6  Bitcoin / Mining support / Using a Thermal Gun/Camera? on: November 21, 2017, 09:26:34 PM
Do any of you use a FLIR or FLIR-like thermal gun/camera to measure temps or to get an overall view of how your miners, panels and ventilation are doing in regards to temps?   What are you using?    Would be interested in hearing what others are doing......
7  Economy / Service Discussion / Best place to buy quality power cables for Antminer/APW3++ on: November 08, 2017, 09:39:29 PM
I know there is the obvious Amazon/eBay... Wondering if anyone has a go-to online store where they order their power cables from that is current/up-to-date.   Thanks
8  Bitcoin / Mining support / Bitmain APW3++ Question - Power Cord on: October 26, 2017, 07:36:16 PM
Question regarding the APW3++ ....  What power cord should I be sourcing?    I am looking at using these PDUs... http://icecat.us/us/p/ibm/73p5847/power-distribution-units-pdus-PDU+DPI+60amp+3-phase+High+Density+C9-73276.html

Will this be supported?   It is looking like a C9 power connector.

Thanks.
9  Bitcoin / Hardware / Suggestion on setup with large overhead door on: October 04, 2017, 06:14:08 PM
Looking at implementing a couple hundred S9 miners with this current setup:  Large room 1500-2000sqft with 18" ceilings with a large garage/overhead door.   I am trying to figure out the most optimal setup for this configuration.  I was thinking on making an enclosed room infront of the garage door and within that enclosed room have the exhaust end of the miners blow the heat into the contained room and have exhaust fans draw it out the large door?   Essentially have one long rack on each side of the room that runs parallel with it.   Any other suggestions would be appreciated....

10  Economy / Services / Looking for developers on: September 19, 2017, 09:52:28 PM
Please drop your CV in here and what your skill sets are.   I am looking for a couple of developers that can develop and code a resilient, high frequency trading system (relational database or key-value for consideration).    KDB+ and Redis considered an asset.   Thank you!
11  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / 7nm miner thread on: September 05, 2017, 08:45:26 PM
7nm chips will be coming out in early 2018 (or so they say).   Let us use this as the placeholder for discussions.

One company has talked about it lightly in their presser - Canaan.   I assume they will be restrictive and not disclose much but we should watch for news coming from TSMC.

With that said... Who is going to continue to ramp up operations with Avalon or S9 given these are coming out?   I would figure units like that go obsolete within the first release of 7nm.
12  Bitcoin / Hardware / What is your cooling setup? (small/medium/large miners) on: August 22, 2017, 03:22:33 PM
Hello;  I am interested in finding out how you have been dealing with HVAC/cooling for your mining setups?   If you are mining Bitcoins you will find that the Bitmain S9 likes to be around the 20-25 degrees range.   If you have a couple hundred of them that means it is pumping out 1.1M of BTU/hr.    What are you doing to eliminate the heat and keep everything running nice and cool?

Most of the large mining outfits seem to use a forced intake/exhaust system to eliminate on A/C overhead costs and to run a leaner mine.  Which may be good for the pocket but not necessarily for the gear itself.

- Recirculated air from A/C unit?
- Forced intake with filters/exhaust?
- Evaporation condensed coolers?
- Geothermal?
- Other?

Please share.  This is an important topic as it relates to performance and setups.
13  Economy / Speculation / Analysis on: January 14, 2015, 09:16:24 PM
I have been hanging around an "elite" bunch of Bitcoiners as of recent.... I can tell you one thing is certain.

The price did not drop because of miners or coinbase or BitPay....  Nor did it from people that were hodling and selling at a low point.

The price dropped from day traders and people doing 3x/10x/20x/50x margin shorts/longs and the margin calls...   Just a FYI.
14  Other / Meta / Show new replies to your posts area? Help! on: December 22, 2014, 05:43:33 PM
There are a few threads that are absolutely annoying me.  I don't want them to show up in my "Show new replies to your posts" area.  I tried clicking "unwatch" but they still come up when people comment/post in there.   How can I once and for all get rid of specific ones?   Thanks in advance.

16  Economy / Speculation / The age old question about BTC-e and it's price on: December 15, 2014, 08:45:02 PM
Why is it that BTC-e is always $5-$10/USD lower than other exchanges?   Thanks in advance.

17  Economy / Speculation / The Great Pump of December 10th & 11th - a few concerns on: December 11, 2014, 03:11:48 PM
With the immediate news of Microsoft accepting Bitcoin for digital goods on the Windows Phone and Windows Store marketplace it was amazing to see that China lead the pump.  This was something I have not seen in a while and was fun to be a part of.

There is only one problem....

It went up about $17 dollars...  If this was 2011/2012 we would of seen the price skyrocket Mt. Gox style.   So - with that indicator.  I knew China was going to dump before their work shift ended (4PM China time) and here we are back to the $350 level.  Why is that?   I think the reason has to do with people that entered the pump were shorting the whole time (sub 350) and re-entered the market.  That action is all we got.  At the end of the day - there is no new money coming into Bitcoin otherwise the price would be steadily climing this morning with the news.   Its 10AM EST as of this post and price is moving sideways.

TLDR;  There is no new money.  Expect this to go down before or on the weekend.
18  Economy / Speculation / The market price and speculation around the price drop (December 9th 2014) on: December 09, 2014, 03:46:37 PM
What is causing this to happen?  Seriously?  There has really been no bad news yesterday except for the fact blockchain.info got hacked NOT the blockchain itself.  I don't think this is manipulation or China going crazy.   I think people are getting out or getting out for holidays?

There is also speculation/rumor that just came out - For every public BTC address, there is 2 to the power of 96 private keys that FIT. - True or false rumors?

Any comments/feedback appreciated.   I think we are all bears at this point.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / scrypt asics - what one have you ordered or using? on: December 08, 2014, 06:03:25 PM

20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Scrypt ASIC mining on: December 01, 2014, 08:35:15 PM
Who here has?   If  you can provide me with some links of reliable suppliers/manufacturers that would be great.

I am assuming they are all pre-sale too?

Thanks in advance
