3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Build quark - ugh, not work, waste life on: December 01, 2013, 04:25:29 AM
OK I downloaded the zip source from github. Followed the readmes, tried qmake, tried qtcreator - both give errors.

Does this thing actually work ?

I get a load of this using qmake ::

Project MESSAGE: Building with UPNP support
sh: 1: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/bin/lrelease: not found
RCC: Error in 'src/qt/bitcoin.qrc': Cannot find file 'locale/bitcoin_af_ZA.qm'
RCC: Error in 'src/qt/bitcoin.qrc': Cannot find file 'locale/bitcoin_ar.qm'
RCC: Error in 'src/qt/bitcoin.qrc': Cannot find file 'locale/bitcoin_bg.qm'
....etc etc

and I get

quark-master/src/qt/bitcoin.cpp:5: error: QApplication: No such file or directory

with qtcreator

Nice person tell me what I do wrong ?

4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / partial wallet recovery usable ? on: November 26, 2013, 11:51:23 AM
I formatted a drive with some coin on it, so I ran pytools and it gave me a partial wallet, which just seems to contain gibberish and fragments of hex. The bitcoin client won't accept it. Is there any way to get the keys with a hex editor ?

10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Bitcoin through tor, secure connections to pools. on: June 08, 2011, 01:17:07 PM
I read the bitcoin and Tor wiki, which seems easy enough to do except for secure transit through that last unencrypted node.

Can I make bitcoin completely secure?

Can I connect to mining pools with SSL, https and wotnot?
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Use faulty cards? on: June 05, 2011, 07:00:22 PM
Is it possible to use faulty cards for mining, given that some functionality may not be needed on all cards in a rig- such as visual output etc.?
