1  Economy / Gambling / WARNING: bitjack21.com will STEAL your BTC on: February 12, 2013, 08:26:36 PM
I've played at Bitjack21.com in the past, and all was fine.

This past Friday, I deposited 6 BTC, and emailed them to get my .1 BTC deposit bouns.  I got an email back right away.

I ended up playing for a while, and won.  I withdrew 12.39 BTC.

The withdrawal page said it might take up to 24 hours.

36 hours later, no BTC.  I emailed them.  No response.

2 days later I emailed them again.  No response.

It's now several days later.  No BTC, no response to email.

Learn from my mistake - don't play there,

3  Economy / Speculation / We have a sustained rally, AND in 1 week is the "Good Wife" Bitcoin episode on: January 09, 2012, 03:23:06 AM
Can it be a perfect storm?  In the midst of a rally, mass market America gets their first word about Bitcoin?

I know the episode casts Bitcoin as an "illegal" currency, but I say any press is good press, especially when it's to people who never heard of Bitcoin before.

This can only push the rally higher.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Cash deposit at US bank? on: December 16, 2011, 09:09:08 PM
ExchB is sadly gone.  MtGox has suspended their cash deposits.  What exchange will let me get USD in by making a cash deposit at a US bank?
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Mt.Gox cash deposit take 2 on: November 16, 2011, 04:32:21 AM
I posted a thread earlier where I complained that my MtGox USD cash deposit to Chase bank took almost 2 weeks to show up.

Well, fair is fair.

I did it again, same amount ($60) and it took 1.5 days (FAQ says 48 hours)

Still WAY worse than ExchB used to take (1 hour) (I miss ExchB) but within what they say it will take.  Setting expectations correctly is always good.

7  Economy / Currency exchange / [complete] I'd like to buy BTC with paypal on: November 12, 2011, 06:14:38 AM
Hello!

I'm a long time forum member.  I've sold some goods via the forum with great feedback.

I'd like to buy BTC with paypal.  I'll pay 5% over MtGox ask at the time of agreement.  I'll execute a gift transaction in paypal and pay all paypal fees.

My "goods" board transactions:

8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Do any other exchanges allow cash deposits at US banks? on: November 04, 2011, 09:01:47 PM
I used to use ExchB's awesome cash deposit at a bank to buy BTC all the time.  It was easy and fast.  I was sad when they closed.

I tried MtGox's cash deposit, and it's been 6 business days, and no money.  All customer support has to say is "sorry for the delay".  ExchB used to take 1 hour, max!  6 business days, and still no $ at MtGox.   Angry

Do any other exchanges allow this?  If so, you'll have my business in a heartbeat.

Thanks.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Mt Gox cash deposits down on: October 31, 2011, 03:26:28 AM
I deposited $60 at a Chase bank to Mt Gox this past Thursday afternoon (PDT).  When it still had not shown up 24 hours later (Mt Gox's site says it takes 24 hours or less) I submitted a support ticket.

Today I got a reply:

"Thank you for contacting us. Cash deposits are currently pending. We will notify you as soon as it is credited to your account. We apologize for any inconvenience caused."

This is fine, really, but what bugs me is that this is the latest in a line of instances where Mt Gox fails to set realistic expectations.  Don't tell me "24 hours or less" if that's not actually the case.

Mt Gox:  Just tell me the truth.  If it's going to be 4 days, then tell me 4 days (number pulled out of my ass).  Stop lying to me.

Just set realistic expectations.

10  Economy / Gambling / THE Bitcoinduit games thread on: August 27, 2011, 02:51:48 AM
No one else has done it yet, so I'll get it started.

I have 2 games on Bitcoinduit.

http://bitcoinduit.com/The_Forever_Game
1.15x, 15% jackpot,  Zero fees
This game has been running for over 10 days, and I expect it to run for much longer.
The jackpot is 9.48 BTC.  Someone is always going to get in to try to snag the jackpot, hence the name: The Forever Game

http://bitcoinduit.com/FRIDAY_20_gets_2  (this thread got deleted)
I will pay 2 BTC to the 20th bet
1.34x, 10% jackpot, Zero fees
there are currently 13 bets, and the jackpot is 1.68 BTC

I know Bitcoinduit has on their front page that you can't make a new game "currently", but i have faith that this awesome site will prevail and continue.

Thanks!
11  Economy / Gambling / Bitcoinduit vs Bitcat.ch - Who's best? on: August 25, 2011, 06:57:21 AM
Bitcat.ch was the first big automated ponzi site.  I've won (and lost) a lot of BTC on Bitcat.ch, and xyu is an honest game operator.

Bitcoinduit was the first site to let anyone make their own ponzi round, and they really shook up the ponzi game scene.  They pretty much put the "spreadsheet" ponzi guys out of business, even if Bitcat.ch was already nudging them out the door.  I've won (and lost) plenty of BTC on Bitcoinduit as well, and Jonathan is an honest game operator, too.

So, who is better today?  I have to say Bitcoinduit.  Why?  Let me enumerate the ways:

* Bitcinduit charges no fees after the 0.1 BTC taken from the round creators opening bet.  Bitcat.ch charges 0.03 from each bet.  A fee from the round creator seems more fair than a fee from every entry.

* Bitcoinduit shows the current pot on the game page.  I have to whip out the calculator to figure the current pot on Bitcat.ch.

* Bitcoinduit's main page allows you to sort by several different criteria, including jackpot size and expire time.

Bitcat.ch's "make your own game" feature is pretty new.  I expect they will catch up with / match / exceed Bitcoinduit's feature set soon.

The good news for us ponzi players is that competition is good.  These two sites will compete for *our* business.  I'm excited to see the featires they will be rolling out in the future.

14  Economy / Gambling / I like the new ponzi idea - 10th get 1, 20th gets 2, etc on: August 24, 2011, 05:57:46 PM
This is a great idea.  I just got in 10th_bet_gets_1BTC_p2: http://bitcoinduit.com/10th_bet_gets_1BTC_p2

I assume it's the round owner making the payment manually, not Bitcoinduit doing it automatically.

This would be a great option for bitcoinduit to add so it does get done automatically.
15  Economy / Gambling / Great ponzi games you are missing out on on: August 22, 2011, 11:41:06 PM
* "Instant" fee payout:
http://bitcat.ch/rounds/32

the operator in this game will pay you out 9.5% of the bet above you.  No waiting.  (well, he has to be at the computer, so it's not instant).  This is a great new twist on "regular" ponzi.

* The Forever Game:
http://bitcoinduit.com/game/viewRound.php?id=The_Forever_Game

Already running since Aug 16th, this game will never end.  It's got the highest active jackpot on Bitcoinduit at 8.8650 and is 2nd in total payouts for active games.  People will always get in at the end to try and get the jackpot, which means a never ending game, which means you will eventually get paid.  Disclosure - I started this game.

* Special Twitter Ponzi:
http://bitcoinduit.com/Special_Twitter_Ponzi

There are 3 or 4 of us who keep getting in to grab the jackpot.  No one has got it yet.  Grin  It's making for a lively game.

Join any or all of these games.  You won't regret it.
16  Economy / Gambling / bitcoinduit is GOING OFF TONIGHT! on: August 21, 2011, 09:18:41 AM

I can't even recommend a specific game, because they are all going off hard right now!  Look at the ponzi list, see what's current, and get in and win!
17  Economy / Gambling / The Forever Game - LARGEST Jackpot - HIGHEST payout total on: August 16, 2011, 04:47:11 AM
http://bitcoinduit.com/game/viewRound.php?id=The_Forever_Game

I've come to realize, in this day and age of plentiful ponzi, that a quality game is most important.  A game that will run for a long time.

To this end, I have created The Forever Game.

* Zero Fees
* Large Jackpot
* 1.15x low payout = get paid sooner and get back in
* 48 hour expire time
* 1 BTC minimum bet

These factors encourage people to play multiple times, and to get in at the end to try and snag the big jackpot.

I also pledge that I will not start another ponzi round until this one is done, even if it never ends.  I will put my full marketing into this game, and no others.  There are too many sub-par, sparsely played ponzi rounds.  We need a few good quality rounds instead.

So, come on and enter The Forever Game, may it run forever!

20  Economy / Gambling / Thoughts on Ponzi and Bitcoinduit on: August 14, 2011, 04:21:42 AM
You all know I love a good ponzi.  I'm a ponzi addict.  Bitcoinduit has their ponzi site where anyone can make a ponzi game.  It rocks.  They did a really good job with it.  It turns out it rocks TOO MUCH.

Ponzi used to be a sure winner, and long as you got in early.  These days, because of Bitcoinduit's awesome site, there are a million games to choose from.  Now, many, or even most, of these games die out after only 3 or 4 bets.  Some die after 2 bets.

My point: choose your ponzi carefully.  There's no need to put up with high fees (or any fees) when there are so many games to choose from.

I think ponzi can still be a profitable pursuit, but it's not the sure fire thing it used to be.  Now, we need to look for extra bonuses, like guaranteed matching, or fees paid back to bettors. The game that goes above and beyond to get bettors is the one we want to enter.

Be wary.  Be informed gamblers.  And good luck to you.
