1  Economy / Service Discussion / Recovery program beginning in January for PB Mining customers. on: December 09, 2014, 09:51:08 PM
Unfortunately the extreme harassment and threats since the posting of a Facebook profile with friends/family information has lead to some horrible losses thanks to some very shady people with unreasonable demands.  This is an attempt to reach out and give customers what is left, even if it means liquidating personal assets to help.  I will start the process now of looking at customers on a case-by-case basis and doing what I can to help.  Any refunds in December will be aimed at those who have suffered "extreme" losses due to reduced payout.  I will begin to look at the remaining majority of accounts in January.

Questions may go unanswered for awhile, but that is because there is a lot of work to do.  Please be patient.  Unfortunately it will be impossible to make everyone happy but a very honest attempt will be made.

For those who are wondering, the owner is not laughing all the way to Mexico.  Losses have been substantial due to complete invasion of privacy and some very harsh blackmail that followed thereafter, but there will be a strong attempt to make things right even if it is unsuccessful.

4  Economy / Games and rounds / PBMining 1 TH/s HALLOWEEN Giveaway! on: September 22, 2014, 12:39:46 PM
1TH/S is being given away FOR FREE!

You MUST have a MINIMUM of 40 posts (at the date and time of this posting),
OR hold at least 30GH/s of hash power in your PB Mining account (at any time before the winning blocks).

In addition to at least one of the requirements above, the bitcointalk account must also be no newer than this announcement.

READ THE RULES CLOSELY.

This is an elimination tournament and so there will only be ONE winner.

Watch the closest (after) mined Block On Friday, October 31st, at 20:00UTC.
On Blockchain.info, that Block will have a Hash, which is indicated within the red box.

This timestamp (circled in green) is for demonstration purpose only.

If your two digit Entry # in this thread shows up at any point in the Hash, you will proceed to the next round!

In this example we used, winners of the round would have been 31, 14, 42, 29, 41, 11, 18, 82.  If your entry number matches ANY of those numbers, you progress to the next round!  If not, you get eliminated and processed into delicious bacon.

The next round will come as quickly as the next block, so keep watching!  Each block that passes will eliminate more winners until there is only ONE PROUD PIGGY standing!

But wait a minute, what if piggies have similar winning entry #'s?
There will be a FINAL ROUND announced for the following day (Nov 1st).

What if there are multiple winners in which none of them win the proceeding block?
Remember, there has to be one winner.  In this case, they would all simply proceed together to the next block until we can eliminate all but 1 piggy.  If those winners had the same entry number though, then we stop the game and details of the final round (Nov 1st) are announced.

So how do I join the draw?
Just post here with the following:
        "And this little piggy went hashing!"  (doesn't have to be perfect)

Also post your customer # with PB Mining!  Make sure you register at www.pbmining.com if you don't have one yet.
You must also post something creepy!  Please keep gore to a minimum so that it's safe for viewing around work and family  Cheesy

What is my Entry #?

Your "Entry #" will be determined by taking the first letter and last letter of your bitcointalk username and then using this to convert it:

If I were playing, PBMINING would be #77

IGNORE the numbers in your username, if there are any.  For example, 1PBMINING1 would still be #77.  There also must be a minimum of 2 letters in your username.

So to sum up the rules,

In the rare event that there are multiple winning blocks at the same time, then all Entry #'s of both blocks will proceed to the next round.

For you to be eligible for this draw, you must have a minimum of 40 posts at the time of entering, OR a PB Mining account with at least 30GH/s in it any time before the winning blocks begin.

The bitcointalk account must also be no newer than this announcement.

Payouts to the winner will be made every Sunday before Midnight (GMT - 6).

For piggies with identical winning entry #'s who survive all the rounds together, details of the FINAL ROUND will be announced for the following day!  (Nov 1st).

Orphaned blocks will not be included in this game.

29000+ contracts and growing.
Come feed your greed!

7  Economy / Services / Make me a PB Mining banner for bitcointalk.org on: February 16, 2014, 02:01:42 AM
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=450959.0

I recently won my first auction for advertising space, however we are unable to use our regular banners because of all the restrictions.

(This is what we normally use)

Not only are there rules set out in the thread, but he also sent me these rules as well in a PM:

Each of your slots can have a different ad. You can use HTML/CSS styling with some freedom. However:
- Ads must not contain images or JavaScript
- Ads must not contain forms
- Ads must not animate (no <blink> or <marquee>). Subtle CSS hover effects may be allowed, since other links on the forum do that.
- Ads must not load things from external sites.
- Ads must not be taller than 3 lines of default-styled text (as they appear on my browser, which is about 700px wide). This is around 42px.
- I will reject ads if I find them to be especially annoying

Do not send me ads that use BBCode: I don't want to translate BBcode into HTML/CSS. You should send me the HTML and CSS for the ads. HTML should be valid XHTML 1.0 transitional. CSS can be either inline with the HTML or separate and I'll put it in the <head>. Note that your ad's style may be affected by the board's default CSS, especially if you use inline CSS. Using <div> tags is not recommended unless you give them inline-block style.

Common mistakes when creating ads:
- It is invalid XHTML to put a <div> inside of an <a>.
- Your ads will be affected by the forum's CSS. Your ads will by default have text-align:center and font-size:90%; your links will have :hover{text-decoration:underline}; etc. Make sure you insert your ad into a downloaded version of https://bitcointalk.org/adrotate.php?adinfo to see whether it looks OK with the inherited styles.
- If your top-level element is a block element (<div>, <span style="display:block">, etc.), your ad will be preceded by a line break, making it too tall. Your top-level element should almost certainly be inline or inline-block.
- Special symbols, especially including & symbols in URLs, need to be converted into entities like &amp;.

To bypass Adblock Plus, you should:
- Use header CSS, not inline.
- Tell me that you want a randomized CSS class.
- Tell me that you want the anti-ABP JavaScript link fix.
- Use only one <a> and no other tags if possible. If your ads get blocked because of matching done on something inside of your ad, you are responsible for noticing this and giving me new ad HTML. (However, note that I do not guarantee that ABP will be bypassed on my end.)

Impression stats are here:
https://bitcointalk.org/adrotate.php?adstats
If you're planning on collecting stats on clicks, you must put some tag in the URL. You will not get any referrer info from here, since browsers don't list HTTPS sites as referrers. I'd be interested in reading any stats you collect.

Ads will go up in about 24 hours from now. Make sure you pay before then.

Thanks!"

Now, unfortunately I had thought I would have a longer time frame, and with my main web developer currently at home I am far too busy to even read through his PM to sort it all out.  So if someone can make me up a banner real quick that adheres to his rules, then I will pay you 0.1BTC under the condition that theymos accepts it.  Please post it in this thread and I will pick the best one..

10  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Payments from customers, how do I avoid the forwarding system? .025 BTC BOUNTY on: January 23, 2014, 03:49:54 PM
from using the PHP examples at https://github.com/blockchain/receive_payment_php_demo, I was able to create a payment system for my customers.  However, it is set up so that it creates a forwarding address first, and then forwards the Bitcoins to my main address..  I would like the funds to be sent directly to the main address instead.  The reason for this is the 0.2BTC minimum for using Blockchains payment forwarding system.  It's a great loss for business when this restriction is in place, as customers need to place orders that are almost $200 for it to work.  I cannot just replace [[address]] with my main address, or the callback won't work.  I have a feeling it has something to do with "method=" when the server first sends that url string to blockchain..
0.025 Bounty for the first solution that works.  Thanks.

13  Other / Off-topic / No remote SQL access on my webhost -- and myPHPadmin isn't fun on: January 16, 2014, 08:24:58 PM
As the subject says, I find myPHPadmin to only be useful if I am on the ball with knowing the correct SQL queries.  This is a chore for entering database values.   Is there a similar interface or add-on that I can use for cPanel that allows me to edit my database easily?  It should have an easy point and click interface, like HeidiSQL.  It needs to be run server side, obviously, which is why I can't use HeidiSQL..

If someone has a good solution for me I will sign them up for a 1GH mining contract with PB Mining.  Thanks!

We have a 100% feedback rating, mostly consisting of ASIC hardware sales.   Paypal (through Ebay) and Bitcoin is accepted.  The goal of this promotion is to show everybody what they can expect from our cheap hosting plans, and how they differ from the competition.

*In the rare event that there are multiple blocks which are equally as close to February 1, 22:00:00UTC, then both/all of those blocks will be used for winning numbers from their corresponding Hash numbers.

16  Economy / Service Discussion / I found an issue with the Blockchain.info PHP examples on: January 08, 2014, 09:49:22 PM
Hello everybody.  I would like to make a contribution back to you guys for helping me learn how to accept BTC payments with PHP.
Anyone who uses the PHP examples provided by Blockchain.info will realize that the callback is not returning an invoice number.   This can cause a lot of confusion, especially for those just starting out.

After looking at Index.PHP for awhile, I found the culprit!

Quote
<div class="blockchain-btn" style="width:auto" data-create-url="create.php">

To pass the invoice # along, you need to add this:

Quote
<div class="blockchain-btn" style="width:auto" data-create-url="create.php?invoice_id=<?php echo $invoice_id;?>">

They only tacked that variable onto the order status URL, but its create.php that needs it...

17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / blockchain.info -- input addresses from users do not forward to main wallet on: January 07, 2014, 11:06:13 PM
<?php

$secret = 'ZzsMLGKe162CfA5EcG6j';

$my_address = 'DH7gdDUhgsdig9s&dgSD(blahblahblah)';

$my_callback_url = 'http://blahblahblah.com/payments/index.php?invoice_id=0555521123&secret='.$secret;

$root_url = 'https://blockchain.info/api/receive';

$parameters = 'method=create&address=' . $my_address .'&callback='. urlencode($my_callback_url);

$response = file_get_contents($root_url . '?' . $parameters);

$object = json_decode($response);

echo 'Send Payment To : ' . $object->input_address;

?>

When a customer sends BTC to the input address, they do not get forwarded to my main address... why not?  All the satoshis I have sent during these tests are still sitting in those input wallets.  I thought the idea was that the generated input address forwards those funds directly to the $my_address...?
18  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Should I accept payments without a callback URL? on: December 29, 2013, 03:47:51 AM
When implementing a payment system, Blockchain.info uses callback URLs with their PHP examples.
I only understand its use of sending the user to a confirmation page after ordering.  I have read that it is for added security though too, but I don't see how.
What if I chose not to use it?

19  Other / Beginners & Help / What is there not to like about a Bitcoin Mining Contract? Earn .0015BTC/answer on: December 19, 2013, 01:42:11 AM
Very interested to know what you all think about purchasing mining contracts.  I have seen a lot of these springing up on Ebay.  Obviously there are a lot of disadvantages to it over regular bitcoin mining.  Some of them off the top of my head:

-Contract usually has an expiry date
-Possible downtime of the owners equipment, which is out of your control
-Trust issues for proper payout

Please help me list more.  Include your address in the post, and I will reward you .0015BTC per reasonable point within the next couple days.  Smiley
