1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Someone keeps sending me BTC - what do? on: July 20, 2011, 10:38:56 AM
Hello guys,

I've been mining for some months now and use Bitmarket for my trades.
Since 14th of June, someone keeps sending me BTC to my Bitmarket account... it's around 172.8 right now, from the person (I did not trade it yet).

Some days there are no funds incoming, on others 3-5/day ... always like "5,65" or "0,38" - those kinda payments.

Where do they come from and why should someone do that? It makes me feel uneasy not to know where it comes from...

Plus 172 BTC isn't too less money, is it?
2  Economy / Economics / Trading in Swiss franc on: July 20, 2011, 10:28:29 AM
Hello there,

since the Swiss franc is one of the most stable currencies out there, I wondered if there was a Swiss MtGox or something like that...
If not, wouldn't it at least be an idea which is worth trying?

Explain to me why, if not Smiley

Wouldn't connecting BTC to a very stable currency make it stable as well? Or isn't BTC partly dependent on something like that?

Dude, I'm baked!
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Overclocking CrossfireX - it just won't work! (3 x 5830) on: July 05, 2011, 01:03:34 PM
Hey there,

I'm currently using my three 5830s to mine. I have a Antec 1000W power supply, 4GB RAM, AMD Athlon X2 and a ASUS board.
My fourth 5830 is in my normal PC - I sold my old NViDiA card, so the 5830 is used for gaming and mining (when I'm not gaming).
I can overclock the single 5830 to 990/300 and let it run stable for days. No problem at all - I can use MSI Afterburner, ATI Tray Tool or Sapphire TRIXX - it does not matter.

But for the CrossfireX config, I get problems while overclocking - it only works with OVERDRIVE (which is limited to 900/500).
When I use any other tool I mentioned above, the computer freezes instantly if I hit apply - even if I only OC to 810Mhz (800Mhz is stock).
Yes, I ticked the field where it says "Multi-GPU blabla" and I googled my ass off - I practically have no ass left. Seriously.

Now; is there any possibility to overclock those three bastards without 1) Flashing my BIOS 2) Using Overdrive?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

4  Bitcoin / Mining / Phoenix Miner kinda crashes often! HELP! on: July 04, 2011, 11:30:05 AM
Hi,

I've been using Phoenix Miner 1.5 for 3 days now, on deepbit.net - here's the problem:

Sometimes, one or more instances of the miner (on my mining rig) stop working. It's not that they crash, they simply stop doing Mhash and idle...
Where does that problem come from? I don't even touch the rig when it works; is this a problem of the miner itself or deepbit?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Here's my Phoenix configuration:
Quote
phoenix.exe -u http://email@email.com_1:password@pit.deepbit.net:8332 DEVICE=0 -k phatk VECTORS BFI_INT WORKSIZE=256 AGGRESSION=11 FASTLOOPS=false

I'm using three 5830s in one machine and one 5830 in another - I got the problem on both machines!

Cards are overclocked to 980/300/1,1163V (one)
                                    960/300/1,1164V (three)
5  Local / Deutsch (German) / Online-Drogenparadies Silk Road gefährdet Digitalwährung Bitcoins! ACHTUNG! on: June 10, 2011, 10:45:43 AM
Hallo liebe Bitcoin Gemeinde,
