This is great, Dash now has listings on additional major exchanges like Coinbase, Coinbase Pro, Vaultoro, Smart Valor and Binance US.
On a sidenote : OKEx Korea (a much smaller local Korean exchange) has decided to re-evaluate its earlier decision to delist Dash.
Fingers crossed they decide to keep Dash listed, their reasons to delist Dash were a bit strange to begin with.

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / [POLL] Is Coindesk biased in its reporting on altcoins ? on: August 16, 2019, 07:46:27 PM

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / PIVX and possibly 200 other blockchains vulnerable to bug on: August 13, 2019, 07:18:49 PM

Source picture : Cointelegraph article itself

Read more here : https://cointelegraph.com/news/pivx-possibly-other-pos-chains-vulnerable-to-bug-attackers-profit

Note : PIVX is a fork of Dash (forked from Dash v0.12.0.x) and is using a custom proof of stake (PoS) model.
Both PIVX and over 200 other PoS blockchains appear to be vulnerable to disproportionately high staking rewards.
Dash on the other hand does not have this vulnerability, because Dash has a proof of work (PoW) model.

Bitgreen (a PoS altcoin running on PIVX) stated it will start planning a migration from PIVX to Dash.

Quote
As a final solution, the BitGreen project plans to migrate from the still-vulnerable PIVX network to DASH on its next update

Somsen started by suggesting all Ledger users to update to the latest version of v1.5.5 that contained “critical security fix on the Bitcoin app”.

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Dash Discussion Thread on: March 01, 2019, 10:16:46 AM

How Dash Works

Peer-to-peer digital currency differs from traditional money in that there is no central authority responsible for monitoring supply and authenticity.
Instead, the hard laws of mathematics govern supply and ensure that only legitimate owners can spend their balances. Assuming users follow
recommended security practices, this makes fraudulent spending and theft almost impossible. In the absence of a central authority, each node on
the network itself must come to an agreement (or consensus) on the balances of each account (or address) every few minutes. This information is
then stored in a block, and irreversibly written and linked to the previous block to form a chain. This constantly updated ledger is accessible by any
user of the network and is called the blockchain.

Dash builds on this simple (although somewhat unfamiliar) concept by offering users instant, private and secure transactions that are so simple,
you won’t even know you are transacting on a blockchain. Anyone can participate in the network, and Dash is widely available for purchase around
the world. The ingenious masternode network means sending any sum of money around the world is as simple as tapping your phone at your local
store to buy groceries. Say goodbye to slow transactions, complex international account numbers and high transaction fees – Dash is digital cash!

US Government Lab Looks to Blockchain for P2P Energy

Blockchain startup BlockCypher has partnered with a U.S. Department of Energy lab to develop solutions allowing energy transactions to be settled across multiple blockchains.

The energy agency's National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and BlockCypher first plan to demonstrate peer-to-peer energy transactions involving distributed energy resources (DER) over
the dash cryptocurrency network between two test homes in the NREL's energy facility, said Dylan Cutler, senior engineer for the initiative at NREL.

Another major newly emerging peer to peer market is most likely healthcare, which Dash also has plans for through its partnership with BlockCypher.

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Monero's Achilles' heel ? on: April 22, 2017, 02:31:49 PM
Achilles' heel : a weakness or vulnerable point.

You Can Link Monero Transactions – But Which? And What's the Impact?
http://www.coindesk.com/monero-link-transactions-debate/

Quote
On Twitter, Reddit and across social media, a heated discussion has been playing out over findings published on MoneroLink.com.
Launched on 14th April, the website provides a block explorer that lets users follow the inputs and outputs of a majority (62%) of transactions
conducted before January 2017, a feat that was widely thought to be impossible.

The explorer is a practical implementation of techniques published in a research paper by Andrew Miller and Kevin Lee of the University of Illinois
at Urbana-Champaign, and Arvind Narayanan and Malte Möser of Princeton University.

Since its publication, much debate has taken place over whether the findings of the paper have been presented accurately, and equally, whether
the monero team's own research – which founder Riccardo Spagni says highlighted the same findings in 2015 – has communicated well enough
to give users of the network a clear understanding of its limitations.

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [Poll] Do you feel part of a crypto community ? on: January 17, 2017, 07:44:44 AM
Recentely i had a discussion with some people, who stated they did not feel part of a community or even considered a community
being possible that could evolve around a cryptocurrency. I found this rather odd as i feel strongly connected to a community of the
cryptocurrency i am interested in (Dash).

I do realise i will never get in touch with the whole Dash crypto community, due to language barriers and the community being spread
over different forums (BCT, Dash.org, Reddit, Slack), but i still have a strong feeling of being part of a community.

If you are interested in participathing in this little poll of mine then please vote for option yes or no and describe in a reply how you voted and why.

Its a good thing Dash moved away from darknet and that Dash privacy solution is totally optional.

Interesting article from Alan Struna (please read it completely), it could have huge implications for a certain cryptocurrency that just got added as currency on darknet.
Direct association with darknet = Full attention of the FBI
