21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / WorldCoin Seen as a Threat? on: May 22, 2013, 10:11:07 PM
I've never seen a single coin cause so many altcoin holder to try and attack it here on bitcointalk and in every chat window I've seen.
Sounds like everyone see's it as a threat, else they'd ignore it (like many coins they aren't currently trolling).
There's talk about LTC members planning to take a fight in the battle.
It actually says a lot about WorldCoin.
What are your thought... let the trolls commence  Cheesy
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / CNC - What would it take to fall off BTC-e? on: May 21, 2013, 01:25:48 AM
Now this isn't about CNC specifically.
It's just an example of an alt coin that has absolutely no community support, no dev and no speculative future.. but yet remains on an exchange.

So two scenarios:
1.
An exchange can leave an alt coin on their site forever.
It gets pumped/dumped between .0005 - .0015 until the end of time.
Yet too many coins clutter their site and make them look greedy and unprofessional.

2.
I haven't seen a second scenario yet since I am unaware of any alt coin that has been removed from a bigger exchange such as BTC-e.

Please enlighten me; your thoughts?
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / WorldCoin launced in time for attention at Bitcoin Convention on: May 20, 2013, 08:53:03 PM
I've heard the mention in chat that Worldcoin was brought up (in good light) during the recent Bitcoin conference.

Does anyone have information to confirm or deny this? Perhaps they keep minutes.

Gotta diversify the country coins!

Since I only have CNC, I'm willing to offer a bit more than the LTC offers I've seen.

For you reference at the moment.
1 LTC = $2.60
27 CNC = $2.60

28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Bter.com to add troll box soon on: May 06, 2013, 06:54:41 AM
Confirmed with admins at Bter.com that they will be adding a chat box to their site.
But only in English, not Chinese due to respecting certain laws.

With the addition of chat will come higher volume and higher volatility.

Not too important of information, but I thought I'd report it anyhow.

Happy trading!
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / CNC bigger than expected?? on: May 06, 2013, 05:36:30 AM
Keep in mind guys, China has the worlds largest population (1.35+ Billion) which is about 20% of the entire world population.
Investors might speculate profit and value in this cryptocurrency.
Today, they are cheap but one day this may be China's BTC. I've seen crazier things happen.

What are your thoughts?

33  Economy / Scam Accusations / w0mbat - Took my 16.80 BTC on: May 01, 2013, 02:24:20 AM
Hello Admins and Users,

I recently made a deal with w0mbat. He offered to trade me 14k FTC for my 16.8 BTC. So he took my BTC and I haven't heard from him since. I'm giving him a day or so before I take action. Only because he seemed to go offline as I took too long to send them. (This occurred about 16 hours ago).

Here is the blockchain information:
https://blockchain.info/address/1EsRrVWet1sLjEEmSiqcAN9bbkXtrKjbsm

Unfortunately, it's making my wife cry and is a great deal of money to us. Hope this is just a mistake.

Thanks for reading!
clint25n

Notes:  He first joined in 2011 and never heard anything bad about him. His account was inactive for over a year, but so was mine.
He created an exchange at one time and seemed to have a couple transactions with people, so I believed I could trust him.

Whether he turns out to be the original user, or someone who hacked an account.. his location is logged, and with the proper contacts.. is possible to trace. It would be interesting if someone could be found for grand larceny or something similar for such an action. Even if they couldn't, they could still be dragged through court which comes with more of an expense than the original 16.8 BTC. I'll keep everyone posted and hopefully he's just offline!

40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Infomercial on TV accepting Bitcoin on: June 26, 2011, 07:34:38 PM
Ok, let's say a commercial comes on TV, and at the payment screen, they claim to accept bitcoin. Like an infomercial. Now, at this point the government would be pushed to make a decision or start a fight with this economy, wouldn't they? What would happen in this situation?

I bet this is close to how it's going to happen. A somewhat larger business is going to say they accept bitcoin, the media is going to cover it, the nation is going to watch and then the fight is gonna happen.

Thoughts?
