1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / dogecoin mining troubles on: February 20, 2014, 09:19:04 PM
My mining software won't connect to dogecoin. I haven't changed any settings and I was mining fine yesterday. I come out and check on things this morning but neither Multiminer nor GUIMiner Scrypt will connect to any dogecoin mining pool. Anyone else having issues?
2  Other / Beginners & Help / blockchain question on: January 24, 2014, 12:54:12 PM
I've been mining Dogecoin since yesterday on the pool https://doge.hashfaster.com/. Today I cashed out my earnings directly to my deposit address on Coinex. Here is the block chain address for my transaction:

http://dogechain.info/address/DMbv2Z4QA9X9BskE5RHYkYCWcHj8fHB82y

This has been about 2 hours ago and still no notification of it on Coinex. Their contact support form isn't working so I can't ask them about it. My money has disappeared into a black hole. Is there some way I can tell from the blockchain how many confirmations this transaction has received thus far?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How to solo-mine on: September 29, 2013, 03:27:43 PM
I want to know how to solo-mine and should I solomine bytecoins? It's a SHA-256 currency that's more profitable than Bitcoins at the moment, but it has no functioning or active pools that I can find. I have seven USB block erupters running at ~2300 MH/s. Would it be worth my while to solo-mine? And how do I do it?

I'm using Multiminer as my mining client.
4  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Multiminer not detecting my USB block erupters on: September 28, 2013, 02:39:50 PM
I currently mine scrypt with my GPU via Multiminer, and mine SHA-256 with my USB block erupters via bfgminer. I'd like to have them all in Multiminer but it doesn't detect my USB block erupters.

I installed Zadig as per instructions on this tutorial: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=270305.0

Multi-miner still wouldn't detect my devices, and now an unhandled exception error pops up every time I start Multi-miner. It still mines just fine with my GPU, I just have to see this error-message every time I start the program.

I reinstalled these drivers again: http://www.silabs.com/products/mcu/pages/usbtouartbridgevcpdrivers.aspx so that my block erupters would work in bfgminer.

I'd like to be able to do my bitmining in Multiminer because sometimes Zetacoin or PPcoin are slightly more profitable than Bitcoin and I'd like to be able to do automatic currency switching.
5  Bitcoin / Pools / 50BTC Pool Settings on: September 22, 2013, 03:07:33 PM
I want to mine on 50BTC pool with my USB Block Erupters and BFGMiner. I want to exclude my video-card, which I am using on guiminer-scrypt for other currencies. Having trouble finding the proper settings to use. Can't find any mention on the 50BTC website as to the Host Name, the Port Number or What my worker password is.

Are there any 50BTC miners out there?
6  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / BFGMiner getting "Stratum from pool 0 requested work update" on: September 22, 2013, 01:54:02 AM
What does it mean if I keep getting the message "Stratum from pool 0 requested work update" over and over again in BFGminer?
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Ixcoin Window Not Showing on: September 18, 2013, 08:31:19 PM
I am using Windows 7 64-bit.

When I try to start Ixcoin the window doesn't open and it doesn't show up in the system tray.

When I press Ctrl+Alt+Delete Ixcoin shows up under the Process tab but not under the Applications tab.

What do?
8  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Trouble with Anker 9-port USB hub on: September 13, 2013, 12:37:51 PM
I got a USB hub in preparation for some ASIC mining, but my computer isn't detecting it. I've upgraded all my USB drivers with Driverboost, upgraded my bios as well. I just get a power light on the hub, but when I plug it into a USB port, any USB port, it isn't being detected by my system. What do?
9  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Trouble setting up USB Block Erupters with cgminer on: September 09, 2013, 12:26:26 AM
I just got my first two USB block erupters and I'm trying to configure them in cgminer. I'm following the instructions here: http://bitcoinrigs.org/mining-resource/how-to-setup-asic-block-erupter/

I put the following command into the target of a desktop shortcut:

C:\cgminer\cgminer-nogpu.exe -o mint.bitminter.com:8332 -u username_workername -p password --icarus-options 115200:1:1 --icarus-timing 3.0=100 -S //./COM3 -S //./COM5

And when I double click it, the command prompt just opens and closes again. So I open the command prompt directly, running as administrator, type in the same command and get the following error message:

[2013-09-08 18:17:23] cgminer-nogpu.exe: -S: unrecognized option

What gives?

PS - Also would like to know the correct syntax for assigning each USB Block Erupter to a separate worker.
10  Other / Beginners & Help / Calgarian looking for fellow miners on: September 08, 2013, 02:10:17 AM
I started out by mining Litecoins for ~3 months with a couple of 7950 cards until sparks started shooting out of one of them. So I converted my Litecoins into Bitcoins and used them to buy a couple of ASIC USB Block Erupters instead. I'm here to hook up with fellow Calgarians and do group purchases of ASIC miners in order to get some bulk discounts and make things a little cheaper.

Frankly I want to get the hell out of the nine-to-five grind and get my boss off of my ass. I want to become completely self-sufficient with bitcoins alone. I'm exploring every avenue of crypto-currency profitability from mining to cloud hashing to lending to speculating. Primarily at this point though I'm trying to get a really good mining rig off the ground and I want to network with anyone in my area who wants to do group buys.

Hope I meet a few good contacts here on Bitcointalk.
