41  Other / MultiBit / HELP - Putting Multibit on my second laptop ? on: October 30, 2014, 11:52:54 AM
Hi All

I use Multibit as my main storage for BTC, i always backup the files as required when i add another encrypted wallet when i reach reach a set amount of coins.

What have NEVER done is run Multibit on another new laptop and recovered my wallets using the saved details.

My thinking is having multibit running on a second pc will give me instant access if my main pc is faulty.

So i willl be basically setting it up on a second pc if possible.

Can this be done and if so how, i always save EVERY backup file .

Thanks

42  Bitcoin / Mining support / ADVICE - Ghash.IO showing poor speed rate ? 1Th Dragon Miner ?? on: August 22, 2014, 04:11:21 PM
Hi

I had 1Th Dragon miner and the PSU was faulty on it soi purchased a 1300w EVGA Gold PSU to replce it.

My 9 other miners all run at 1Th CONSTANTLY except for this one ??

Could it be because i have used the wrong PCI outlets (has 6)?

If goto the miners address and then into 'Real Time Monitoring' of the machine it is a constantly over 1 Th (over 256Gh per blade) ?

Any ideas what is going on here, difficulty is set to 256k.

Thanks

46  Bitcoin / Mining support / ADVICE - Anyone running a Dragon Miner on a 192.168.0.xxx setting ??? on: July 15, 2014, 10:06:14 AM
Hi All

In the instructions for these miners its  states that they need to be on a 192.168.1.XXX which is mine on my router BUT my friend Virgin Superhub is 192.168.0.1.

I played with the router settings for HOURS and could get it to see the Miner on 192.168.1.XXX BUT it would not mine/connect to pool.

Could i just not change the IP address of the miner on my router to 192.168.0.XXX and then take it to my friends house ?

Would this be OK ??

Thanks

48  Bitcoin / Mining support / HELP - Dragon Miner not showing ANY speed when i connect to ip address ?? on: June 30, 2014, 08:33:40 PM
Hi All

I am aware that these need the third number to be 1 eg 192.168.1.101 ......

I have a Virgin superhub router which is linked which default address is 192.168.0.1.

I have the EXACT miners address - 192.168.1.181 BUT it will NOT connect to it....

So i then changed the Virgin superhub address to 192.168.1.101

I could then connect to the miner and add the pool details as usual and the blades stopped flashing and it' s displayed running BUT i still get NO SPEED displayed Huh

Plus it does not show on the pool???

I have just taken the miner WITHOUT altering anything to a makes house with the old type Virgin Router, which is connected to a Liksys router with local ip addy of 192.168.1.1.

Withing 1 minute its at 1Th.

Anyone helpas i need this running on Virgin superhub, with a ethernet port connected to it...

Thanks

50  Bitcoin / Mining support / HELP - Dragon Miner blades not showing green leds ?? on: May 08, 2014, 07:37:30 PM
Hi All

Have two miners, and both had broke variable fans and one unit even had the blades comes loose as they had used the wrong size scres to secure the blade to the case (they used the smaller case cover screws !!).

Both the fans were the variable speed ones, so i first replaced them BUT still no green led or any power light on Raspberry Pi unit ?

I checked the pi units by powering via a micro usb 5v/Ethernet cable and they powered up fine and i could connect to them via ip address.

My only option then is that it MUST be the main PCB, i have been sent two of these and STILLhave no green led with EVERYTHING connected as it should -no greeen leds on blades, both fans running, no power to pi unit ??

Anyone got any ideas what is going on here, the blades are connected as standard to the correct ports on the main board ?

What conditions need to be made to get the green led  ?

Cheers

56  Bitcoin / Mining / Advice choosing a PSU ? Only drawing 550w MAX ?? on: January 03, 2014, 05:27:16 PM
Hi All

I have an MSI Mb and x2 280x cards and it's only using a 550w max . I am not concerned about the efficiency as i have free electric in work  Grin

The biggest factor is price.

Is there a formula or % to add to the 550w being used ??

Or do you subtract a figure from the PSU rating ??

I am also based in the UK
