1  Bitcoin / Mining support / Rockminer/Fury driver issue on: November 22, 2014, 01:11:38 AM
Hey guys,

 I just got a new Rockminer New RBox. I also have 2 Gawminer Fury's. I can get them to work separately, but when I update the driver for either. All of them change to the same driver. I need COM on the Gawminer Fury's and  WinUSB for the Rockminer.

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

Spent a few hours looking for help. Is there any way to change the driver on one device that will not effect others?

I figured it out.  Tongue

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Solo mining question on: January 07, 2014, 06:20:59 AM
I'm only running 360 Kh/s so I am not expecting anything really. I am viewing mining currently as a hobby until I can upgrade with more hardware. I'm not looking for comments on how I'm wasting my time running anything solo.

Now I see this in the Console with every Alt-Coin I try to Solo-mine.

 Started cgminer 3.1.0
 Probing for an alive pool
 Network diff set to 1.39M
 No suitable long-poll found for http://127.0.0.1:9332 <--- this the line I have a question about
 Network diff set to 1.39M
 New block detected on network
 Network diff set to 1.39M
 New block detected on network

Is that telling me that the solo-mining is not functioning properly?

I have this in the conf file
rpcuser=xxxxx
rpcpassword=xxxxx
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=9332
daemon=1
server=1
gen=0

Also, when I Set Coin Data Directory. Do I click the main folder? or one of the sub-folders?

For example:

Bitcoin
  +Blocks
       -Index
    Chainstate
    Database

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Hardware advice for 1-2 BitCoin a month for the newbs on: December 21, 2013, 09:07:10 AM
  Being new to the bitcoin scene. What sort of hardware am I going to be looking to buy to have a steady flow 1-2 bitcoin a month? Currently I only have a 8800GT@ 28Mhash. I know I'll need much more than that, but I'd like to have a better idea of hardware I should be upgrading to. My whole PC honestly needs to be upgraded, but I figured start with the Vid card first.

AMD TriCore @ 3.5
4GB DDR3
cheapO Gigabyte Mobo
PC Power and cooling 750Watt PSU
8800GT - can't knock it to bad, it's been a trooper

What I'm currently at for upgrades:

Radeon R9 270 2GB - 1280 Stream Processors http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121823

Radeon HD 7850 2GB- 1024 Stream Processors http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150641

wondering if the difference in the Effective Memory Clock is going make that much of a difference between the two.

 I used to be heavily in to overclocking and Folding@Home. I'm used to hours of adjusting and setting up software/hardware configs so I'm fairly confident with that aspect. I've spent the last few days looking through the forums for threads on this. So this has probably been asked hundreds of times and I'm not seeing it. =P

 I've always been an Nvidia fanboy, but with this mining that obviously isn't going to help my end goal. Any suggestions, tips would be great.
