To me, the top performers have been BlocPal (actually have a working product), BNB (because binance, duh) and chainlink!
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin's Ups and Downs over the last 10 years on: November 24, 2019, 10:06:39 AM
Y'all probably know I'm a big fan of these guys now - but seriously, I had to share this. A complete overview of the ups and downs of BTC over the past decade:

I think that amidst all the market chaos that we're currently going through, it's important to remind ourselves that we've already been through hell and worse.

My top events:

2008: First whitepaper comes out by this random guy named Satoshi Nakamoto

2011: First big competitors such as Litecoin start to emerge

2013: First BTC ATM launches in a coffeeshop in Canada

2016: Steam videogame platform starts to accept BTC

2017: Bitcoin hits $19K.

What are your top/low moments??  Grin

4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Preparing for a recession... Gold or Bitcoin? on: November 19, 2019, 01:51:46 PM
I don't want to open up another gold vs bitcoin thread. I'm just curious because I read an article that discussed whether we should be preparing ourselves for an upcoming recession by buying bitcoin or gold:

I think the next recession won't be as big as the 2008 one (which, to me was a depression). Hence I'll stick with Bitcoin for now.

Cool article about how Marcus (head of Facebook's Libra) views Bitcoin:

What's funnny is that the guy is obviously biased towards Libra and yet sees the usefulness in Bitcoin. Digital Gold!

9  Economy / Speculation / Are we looking at Bitcoin down to $5K? on: October 11, 2019, 03:17:13 PM
Two weeks ago everything seemed like we were on a bullish trend towards a 12K mark. Now we're all fearing a 5K resistance level. Thoughts?

^^^ good insights on why btc could go up and down.

"Experts believe that Bitcoinís performance will improve as the US-China trade war intensifies or a no-deal Brexit comes closer."
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Is this why Bitcoin is crashing? on: September 27, 2019, 05:43:46 PM
Well, maybe crashing isn't the right word - but it's definitely dropping in price. Here's a cool overview of what's happening:

My key takeaways:

  • September is typically a bad month
  • Baakkt is not doing very well
  • Itís worth noting the cryptocurrency is still up about 127% on a year-to-date basis

11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin vs Stocks vs Gold | The Ultimate Comparison on: September 21, 2019, 07:02:59 AM

16  Economy / Trading Discussion / Trading crypto vs forex - which is better? on: June 11, 2019, 04:27:55 PM
So I'm subscribed to this pro program (which I recommend by the way) and they compare how it's much easier to understand forex (because there's typically an underlying cause-effect associated to currencies going up and down) whereas crypto might be more profitable but much harder to explain and therefore much risky...

Thoughts?  Huh

If I'm in it for the short-term value, should I just stop doing crypto and go hard on forex?
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Where can I pay with Bitcoin? on: June 11, 2019, 11:09:07 AM
Soooo... any other places where I can shop with BTC aside from these five?

Would love to transition all of my family expenses to crypto!

Thanks in advance!
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Is this how we regulate Bitcoin? on: June 11, 2019, 10:47:59 AM
I'm falling in love with these guys lately - they have some really cool ideas.

Anyways, here's where I come from:

Key highlights:

Utilizing the underlying tech of virtually every cryptocurrency, we can police our own. With blockchain, smart contracts, and the very same miners currently working to provide the heart of Bitcoin, Ether, XRP, etc., etc., we can eliminate virtually every scam ICO as well as ensure that exchanges and wallets are adhering to industry requirements.

It really boils down to one of the most basic set of commands known to man ó If, Then, Goto, and Else. Except now we have the power of smart contracts where we can ensure that the parameters are completely met along the way, and we can verify these requirements via the blockchain at any given time.

This truly is how we can regulate Bitcoin and virtually any currency isn't it? I mean we already have the power it's just a matter of putting all the pieces in place.

19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is this the end for EOS? on: June 10, 2019, 01:09:15 PM
Guys what the hell this article freaked me out:

I mean it's just a rating I get that and the author of the article says that EOS is doing just fine but this whole centralization idea has sparked negative comments around EOS.
