1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Choosing Masternodes Hosting Service Providers on: December 29, 2018, 06:50:51 AM
The market for hosting is expanding due to the rising interest of people looking at masternode coins. This is a guideline of what service providers are available to the crypto currency industry when investors look at getting their own Full Masternode setup or hosted.

For those of you who are new to the topic:
Masternodes require a VPS to run 24 hours 7 days a week with the full blockchain of the coin that is made to process transactions that will secure the network. You would then configure the full Masternode VPS to receive rewards that will be sent directly to the wallet located on your PC or laptop.

The first step is to make sure you research the Masternode coin to the fullest potential. Take as much time as you need to research the project, developers, road-map, and do all your investment due-diligence.

Next step - Research and Choose a Masternode Hosting Service provider.

If you aren't technical with Linux VPS experience, you can look for a Masternode Hosting VPS provider.  If you want setup or troubleshooting help and want an Expert to help with setup - you can choose that as an option.

Masternode Service providers are available to support you such as:
https://SetupMasternodes.com who do most of the Technical work for you

1) Setup only on your own Masternode VPS.
2) Setup, Hosting, and Management of the Masternode VPS

The choice of Masternode services providers are up to you. The options are available for anyone that isn't technically experienced with VPS.

Remember: Never, ever, share your local Latop/PC wallet private keys or coins with any service provider

Let's discuss Masternodes!

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What is your understanding of a Masternode? on: November 12, 2018, 05:59:30 AM
I believe there is lots of misunderstandings happening of what is a Masternode.

Please feel free to share your version and understanding of a masternode

Article from StakeAndNodes.com:
A masternode is an always on server which secures the network by locking up a significant number of coins as collateral to participate in the consensus protocol for a decentralized network. The coins are "locked up" in the network and while functioning as a masternode the coins can't be moved. Keep in mind that no one is required to function as a masternode any longer than they desire to.

The rewards(ROI) allocated to masternodes are normally significantly higher than staking only but this varies by each cryptocurrency. To run a masternode you are normally required to run a high uptime server(VPS), masternode wallet program on the server and lock up exactly the required collateral amount (e.g. DASH is 1000 Dash coins). There are services(like NodeShare) that make masternode hosting easier for inexperienced users once the collateral amount is obtained for a nominal service fee.

5  Economy / Economics / Mining vs Masternodes - How do they compare? on: November 12, 2018, 04:48:25 AM
I wanted to share the economics and logistics for those who want to know the differences between Mining vs Masternodes and how they compare, and identify the differences between those two.

Masternodes is a newer concept, it started with the release of Dash Masternodes in 2015

With Masternodes, you earn an income on a regular basis based on the Payout structure provided by each independent coin developers. We recommend you research what the Developers have programmed as a payout structure for the particular masternode you wish to run.

The differences between Mining and Masternodes are as follows:
Mining requires Electricity charged at a high cost, and Physical Mining Equipment.
Masternodes requires a VPS, and ownership for the required amount of coins to run a masternode.

Some coins require 1,000 and they can go up to 500,000 coins required to run a Masternode.

When it comes to mining, you do not need to purchase a set requirement of coins, instead, you would put your investment towards hardware that you need.  I hope this gives some insight to this community when it comes to defining Masternodes

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [WARNING] WATCH OUT FOR MASTERNODE SCAMS THAT WILL STEAL YOUR COINS on: May 05, 2018, 08:58:34 PM
There are users who are reporting that coins have been stolen from their wallets because they gave someone access to their SERVER and REMOTE access to the WALLET. The problem here starts where the person can easily withdraw your coins through the server or wallet.

How do you prevent this? It is simple. NEVER ALLOW anyone access to your server or masternode wallet.

If you are seeking help to get your masternode up and running, you do not need to give the person any access.

No access is needed for this service, and you get full one-on-one support for a small one-time fee.  Alternatively, people can use the telegram, discord, forum chats on the altcoins they want to run masternodes for usually without a cost. You have two options.

We just want to put this announcement out before things get worse and more scams happen.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Good Bye Mining Farms ... Say Hello to Masternodes on: April 22, 2018, 04:53:02 AM
People are discussing the differences between Mining Farms with Hardware vs Masternodes for coin generation.

We are seeing a shift in people  that are not even considering the mining option of a masternode.  This is why that people will decide that coin generation makes more sense with masternodes.

It is becoming a global discussion in the masternode place.  Our team is in place to assist and support those looking to setup their masternodes. With our help and guidance, you can get assistance towards it, in a real-time fashion, and a more informative guideline.

13  Economy / Services / Accepting BTC Payments for Masternode Setup & Troubleshooting Support on: March 30, 2018, 02:33:46 AM
The SetupMasternodes team has launched the thread as of March 28 at a discounted rate for the first 25 customers that sign up for the service.

If you've looked into getting a masternode, and have put it on the back of your TO DO LIST because of how difficult it can be, then you should definitely give this service a chance. It can be time consuming without the right experience with Servers and Masternodes.

I welcome you to ask any questions here or in the ANN thread. BTC Payments are accepted via CoinPayments Merchant System

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Tips for New Altcoins: REQUIRES Research - Here's How on: March 25, 2018, 07:57:39 PM
There are many new altcoins hitting the market. I would like to give you my words of wisdom regarding choosing an altcoin to support, invest, or work with. Feel free to discuss additional methods of research and due-diligence.

Here are some of my guidelines as follows:
1. Read through the OP ANN thread
2. Read community member posts, and ask questions about the project and current developments.
3. Review the source code on github (thoroughly research it)
4. Run the wallet on a VM (prevent malicious activities)
5. Does it provide any new value today, right now? I am not talking about theories or potential theories.
6. Peer review - What do your friends around you think about this coin? Share it with them.

I believe most of these altcoins are launching with POTENTIAL VALUE in the (FUTURE). I prefer to go after altcoins that already have Technology, at the time of launch, and provide value today. These are my guidelines and rules of thumb for research of new altcoins.

Remember: Do your own home work and due-diligence.

What are your methods?
