US Government Lab Looks to Blockchain for P2P Energyhttps://www.coindesk.com/us-government-lab-blockcypher-tap-blockchain-for-p2p-energy-transactions/Blockchain startup BlockCypher has partnered with a U.S. Department of Energy lab to develop solutions allowing energy transactions to be settled across multiple blockchains.
The energy agency's National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and BlockCypher first plan to demonstrate peer-to-peer energy transactions involving distributed energy resources (DER) over the dash cryptocurrency network between two test homes in the NREL's energy facility, said Dylan Cutler, senior engineer for the initiative at NREL. Another major newly emerging peer to peer market is most likely healthcare, which Dash also has plans for through its partnership with BlockCypher.

Achilles' heel : a weakness or vulnerable point. You Can Link Monero Transactions – But Which? And What's the Impact? http://www.coindesk.com/monero-link-transactions-debate/On Twitter, Reddit and across social media, a heated discussion has been playing out over findings published on MoneroLink.com. Launched on 14th April, the website provides a block explorer that lets users follow the inputs and outputs of a majority (62%) of transactions conducted before January 2017, a feat that was widely thought to be impossible.
The explorer is a practical implementation of techniques published in a research paper by Andrew Miller and Kevin Lee of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Arvind Narayanan and Malte Möser of Princeton University.
Since its publication, much debate has taken place over whether the findings of the paper have been presented accurately, and equally, whether the monero team's own research – which founder Riccardo Spagni says highlighted the same findings in 2015 – has communicated well enough to give users of the network a clear understanding of its limitations.

http://www.coindesk.com/fbi-concerned-about-criminal-use-of-private-cryptocurrency-monero/The privacy-focused digital currency monero has captured the attention of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), which has expressed concerns over its use among criminals. Following the event, the special agent said he couldn't provide additional details specifically pertaining to the FBI’s investigative techniques surrounding monero when asked by CoinDesk. Thats what you get when you promote as cryptocurrency your direct links to darknet markets, i guess. The FBI's full attention and subject to its investigative techniques.

Recentely i had a discussion with some people, who stated they did not feel part of a community or even considered a community being possible that could evolve around a cryptocurrency. I found this rather odd as i feel strongly connected to a community of the cryptocurrency i am interested in (Dash).
I do realise i will never get in touch with the whole Dash crypto community, due to language barriers and the community being spread over different forums (BCT, Dash.org, Reddit, Slack), but i still have a strong feeling of being part of a community.
If you are interested in participathing in this little poll of mine then please vote for option yes or no and describe in a reply how you voted and why.
