I am not able to get any connections for over a week now. I have searched and tried the following:
Forwarding port 8333 to my local lan ip
Checked port 8333 on canyouseeme.org says port is open (ISP is not blocking)
Disable Real time protection in Security Essentials
Turned off windows firewall
Uninstalled bitcoin, erased all files in C:\Users\Pagda\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin except wallet.dat then
Installed newest bitcoin from bitcoin.org
Still no connections. What else can I do? Is there other files I should get rid off when uninstalling?

I am using a GA-870A-USB3 motherboard, and two Corsair Builder Servies CX600 600W PSU's. I have running two 5850 in the built in 16x pcie slots (powered by cx600 that also powers the motherboard) and one 5850 extreme on a 1x extender cable (powered by second psu that is only connected to this card). This configuration boots up fine, but as soon a cgminer starts up and starts crunching, the screen turns black and the fan on the 5850 extreme goes to 100% and the PSU fan stops (this happens at stock clocks and voltages as well as oc'd). Using only one PSU and two 5850s there are no problems. (running linuxcoin)
Is this a sign of a weak PSU? Is this a software issue? Do the PSU's have to be connected together somehow?
edit: looking at the box of the PSUs I see that they provide 480W on the 12V rail. That should be plenty to run in the above configuration. Any ideas on how to get this to run?
New Info: So it turns out that even if I only run any miner on the 5850 extreme (connected using riser cable) the system crashes. But it doesnt crash right away, it works fine for even up to a couple minutes, until I change something on the screen (like open or close a window) then it crashes. This card is also the card that the monitor is hooked up to. Has anyone else had crashing problems on opening or closing windows?

I have a GA-870A-USB3 motherboard which has 4 PCIe slots on it (2 16x and 2 1x) I currently have 2 5850's running perfectly in the two 16x slots. I am trying to add another 5850 using a 1x PCIe extender cable (riser?) but I cannot get it to work. When I take out the two other cards and only connect the new card to any of the the 1x slots, the card is not recognized by the graphical part of debian (running linuxcoin 0.2b) but the bios shows up and I can see linux loading. I then get a Failed to start X server message. I am using a modified 1x PCIe cable (I took of the end to fit onto the 16 connector on the card).
Has anyone else had this problem? What can I try to fix this? Thanks.
Also the same thing happens if the other two cards are left in the mother board, and the new card works fine if connected directly into the mother board.

I found something that may be useful to many people here, a hardware watchdog, seems pretty easy to make and pretty cheap. http://linuxfocus.org/English/July2002/article239.shtmlI would like to build it and try it out, Im just worried that there is no way to connect this to current motherboards as it goes through serial cable. Is there some thing that one can use to add a serial port to a linux box? Or maybe control the pins in a serial cable directly to send pulses to a device like this? |

I have a bad internet connection, it craps out for a couple of minutes a couple times a day. If I have two miners running on my GPU, one pointed at a pool and one pointed at my own bitcoin -server (low aggression), will my bitcoin client still be able to generate a block if on the off chance the GPU finds the right hash while the internet is down? I dont like the feeling of my GPU sitting idle, and I dont want to be wasting electricity on pointless hashing either. Thanks
