1  Economy / Scam Accusations / [SCAM REPORT] Bitmart.com SCAM, stolen over $100k on: August 07, 2023, 07:59:04 PM
Beware, it is a fully SCAM exchange.
I just did search for a new exchange with futures trading and tested this one. First - they lies about his trade volume. Actually the order book is empty, I can't trade.
But when I tried to withdraw my funds (over $100k) I got error "Withdraw forbidden". Later I received the letter that they block my funds due to "anti-money laundering risk". I checked my bitcoin account with AML bot - it is Low Risk. They asked me for documents from where I received my funds.

I'm in bitcoin from 2012 (registered here from 2013 as you can see), most of my bitcoins doesn't have "documents". Most of exchanges I used already doesn't exists. But my bitcoins are clean.

So they just stolen over $100k
Stay away!

2  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Brain Wallet for BIP39 on: March 03, 2018, 01:22:14 PM
I strongly do not recommend use brain wallet for most users!

All modern hardware and software cryptowallets are using BIP39 backup mnemonic phrases. But what if you can’t store this key in a safe place? What if you are living in the country where authorities may confiscate all your papers? For example on December 15,  2017 agents from the Ukrainian Security Service (SSU) confiscated approximately 305 ETH from Anatoly Kaplan, CEO of the Russian bitcoin news resource ForkLog. What if you are a refugee and could be subject to illegal rummage?

Sometime the best storage for your keys is your brain. But it is very difficult to remember 12 or 24 random words. That is why I developed Brain-to-BIP converter.

https://brain2bip.com/

Using this tool you may always restore access to your cryptocurrency with any BIP39 hardware or software wallets like Ledger, Trezor, Blockchain.info, Breadwallet, Multibit, Bitcoin Core, Jaxx, etc. Moreover the external entropy from your secret phrase is increasing security of your wallet.

Just enter your long strong secret phrase and “restore” wallet using generated BIP39 mnemonic.
Don't use short passphrases as well as popular sayings, parts of songs, poems or mantras! Use only strong passphrases you can't forget.

Enjoy and be safe.
Thank you.

4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Brain passphrase for your hardware or software BIP39 wallet on: March 02, 2018, 11:22:57 PM
Using brain wallet is a very bad idea. You may forget passphrase, your short passphrase could be bruteforced, etc, etc.

5  Economy / Service Discussion / XAPO euro debit card. Experience, fees and limits. on: January 09, 2015, 04:22:49 PM
Hello,
I want to share my experience with XAPO debit card. I ordered EURO card 2-3 months ago, finally received.
What to say? It is amazing!!! It is exactly I looked for. It is a EUR card with current account in bitcoins.

- Zero fee on purchase! I have xapo account in BTC, when I do purchase they instantly convert required amount of bitcoins into euro. By good rate (it was higher, than kraken for example) with zero fee! No need to top up the card, I can spend all bitcoins I having on the xapo account.
- They took 2.5 euro for ATM withdraw Sad
- You have to verify your identity to increase limits:
  • ATM withdrawals (per transaction) increased from €200 to €1,000
  • ATM withdrawals (per day) increased from €400 to €2,000
  • Maximum charges (per day) increased from €2,500 to €10,000
  • Purchase amount (per lifetime) increased from €2,500 to 'no limit'
- For the verification you have to send scan of your ID and proof of address where the card was delivered to. I've done in 2 days.
- Works fine in internet (PayPal).
- After receiving you have to activate card calling to UK number, enter your data and listen the PIN. No other way to find out the PIN! Afterwards your may change PIN in ATM with $0.50 fee.

In this way I have very high limit bitcoin card. The card has a chip and printed name of the owner. It is important, because local merchant refuse for example ANX card without a chip and name.
Furthermore xapo has fast and responsible support service.
Recommend!

6  Other / Meta / Too many faucets on: January 07, 2015, 11:33:17 AM
Hi admins,
Is it possible to make additional sub-forum in Service Announcements for faucets and probably cloud hashing? I'm asking because it is too hard to find really good new btc projects due to faucets overspamming.
Thanks.
7  Economy / Speculation / Fixed Volume Candle Chart on: December 06, 2014, 08:33:13 PM
Hi,
Analyzing bitcoin candle chart you may see, that sometimes the price fluctuates with a very small volumes. Finally these fluctuations doesn't affect to trend, but spoil the chart.
I have the idea. What if we draw candle chart depended of volume, not time? Every candle corresponds to the fixed trade volume.

I've made first preview https://zerobit.co/charts/chart.html?vol=5000 (you may select volume).
What do you think? Is it a promising idea?
8  Local / Новички / Brain Wallet для Armory on: October 04, 2014, 02:26:17 PM

Root Key.

9  Bitcoin / Armory / (!) Armory Brain Wallet on: October 04, 2014, 12:27:39 PM
Hi all!
I like armory a lot. You can make a paper backup and restore whole your wallet in case of hdd failure or pc lost.
It is a great feature, but I really do not trust to paper. The paper could be stolen, lost, confiscated, burned, etc. I want to be sure I can restore my wallet at any time, even if all my papers are lost. I mean brainwallet. The one phrase restoring all my bitcoin addresses.

So I created an open source

Just enter a passphrase and you'll get a Root Key to restore (or create new one) wallet.
It is a client-side javascript application, no data leaves your computer. I use hash256(passphrase) as a base to generate Root Key. The Root Key generation procedure (makeSixteenBytesEasy()) was rewritten to javascript using original Armory code.

You still can make fragmented backup, print root key if you like and use all armory's features. But additionally you can restore your wallet using your passphrase! And we use your password's entropy to create wallet, I think it is not so bad too. Just use long several-words phrases.

Download for local use.

Hello, just want to warn others about user zolace
I've been scammed for $250, I didn't receive my money back as he claim here (he closed the topic, so I can't reply and explain). Just don't deal with this person.
SCAMMER!

Update.
People say I can't open such topics without a proof. Ok, the evidence here:
This is my PMs inbox: http://youtu.be/pwr0uWMpK-k
This is txid I've paid:  https://blockchain.info/tx/549183998e8f53afe7e894f1a11c6732e4589798754aba49b9103c6ea598000b

You can see I got bitcoin address at 12:12:31
The transaction was registered in bitcoin network at 12:35:03
At 12:47:11 zolace said it was 'wrong' address.

He doesn't response to my PMs, he closed topic where he offers cards (he posted message that I received back my coins, but erased later).
If this is not enough, I can give access to my PMs to administrator.
11  Economy / Speculation / ⚪ Bubble chart analysis (what price expected?) on: November 17, 2013, 05:53:50 PM
Hello,
I found some correlations in bitcoin price growing in April and now. Just see scaled comparison I made (green line - current price):

So what max. price we are expecting now? The April falling was provoked by DDOS attack to mtgox. Now we have more independent exchangers, more people involved in trade etc. Waiting for hot week!
