2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / [ANN][CASH] A Global Reward Cryptocurrency | 100% PoW | 100% Community-Funded on: January 20, 2020, 06:41:49 PM

On personnal note

I've been involved in the cryptocurrency industry for a long time. I've seen projects come and go. Earlier last year, when I saw a bitcointalk thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5122908.0) announcing a new Mimblewimble project, naturally I was excited. It offered scalability and privacy. Two attributes of a project that I was involved with early, Ethereum, that it currently lacks.

The original launch of this project was called Litebeam and the team made the mistake of posting photos that many believed didn't belong to them. Original post was flagged and received harsh criticism by the community. This was an understandable reaction and I was very skeptical. The team immediately removed the pics from the website and you can see here the team was not intentionally attempting to mislead anyone because they were labeling the pics "PSEUDONYMOUS
Litebeam Team" https://web.archive.org/web/20190321063039/https://litebeam.org/

The team has acknowledged this mistake and rebranded the project Litecash.

You can believe what you want, but I'm here to let the BitcoinTalk community know Litecash has been nothing but honest and professional. I've been part of their Discord (https://bit.ly/litecash) since launch and have had the pleasure of watching the community grow the last 10 months. The core team has upgraded their software with several updates and recently they released their version of a whitepaper (https://lite.cash/litepaper).

Litecash's mission is to become a global reward currency.

From Litepaper:

"Imagine getting small amounts of BTC back in 2010 from your favorite restaurant for eating a $100 meal. Over time that BTC would have accumulated into a small fortune. Not only will the restaurant receive benefits from increased loyalty, consumers will have an option to redeem their Litecash (CASH) for BTC."

Big thing often come from the little but not so simple idea of solving a problem and I love to see community naturally growing around this project. Anyhow, I'm putting my credibility on the line for Litecash but you can be the judge for yourself.

From github:

Litecash is the next generation scalable, confidential cryptocurrency based on an elegant and innovative Mimblewimble protocol.

MAINNET IS LAUNCHED & ACTIVE!

|Features|

No premine. No ICO. No Founders Rewards. No developer rewards.
Initial block reward 275, halving after 1 year from start of mainnet, and halving thereafter every 4 years (ala BTC)
Users have complete control over privacy - users have complete control over their personal data in accordance to their will and applicable laws.
Confidentiality without penalty - confidential transactions do not cause bloating of the blockchain, avoiding excessive computational overhead or penalty on performance or scalability while completely concealing the transaction value.
No trusted setup required
Blocks are mined using Equihash Proof-of-Work algorithm.
Limited emission using periodic halving.
No addresses are stored in the blockchain - no information whatsoever about either the sender or the receiver of a transaction is stored in the blockchain.
Superior scalability through compact blockchain size - using the “cut-through” feature of Mimblewimble makes the Litecash blockchain orders of magnitude smaller than any other blockchain implementation.
