HI Everyone, I thought I would share my hands on with the Antminer S7. It is a nice miner and works well. Built like a tank in the S5 form factor. I will be following it up with a video demo and tear down in the coming days. They do exist and they should be shipping enmass soon. http://bitcoinist.net/exclusive-1st-review-bitmain-antminer-s7-4-8-ths-using-1250-watts/Bitmain recently announced the Antminer S7 specs using their new BM1385 ASIC. This step is a big one, as the S7 is shipping to anyone around the worl — from small home miners to large data centers. Many other manufacturers are only using in-house or for the certain large mining operations that have announced new chips. Recently, we interviewed Jihan Wu co-founder of Bitmain. After the interview, Jihan sent a Bitmain Antminer S7 to review. The miner is an excellent step up from current offerings on the market. Let’s look at the specifications.

I got to interview our own Dogie. He was gracious enough to take the time for the interview. He is someone who helps us all so much no matter if you are a miner or a manufacturer. Dogie helps elevate mining and inform everyone. I hope you all enjoy the interview I know I did. What is your favorite miner currently and what is your favorite all time? My favorite miner at the moment is the RockMiner R-Box. It’s specifically designed to be the ‘everyone can have one’ device of this generation, and it is really simple. A single PCB, two-custom heatsinks, 4 long screws and fan. My favorite of all time was the Antminer S1, not particularly because of the machine itself, but because what Bitmain did. There were no preorders; they simply came into the market and said “we have miners; we have lots of miners.” They singlehandedly gave consumers an alternative to the high-risk preorder market that we’ve seen fail time and time again. http://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/news/interview-dogie-master-miner-trusted-tester-manufacturers/2014/08/09

HI Everyone Dr Paul is a fellow miner and posted a moving statement asking for help on HashTalk. The community has responded with a http://cryptocause.org/ fundraiser that is selling miners at a discount to help him out. If any of you are looking for miners or just want to help him out please do. Here is also the article with more info. http://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/news/mining-community-gawminers-comes-together-help-fellow-miner/2014/08/06This week the mining community responded with a plea for help from a fellow miner. ‘Dr Paul’ as he goes by in the HashTalk forums, has a very serious heart condition and requires an electric golf cart so that he can travel to his doctors and therapy sessions. When he asked for help, the response was wonderful. At first, people simply offered to donate to him, but then a member of Viturrex setup a CryptoCause sale for him with GAWMiners giving special prices on their miners so they could raise money for Dr Paul.
Fundraising is something that, as humans, we should do for each other. People asking for help like this, do not often go unheard in the Bitcoin community as they do in the “real” world. Dr Paul’s fellow miners have stepped up as well as a major vendor like GAWMiners. More vendors and manufacturers are welcomed as well. Dr Paul and other miners have committed to setup more fundraisers to help those in need once this project is over. What is being done here is literally a lifeline for Dr Paul.

Bitmain recently pushed out 4.8 ph/s to the network on AntPool. I know many people are wondering if it is the testing phase for the S3 as I wonder as well. I know I cannot wait to have some S3's running here. The new chip looks awesome. Do you all wonder about it. I know the upgrade options are awesome too for S1 and S2 owners. Bitmain is really pushing new ideas and paths. http://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/news/bitmain-driving-latest-spike-hashing-growth-antminer-s3s/2014/06/26With the imminent release of the much anticipated Antminer S3, Bitmain has pushed out 4.8 ph/s to their private AntPool. Officially they are saying that S2’s and some large private customers are driving up the hash rate in the pool there are many who are speculating that it is the initial testing of the S3s as well. All told, with the amount of Antminer S1 and S2 sales Bitmain units sold in the past months, Bitmain is estimated to be powering 20% of the total network.
Recently Bitmain announced the upcoming 28nm Chip BM1382. The BM1382 is a chip that Bitmain will be releasing in the Antminer S3 as well as in upgrades for existing S2 and S1 units. It has some great specifications.

I got to review and Hardbit Bitcoin wallet. It was a pleasant surprise as it works well and is fairly simple to use. With so much vaporware out there and companies like BFL not shipping anything at all it was also nice to be able to get one and not have to wait forever for it to ship or worse not at all. I wanted to share my review with you all. Hardbit recently started shipping the Hardbit HB01 Bitcoin Hardware Wallet. The HB01 is a low cost offline, secure, cold storage solution for your bitcoins that still allows you to use them when you want. The Trezor wallet is just starting to ship pre-orders and Butterfly Labs has still not shipped their hardware wallet (or anything at all for that matter). This has left a huge gap in the market for a stand-alone solution to offline storage that is not a paper wallet or a complicated DIY method. Hardbit has stepped into that gap with the HB01.
My first impression of the HB01 is that it is rugged and small. It also looks like a mini cell phone with a touch screen and camera on the back. Size: 2.5″ Touch Screen 48 x 88 x 12.8mm
It comes with an extra 900 mah lithium battery. There is also a USB power cord and dongle to plug it in.
It does not come with a paper manual. There is a manual on the unit itself. The PDF is available in english on the Hardbit site. It is helpful but upon turning on the HB01 it walks you through setup very simply. It requires an Android app which I found easy to use during setup. As it is not transacting Bitcoin it also helps keep your Bitcoin safe. There is not an app for iPhone as we all know Apple is anti-anything-they-do-not-control.
The interface is clean and easy to use. The screen is easy to see and glare not an issue when scanning the QR code. In the directions, they stress making a secure password and also to make a backup. One of the ways that the HB01 works is to allow for a backup. This way if your HB01 is lost or broken you still have your Bitcoin. The ability gives a bit more of a sense of security when using the HB01. http://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/news/hardbit-bitcoin-wallet-offline-secure-cold-storage/2014/05/20

HI Everyone, I got to interview Tyler Roye the CEO of eGifter.com. It was really informative as he has strong views of how the credit card companies and banks are screwing over everyone from the retailers to the consumer. He spoke to me about how Bitcoin and crypto currencies is going to change how those institutions do business. I wanted to share because he is such a advocate for Bitcoin and crypto currencies. He supports the community and thinks so much of it and it's ability to innovate and come together. Thanks for checking it out. http://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/news/interview-egifters-tyler-roye/2014/05/012.5% of everything that gets transacted goes to banks and card processors. They do not feel enough competitive pressure to lower the price or add features. I have a feature I would like to see them add. Taking on the fraud from card not present retailers. Why is that my problem? Why can’t they give me a technology to do that? The answer is they are not motivated to do this by competitive price pressures.
I want them to define new technologies that are going to create a system that would promote less fraud. They are fat and happy and do not want to. They are going to have to respond to the emerging crypto currencies and they are going to respond by: 1st lower prices but they can only lower them so far before they say 2nd they are going to add some features, better add some benefit We are entering a time when hackers are going to focus on only digital transactions. Great I sell stored value, I sell digitally stored value. I just became even more of a target for hackers. I am ok with that as it is part of our IP stack, and it forces us to build a better mouse trap. That is one of our competitive differentiators. I would give my business to someone who could stop all that.

All right this article blew me away. So many scams going on in Bitcoin and Crypto Currencies and this one is no doubt another big one. I cannot believe how they ran what was considered a legit site and ran away once someone broke their silence on their shenanigans. http://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/news/completely-insane-saga-coinbet-cc/2014/04/20The emails are damming in and of themselves that they were up to no good. It All Starts With One Man
Meet Michael Katz. Katz is an American poker player from a small town in New Jersey. Throughout his career, Katz has won well over half a million dollars playing online poker. However, on 15 April 2011, the United States indicted three major online poker sites – PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, and Absolute Poker, for violating the Illegal Gambling Business Act of 1955. The online poker community soon dubbed this date “Black Friday,” since it essentially ended online poker for Americans. As a result of Black Friday, Katz no longer obsessed over poker and instead was able to concentrate on other aspects of his life, including his family and his own start-up businesses. You could stop reading now and believe that Michael Katz lived happily ever after with his winnings and his family. Unfortunately, the true story has a far more miserable ending. This is the story of how a man lost over $300,000, and in the processes, exposed one of the biggest scams in the Bitcoin world. Check the rest out. I do not know what to say from here other than stories like this make me lose a bit of faith in humans sometimes. Not all people are like this I know it just sucks so many get away with it.

As I sit here my 4 day in a row with next to no sleep I remember that each day is one step closer to the surgery that gives me a 50/50 chance of getting some relief. I know I posted about my terrible day in a thread before and I have had many since just as bad if not worse I have also had many good days as well. I have met some of the most wonderful people on here online and now in person. I never thought I would be somewhere that I could talk Bitcoin with people who lived it too. I met some people who changed my life in subtle ways with their words or how they did not treat me horribly because if I am not moving you cannot tell I am disabled. A friend I met in person there showed me that kindness is the way it should be and not something many give lip service to.
So I am awake at 5:12am shivering in pain I am still hopeful.
I am finishing up my articles and thinking about the future. I hope it holds more than just pain for me but if it does not then I know I am not alone.
I wish you all the best.
