss and which local board we belong to. So some members can earn more if their board and section have high active members and merit sources.

Actually what I wanted to tell is, if you are not making enough merits even after you are giving your maximum effort doesn't mean that you are not deserved to be on bitcointalk at someday you will get caught by the merits sources until that keep posting and learn new things which you are being yourself.
6  Other / Beginners & Help / Anyone can Rank-up! [Motivational Thread from a noob] on: December 20, 2019, 10:13:29 AM
If Findingnemo could rank up then why you can't rank up. I'm just a noob in cryptos technical aspects. When the merit system was introduced I was a member ranked forum member who lacking much intensive knowledge about cryptocurrencies. But later I realized that you no need to be a pro to rank up, all you need to be someone who can contribute somewhat to the discussions happening on threads.

Just my tips for anyone to get away themselves from being called as a spammer:

  • Don't post if you don't have anything to say: Most people are doing this mistake when they enter into a discussion, they simply post some sentences in general, to get their post count to be increased but if you have this habit then you could never rank up.
  • Don't be lazy to read: Did you ever heard that intelligent people are good listeners? So get your knowledge increase by reading more and more contents as much as you can, more knowledge you gather the more chance to make a better suggestion while enters into a discussion
  • Get yourself into a discussion: If you are creating a thread or replying to a thread keep watching the thread for further replies for your post and keep the discussion get going until the solution to be found.
  • English is important: Yes, if you want to interact with someone on the internet you need to have basic writing and understanding skills of English or you never know what is happening in a thread and you will be stuck there forever.
  • Be yourself: Just concentrate on improving your knowledge with the things you are good at, like if you are a trader then read more things about trading strategies and how to tackle the different market condition of crypto then teach others the things you learned. You can't post something good and informative if you never give an effort towards it.
  • Avoid posting on Spam mega threads: even if you post some good post on 113th post chances of anyone would read will be less, so you can't expect to get merit for that good post.
  • Avoid posting wall of text: If you want to say something which takes bit more characters to express then cut down the characters into multiple lines or paragraphs because if we see something which is really long to read, most of the people will simply skip. We are lazy in this modern world. Grin

Misc tip: You can use Grammarly extension to correct your mistakes while writing a post like spelling mistakes, simple grammatical mistakes, punctuation marks.

Suggestions from other forum members are welcomed. Smiley

Suggestions and tips from other fellas. Smiley
Your posts are better if they have these criteria :

1. Useful.
It helps others or has value.

2. You write them with a correct grammatical function.

3. They are written in proper punctuation.

4. On topic.
They must be always related to topics.

5. Unique.
    Must be different than others.

6. No copy-paste/plagiarism.

7. Easy to understand.
One extra quality would be: find a niche for yourself. Pick a section, grow your knowledge in it and you can become renowned in that field.
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Cursor issue on my notebook on: October 29, 2019, 06:10:49 PM
I guess everyone knows that what is cursor means which is the term used for mouse pointer and text blinking bar on a computer.Today I found that my mouse cursor moving on itself from one point to another,I noticed this happens for the recent days.I thought it could be accidental touch on the mousepad on my notebook but I visually saw that today the mouse cursor moving itself without any touch from myself and this also happens with 'caret' the text blinking bar which misplaces while I am typing something (even now).

I would like to know how to fix this and what could be the reason for this?
8  Economy / Exchanges / Beware of coinbase account closure! on: October 23, 2019, 03:53:08 PM

9  Other / Beginners & Help / Don't run for merits! on: October 16, 2019, 05:42:07 PM
This thing is in my mind for very long time now I decided to share with other forum members.

I can see lot of threads and guides for the newbie and other forum members says about "How to get merits",but is that necessary to chase merits? I never wanted to run behind merits because for me its like I am changing my attitude and posting behaviour to get something in return.Just be yourself and learn more about cryptos, why we wanted it and of course how to make money using cryptos.Help fellow forum members in the way you can,if you got recognized then merits will follow you up.

Ignore this topic if you didn't learn anything from this topic,I just wanted to say how I feels about getting merit. Smiley
10  Economy / Exchanges / Avoid money launderers on LBC on: October 09, 2019, 11:40:39 AM
Lot of new registered account on LBC trying to buy bitcoins at premium rates who were mostly laundering money from hacked bank accounts into bitcoins.

Here are the something things you should do if you don't want to get into any trouble.

  • Avoid trading with unverified accounts (accounts didn't verified their real name on LBC site).
  • Avoid trading newly registered accounts and low trading volumed accounts.
  • While you creating ads click check box of Real name required,ID verification required.
  • Have low trade limit of high risky payment method.
  • Never release btc before getting payment receipt (which is the only thing can help you to appeal against completed trade to LBC customer support).

More suggestions are welcomed by the community members to help the newbie traders on LBC.

13  Economy / Exchanges / Anyone faced this? on: September 01, 2019, 02:36:59 PM
I am doing trades on localbitcoin too often, today I got an issue while buying bitcoin.

I send the fiat money to the seller's bank account but he is not online since opened the trade,he got more than 500 trades that is why I didn't got any doubt about him.

Now I disputed the trade but LBC says there will be an response in 48 hours.

Lets imagine what if the seller never come online the trade will be in dispute or will be released to me.
14  Economy / Service Discussion / Localbitcoin tier verification deadline extended! :) on: August 22, 2019, 05:10:51 AM
Localbitcoin announced that user need to verify their tier before September 1 to continue trading if the limit exceeds but now they have extended it one more month for the users to complete the verification,I guess this is due to their internal errors while verification which takes weeks to get verified now they mentioned that verifaction forms are available for all tiers so get yourself verified guys if you are doing trading on LBC too often.

August 21st, 2019

The verification forms for all account Tiers have now been enabled. In order to ensure that every user will have able time to update their accountís status, LocalBitcoins has extended the deadline to provide Tier verification. Existing users will have until the 1st of October to upgrade their verification according to their accountís respective Tiers.

After the 1st of October, accounts that exceed their Tier transaction and trade volume limits and have not yet provided verification for the following Tier will be suspended from trading until the compatible verification is completed. Trade volume and incoming transaction volumes are calculated separately, i.e. your account moves into the next Tier when either your transaction or your trade volume (not their sum) reaches the current Tier limit. Volume data correspond to the last 12 months and it is updated hourly.

As a general rule, the documents accepted for verification must be valid internationally (ex. international passport and international driving license) and you can consult the list of accepted documents per country to see all valid options for your location. Verification with national documents emitted by Russian and Chinese authorities will start being processed at the end of August. Documents submitted as proof of address can be provided in several languages, but it is recommended to use a correspondence in Latin characters with your full address and your name written as in your LocalBitcoins account.
