1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Have you seen gambling advertisements on TV? Opinion. on: September 26, 2023, 09:10:59 PM
While watching TV with my kid, I've watched various advertisements of gambling nature (let's say for example, Rummy123, RummyCircle, A23 Rummy, etc.)
These are all specifically Indian ads, but I'm sure you may have seen various gambling advertisements, some banners at boundaries when cricket is ongoing, even in any other sport. How would a kid ignore those things, they might just come and ask you about what is it. Till when can we lie to them? Don't you think that the frequency of such ads must be less in order to let the kids not get trapped into gambling and don't do it at such a small age?
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Never gamble in front of your kids. on: September 20, 2023, 11:58:32 AM
Hey gamblers' community, hope you're all doing great.
I wanted to convey my message here that gambling in front of our kids may put adverse effects on their growing minds and they may also take the wrong path and start gambling (either by asking you personally for funds or by stealing it in order to fulfill their gambling cravings).

I'm sharing this because I saw this issue with my kiddo who was once watching me gamble at a website playing blackjack and she started asking me more about the game. Then one day, she wanted to play it herself and asked me if she can go for it and I said "no, it's not your legal age to go for such games". So, it's better to keep our kiddos away from gambling and let them focus on their studies, else it'd actually ruin everything for the whole family if the kid takes the wrong path.
3  Economy / Service Discussion / What will a mixer do under the mentioned situation? on: April 28, 2023, 09:00:51 PM
We all know about hacks, scams, password leaks and all the shit that's happening in the crypto world and we also see lots of scammers using mixers to eradicate the possibility of them being caught at all (though there are traces, but using mixer saves these scammers at the least, not intentionally).

Now, let's say that a hack happened some day at some exchange for about $300 million (or even $3 million, just e.g.), and the exchange immediately opens up about the hack. For a second, just think that the scammer keeps the coins in his wallet and doesn't move them for some time, however FBI and other major authorities are aware of this hack and they give orders to mixers that if a specific address is provided to the mixers (if they know exactly on which address the hacker has kept the coins), and they ask them to immediately report them about the same, then let me ask some questions:

1. Do mixers know where they're getting a deposit from?
2. If yes, will they co-operate here with the officials and let them know about the deposit?
3. If they do, how will they stop the scammer from moving his funds out of their mixer?
4  Economy / Speculation / Thinking about what caused the flash crash? on: April 26, 2023, 08:35:17 PM
I guess I've got the reason to this question.

What happened?
BTC crashed right from $30k to ~$27200 and many traders got liquidated in just a matter of hours (mostly the recent 2 hours during which the dump took place).

When?
April 26, 2023

https://www.blockchain.com/explorer/addresses/btc/1FeexV6bAHb8ybZjqQMjJrcCrHGW9sb6uF

The wallet of the Mt. Gox hacker ☝️
Please see into it, it has been transacting big since last week and it looks like this wallet, being under the possession of US Government or Mt Gox itself, has now been moving the funds.
Either this caused panic, or they sent the coins to some of the traders who lost their btc during the hack, and the traders might be causing this dump.

One more thing to watch for:
DXY moving upwards will be the continuation for BTC to dump more.
5  Other / Beginners & Help / Do you share with your friends and relatives about your crypto holdings? Beware! on: April 04, 2023, 10:31:00 AM
You've been warned that sharing about your crypto holdings to your friends or even family may put your investments in danger. There have been cases where those people who shared about their current crypto holdings or positions became victims of possible hacks of either their PCs/laptops or their accounts too where no 2FA was enabled. Even if your friends/relatives are so good, it is said that even walls have eyes and ears. So it's better that you share such things very carefully so that your left hand doesn't know what your right one did. TBH, I'd never suggest to share about your crypto holdings at all because it's all about your privacy and if you open it up voluntarily, then what's the point of using crypto?
6  Other / Meta / @TryNinja Satoshi gifted me 50 merits, where are they? on: April 01, 2023, 02:31:19 AM

8  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / How badly can natural disasters stop mining operations? on: December 29, 2022, 08:48:43 PM
I read an article which says that Bitcoin mining hashrate fell more than 13% in one single day, but yeah it recovered back since and is almost near to where it was. Bitcoin mining difficulty reached an ATH of 35.36T and it's being said that it may drop to more than 7-10% due to the US winter storms.

On Chrismas eve, BTC’s hash rate fell over 40% because major miners in the U.S. had shut operations due to the winter storm. While the hash rate soon recovered on Christmas day, peaking at around 247.87 EH/s, it has gradually declined since.*

The above mentioned statement shows that natural calamities can definitely hinder towards the growth of mining industry and even show such big plunges in the numbers. Do you think that some day, if miners are to stop their mining for a longer period, maybe a week or a month (very least/rare chances of this to happen), will it become an opportunity for small miners to merge and mine and try their luck at finding a block when the big numbers are out of the game for some time?

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / PolkaDOT on its way to $100. on: November 05, 2021, 09:43:26 PM
After reaching an ATH of ~$50 in May, 2021 and a decline to $10 in July, DOT managed to get back up and running towards a new ATH and it crossed the $55 mark till now. But while seeing many shit projects making even 100x, I believe that DOT has a chance to make at least 10x of that $10 decline and continue its parabolic run until it reaches $100 based on the recent PolkaDOT Parachain (Slot) Auctions being conducted. Below is the weekly chart posted which looks like an amazing opportunity in this coin and can give great returns during these two months. I'm parabullish (parabolic-ally bullish) on DOT, what are your thoughts?

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Making the most from this bull run. on: October 30, 2021, 05:39:38 PM
I went through palle11's thread - Don't lose your profit unnecessarily
I thought I must create another thread to share on what do I think about the next 2 months in crypto as well as what to do to get out with maximum profits once we end up trading this bull run.

I believe that these 2 months are going to be extremely bullish for mass crypto, thanks to mass adoption, institutions which are diversifying their investments as well as media and especially Governments of those countries that have thought and regulated or are in talks of regulating crypto in their respective countries.

If you believe in a project and you know it's microcap and has a lot of potential, don't just give up on it once you see 2-3x. I've got an example for you here, know about Bloktopia?
I'm not endorsing about it but it gave more than 250x to its investors till now and still not stopping. Who knows you may also land on a coin that may give you a life changing opportunity? When you buy a coin and if it doubles in price, simply take our your capital and let the whole profits be in play. Who knows what your destiny will fetch you?

I also invested in PinkPanda and was in 20x profits but waited for longer and didn't sell, so my profits halved. Then I bought O3 and it dumped which is why I'm also on my journey to making something huge this year.
14  Economy / Trading Discussion / Have you ever traded (crypto) volatility index? on: October 27, 2021, 05:11:31 PM
For those who don't know about this term, below is an explanation:
Crypto Volatility Index (CVI) is the first-of-its-kind decentralized Crypto Volatility Index for the crypto market. The CVI allows users to hedge themselves against market volatility and impermanent loss. CVI is a full-scale decentralized ecosystem that brings the sophisticated and very popular “market fear index” into the crypto market. It is created by computing a decentralized volatility index from cryptocurrency option prices, together with analyzing the market’s expectation of future volatility.

More at: https://defipulse.com/crypto-volatility-index

Anyways, I'd like to know about anybody's experience who ever traded crypto volatility index or even forex markets based volatility index? I've learnt that making money on a constant basis is easier by trading this than going for risky altcoins' futures trades. While holding bigger risks, this index trading also gives us highest rewards if done properly.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / First Bitcoin Futures ETF Trades Nearly $1 Billion in One Day on: October 19, 2021, 10:28:45 PM
One of the most popular online crypto news portal Decrypt shared an article in which you can find how hungry investors traded the first ever ProShares' Bitcoin Strategy ETF and crossed $280 million in volume in just 20 minutes. As well, storm didn't stop here as the rally in volume continued till it reached nearly $1 billion ($994 million as reported by Bloomberg) on the first day of its trading, being the first ever ETF to cross that mark and breaking all the records in terms of being traded in one day with this huge volume. How do you feel about this?
16  Economy / Economics / Aren't we the reason why BTC is becoming too much centralized? on: June 17, 2021, 11:28:32 PM
So whenever Elon Musk tweets, we panic sell.
Whenever China says something like they'll stop mining and add some extra official shit to it, we panic sell.
When USA says their investors will need to disclose their crypto holdings over a certain amount, we panic sell.

On every panicking news, we panic sell.
They create enough FUD, and we panic sell.

I know I've used the "panic sell" so many times, but have you, for God's sake, ever imagined with a cool mind that whenever we panic sell during shakeouts in the markets, we are actually giving away our BTC to those big institutions who are willing to snatch it away from us, yeah I mean it, every single drop of BTC seems to be taken away from us and it'll be no longer an average guy's BTC which was Satoshi's vision (don't pull me on this, understand the emotions). So if it goes into the hands of these institutions and governments completely, where will we stand? Nowhere. Why don't we understand that it's all more of an intrigue well thought out to wipe out every single BTC hodler (even the smallest one out there) and take away the control from the hands of common people whom Satoshi Nakamoto left BTC with.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Do you know about BlindBoxes project? on: May 08, 2021, 07:48:51 PM
I've been following this project and can see that their current marketcap is just $58M which is very less compared to many shitcoins (one even reaching a few billion dollars marketcap). I think $BLES (BlindBoxes) have great potential for a rise in price as they even have their own staking portal available with very huge APR. Do you know anything about this project? Please share.
18  Economy / Service Discussion / So, gate.io needs KYC from me before allowing withdrawals? on: May 07, 2021, 07:35:03 PM
I tried to withdraw some funds I sent there to trade some startup based coins and got some good profit. Now when I'm trying to withdraw my coins from there and even ready to pay their hefty fees they're charging on even the cheapest coins (5 trx, yes it's big for me compared to others who take just 1). Does gate.io need its users to mandatorily do the KYC before going for the withdrawals?
19  Economy / Speculation / Don't buy this dip yet! on: March 22, 2021, 10:55:09 PM
As you all can see, markets have dumped very quick with BTC in a loss of around 6% because of the sudden dip. When we don't know why this happened, let's talk about the technicals and see which area could be the best for BTC to be bought.

It's creating a triangle in 4H but that's not looking in the favor of BTC and could bring it to its major support at around $52k. But hodl your breath, it's not over yet. If it's broken down, there will be more opportunities for shorts to pull it down between $47k and $43k and if it doesn't hold there too, the dump will further take the price to eat the liquidity near $36k after which it'll begin its run again.
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Have you ever lost a bet in this way? on: March 03, 2021, 08:47:24 PM
I used to gamble in a different way till we got introduced with a feature called "Cashout" which wasn't there for few years on crypto gambling sites. Now, whenever you make bets, not some average or tipped ones but high confidence bets, you see that you've already won and the odds that you placed your bet on (which could be higher than, let's say 1.50x) and it has dropped to 1.01x, will you use your "Cashout" feature and leave / lose a few % of profit just because you fear that the game can still change? Or you'll just go with the flow and let the game run, and you'll wait till the end to get complete profit?

Now, my main question,
What if you didn't cashout your potential winnings and then suddenly, the game changes and let's say that you placed a bet on a Soccer match between Team A and B and you believe that Team A will be the winner (based on less odds and past performances), the score is 1-0 and time is 89 minutes. Now, if Team B manages to score one goal at the last minute and set the score to 1-1, won't you regret that you were so close that you must've cashed out your bet, but lost big due to that last minute goal? This happened to me a few times and I bet it may also have happened with many of you. So, have you ever lost a bet in this way?
