1  Economy / Computer hardware / WTS Bitmain S7 (last batch with 2 fans)--SOLD on: May 02, 2016, 10:58:32 PM
I received this a little over a month ago.  Was too busy with tax season to really give it a go.  Now that I have, it's too loud for the house.  1.1btc and you supply the shipping label.  It's in central MO, USA so shipping shouldn't be bad to anywhere in US.  Of course escrow with OgNasty is fine.

Shipping from 65203 in original box.
2  Bitcoin / Hardware / S-7 HW Error Problems on: April 09, 2016, 02:25:29 AM
Got an S-7 last week and seemed to work fine for a few days.  Now after a bit it starts getting extreme HW errors.  I can reboot and it will go again for a bit.  Temps are all 53c or less, 3 plat 1200w server psus, no x's on boards.   Any ideas?  I've tried latest firmware and dropping from 700 to 550mh, but still getting way too many errors.
3  Economy / Computer hardware / 2x S5 Units hosted at pcfli 0.15btc each on: February 24, 2016, 03:22:53 AM
2 units up for renewal hosted by pcfli. $135 each.  You can verify with Li and I'll cover my portion of hosting fee until units turned over to you.
4  Economy / Computer hardware / 6 Cube Neptune - 3.8-4.5Th on CKpool Looking for a Price Check. on: January 15, 2016, 02:36:55 AM
I've got a 6 cube setup that I have had running since last spring.  I've got them all tweaked to not run too hot on the DC side so not getting full output.  All dies are working and a 6 port controller.
I have not been keeping up like I have in the past so not sure where the market is now.  Looking at the postings here, it seems its all over the place for $/gh and not really a good correlation to the w/gh.

Thanks.

5  Bitcoin / Legal / Are there any US exchanges that sell Bitcoin to FinCEN registered users? on: September 19, 2015, 06:07:24 PM
Last month, Coinbase decided to close my trading activity with them after being with them from the beginning.  This was due to me labeling some of my transfers as going to a bitcoin wallet that holds my Skyhook vending machine funds.  I'm pretty sure there's some fine print somewhere and I take responsibility for missing it, but as far as I can tell, there is no exchange in the US that is allowing MSBs to use their service.

Any ideas?  I limit transaction amounts so as not to deal with too much paperwork, but do monitor the machine.
6  Bitcoin / Legal / Coinbase--'Newly adopted Policy' on: August 13, 2015, 01:51:43 AM
Anyone happen to know what this may be?  I've been a Coinbase user since they first opened.  They notified me today that they are shutting my account down due to me having transactions from my Coinbase wallet to my Blockchain wallet that I use to fund my Skyhook BTM.  I'm guessing they feel I am a MSB since I exchange bitcoins for USD.

According to FinCEN, I am not a MSB because they are my bitcoins and I'm transferring them straight to another person and not to a third party.  What really blows about all of this is that I tried to do everything correctly (ie talked to FinCen, talked to State Regulators, etc) plus if I hadn't labeled my transactions as 'xfer to skyhook' they would not have said anything.

If I'm out in left field let me know, because I really am trying to keep everything legit.
7  Bitcoin / Mining / How Big Does Exhaust Fan Need to Be? on: July 11, 2015, 08:49:46 PM
I've been looking at some industrial warehouses and thinking about proper ventilation of a farm. Just looking for a rule of thumb kind of thing.  If I've got 300 miners with 120mm fans, that would be moving around 30,000cfm, assuming 100cfm/fan?  Since that would all be hot air, I'd want to exhaust it outside.  So does that mean I'd need at least a 30,000cfm exhaust or is there degradation in calculations like db levels?
8  Economy / Service Discussion / Bitcoin Nodes and Broadcasting Transactions on: July 02, 2015, 03:24:57 AM
So I received one of the bitnodes and fired it up on the network.  What a neat little box.  Not being 100% savvy about how the bitcoin network handles traffic, I was surprised to see that my little node has already had some transactions that it relayed first according to blockchain.info.

How did my node receive a transaction first?  I've read about the broadcasting and such, but wondered if it had to do with proximity when finding peers to broadcast to or what?

A non technical response works Smiley
9  Bitcoin / Hardware / Cooling Costs for 50KW of Miners on: June 14, 2015, 09:47:08 PM
This might be the wrong thread, but looking at what the cooling costs would be in setting up a larger mining farm.  Mainly just generalizations.  I realize there are 3.432 BTU/w but does that really translate in real world as to needing 50KW x 3.432 BTU to keep the units cool?  Any guidance or rules of thumb would be helpful.

BTW, what I've come up with so far seems to be figure an additional 35% electricity for cooling.
10  Economy / Computer hardware / 15+TH Mining Farm -- Ideas on price? on: May 31, 2015, 09:25:44 PM
So I have to decide whether to sell my farm or move it.  Here's what it consists of:

10 9 Spondoolies SP20
10 Intel Plat 1200w PSU with breakout boards and pcie cables
3   24a Compaq PDU
10 PSU - PDU cables

Not counting shipping, any ideas on price?
11  Bitcoin / Group buys / Bitmain S5 -- $362.50 You supply Shipping Label. USA Only Any interest?? on: May 15, 2015, 02:39:37 AM
I see on Bitmain's website that if you purchase between 21-25 units, the price with shipping is $362.47.  I was thinking of ordering a batch if that's a good price for folks and there was some interest.  Not knowing everyone's shipping costs, I'll wait to hear some feedback.

Of course you should use escrow!!
12  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] 20TH/s--5xSP20, 4xS5, 2xNeptune (Original Shipping Boxes) -- USA Only on: May 01, 2015, 08:03:59 PM
Had to shut down my mining farm as I've lost my work space.  These are all working great. If need be, I can post pics.  Looking for best offer.  I've got them listed separately on Ebay, but figured here would be a better start.  And NO!!! I don't expect Ebay prices from board members just reasonable!

Of course escrow, you pay.

Shipped from Missouri, USA -- USA only please.

14  Economy / Computer hardware / WTS KnC Neptune Cubes (currently non-hashing) on: April 19, 2015, 11:27:54 PM
I've got 4-5 Cubes with dies that I can't get started.  They will power on and are modifiable in the GUI, just haven't had luck and getting them to fire up yet.  If anyone has an interest, I'm listing them at $125 each including priority shipping in US.  I'll send the Ribbon Cable and Y-cable with it.  I have no idea if that's a good deal or not, so if not, just ignore this Smiley

16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Question for anyone with a Skyhook ATM on: April 14, 2015, 05:05:27 PM
Just received one and it keeps turning the nexus off saying to plug in the charger.  Is this because it has sat for a while and needs a full charge before going?  Doesn't it run off the external power anyway?

Is there a default admin password?  Anyone have a setup manual they can email?

Looks like I've got it up and running.
17  Economy / Computer hardware / Jupiter,Saturn,Mercury case and 1 ASIC Module on: April 10, 2015, 12:41:10 AM
KnC case for Mercury.  Also used for Jupiter & Saturns.  Has one hashing module.  I've scavaged the BBB & controller.  Rather than a land fill, if someone wants it, send me a shipping label.
18  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Any Money to be Made in Hosting??? on: April 06, 2015, 02:41:25 AM
I've been looking around at having some of my miners hosted and realized I'm paying less than most hosting facilities.  I'm only on a standard commercial rate and am paying $.0751/kwh after all fees and taxes are added. Industrial rates would be even cheaper.

I know I'd have to partner with the technical folks to get one going and maintained, but are they really worthwhile?  Btw, this is in Missouri near the nuclear power plant.

Thoughts?  Suggested reading?
19  Economy / Computer hardware / WTS Eruptor Cube (4 Boards) on: April 04, 2015, 12:23:54 AM
WTS would be loosely worded Wink

I was cleaning out my office cabinet and found this left over.  It's a block eruptor cube with only 4 boards instead of 6 (2 empty slots).  If anyone is interested, just make me an offer. I'm guessing shipping is more than  it's worth.  Original packaging 9x9x9 box weighs 5lbs.  You can post here or PM me if you are interested.
20  Economy / Computer hardware / WTB KnC Controllers..Mercury, Saturn, Jupiter, Neptune. on: April 02, 2015, 12:23:59 AM
I'm in need of a couple working controllers to run some extra neptune cubes.  I'm located in the US.

PM me if you have any to sell.
