1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Claymore mixed hash rates on: September 23, 2020, 09:54:22 PM
https://share.icloud.com/photos/0y4_kCcxTa7UtxZnCGL0jdGVg

So I have 8 RX 580 GPU

On cudominer I was getting 140-168 mh/s. I tried over clocking but only 7 out of 8 gpu would ever get 100% utilisation. I am currently trying claymore but 2 cards are only doing 9mh/s
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / How do I over clock sapphire RX 580 ? on: September 19, 2020, 07:07:14 PM
I’ve downloaded MSI burner. I tried messing around with some settings but it didn’t seem to affect the hash rate? Do I need to download something else
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / ASRock H110 where is gen1 on bios? PCI8 on: September 01, 2020, 08:51:28 PM
I’ve got 7 out of 8 RX 580 8GB GPU working on Cudominer. But the others all worked by changing from auto to Gen1 or Gen2. I only have pci up to 7. So I can’t change the pci 8 to gen1. Where is it? The computer does find the gpu but the utilisation is 0%
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / 8 x rx58 GPU - Nice hash and Cudo Mniner not working!? on: August 11, 2020, 01:24:26 PM
Hi

First build. I managed to build the rig and get it up and running without any previous experience. However, apart from two cards that need another SATA connector to go to the power supply which I think it wants a 6 pin but I don't have anymore 6 pin left...

Anyway, I tried Claymore but this wouldn't work. DAG not doing something then something about ports. I tried Nice Hash and it just kept crashing. I moved to cudominer. This time I managed to earn 36p before it crashed - I cancelled the CPU and kept just the GPU mining. This helped but again it works for a bit then crashes. I thought I had gone through varies guides properly. I thought Cudo and Nicehash were idiot proof. ..... ...
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / 8 x RX580 GPU build list on: July 01, 2020, 10:39:20 AM
I've made a list for a gpu miner... wanted some expert opinions

8 x RX 580 sapphire AMD Radeon 8gb
2 x DDR4 4gb ram
1 x SSD 120GB HD
1 x Aluminium open frame
1 x Intel G3930
1 x ASROCK H110 Pro

Wasn't sure on Corsair power supply for this, 1800w?

Plus do I need PCI risers?

Run it on Linux something beginning with S SANO or something?

6  Economy / Services / Enclosure for antminers on: March 11, 2020, 09:14:05 PM
I’ll pay for advice

I want to know what I need to do to keep the units cool.

I can house up to 6 Antminers. I have the power all sorted.
I would prob have 2 rows of 3 units high.
I would have a divider and use a 3D printed shell to focus the heat from one side to the other.
I need to know what extractor fan (I’m U.K. based) I would need. Can I put the extractor in the enclosure rather than the wall.

It’s more about temperature but I Wouldn’t mind if we could help reduce the sound
7  Bitcoin / Mining support / Garage repaired. Enclosure advice needed on: March 11, 2020, 04:47:05 PM
Hi

I'll repaired my garage sound proof and water tight. I have had an electrician come round and make sure the correct cabling are used 20amp cables and new fuse board all safe. Power networks has upgrade the fuse and electricity board.

I need to punch a hole in the wall to vent the heat. I would like to fit up to 6 miners. But I would like to know if this plan would work
https://ibb.co/YcTn5gY

Do I need to push all the heat (ebay 3-d printed vents) to one side which is divided in the middle. I was thinking 3 high 2 rows. With an extractor fan built into the enclosure and 8" thermally insulated ducting to the outside.

I've contacted a company who specialised in fans to suggest what extractor fan would be necessary. Think suggestions here were something that would do 4,000 CFM or 5,000cfm.

Any advice on build would be fantastic -

Would my design be over the top. Could I just do a large box with an extra fan like this

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / What would your ideal mining gpu rig be? on: January 24, 2020, 10:05:08 PM
Radeon VII x 8
WD Blue SSD 120gb
AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2950X
ASUS B250 mining expert
Power supply 1600w x 2
2 x 4GB DDR4
Cost prob somewhere around 7k?

Anything missing?
10  Bitcoin / Mining support / Wanted blueprints for Antminer wooden unit on: January 21, 2020, 03:06:55 PM
Hi.

I want to put a container inside my garage to host 2-4 antminers. I have a window which I'll take out and have the extraction fan on to remove the heat and hoping the passive intake will be enough as long as I remove the heat.

I have seen designs of 5'x'6x6-7' wooden units with heat resistant materials and 8" thermally insulated ducting. I have a carpenter but would need more than just an idea in my head.

Any help be ace.
11  Bitcoin / Mining support / Antminer S17+ x 6 in garage setup - help on: January 18, 2020, 02:11:10 PM
Hi guys,

I wanted to start a tiny mining farm. I've got the correct power cables setup for covering between 5-6 miners in the garage. Due to not being able to run a lot of miners I thought I would go for the highest hash rate possible at 73th/s.

The garage is empty and I'm about to replace the garage door with bricks and a soundproof door and the single pane glass window with double glazing. The roof has been replaced and is water tight now.

I was reading about setups and it appears possibly building a shed 6' wide x 3' deep x 7' high with a wood between the units fans - to create the cool aisle and hot aisle. I would then need an extractor fan (50cm?) to pull heat out and I assuming need to put a hole in the wall to fan it outside. I need an air filter to draw air in (any recommendations?). I would put the s17+ on wire racks.

Could someone help with a bit more info or tips on a build. I am only making assumptions.

I started off with 500 in mind but after learning about amps and volts... realised this wasn't possible without a power station haha.

Thanks everyone, if I've been stupid please be gentle.
