1  Other / Meta / Spam reduction: Making moderation more powerful on: July 31, 2021, 04:49:39 AM
Spammers are all over the forum and while guys like actmyname are doing a great job of tagging them neutral, I think there should be something the forum needs to implement as well.

This is what I want to suggest.

Getting X number of posts deleted by moderators = Getting a ban for Y number days from wearing signatures.

Getting XX number of posts deleted = Permanently disabled from wearing a signature

This can be further divided into sections if deemed necessary.

20+ Posts deleted in the last 30 days = banned from posting in the Marketplace section

50+ posts deleted in last 30 days = banned from posting outside Other section

This will encourage the users to spam less and fear deletion which will overall enhance the quality of comments made by them. I am not sure if such a system already exists and if it does, please inform me. We all know signature space is the biggest reason for all the spam.
2  Economy / Reputation / Planned merits vs actual merits on: July 29, 2021, 10:56:58 PM
Please note, I am not accusing anyone but just sharing my opinion on how some users are giving merits to the accounts than to the posts.

Let's have a look at some screenshots. Have a look at the timestamps of the merits given.

( Gozie51 is part of the spammer list by actmyname)

Is it actually possible to read 4 posts in 4 different sections within less than 2 minutes? It looks like he just decided that he wants to give merits and clicked the last posts of them and sent merits.

Even if you read the posts, it should normally take 2-5 minutes considering the post was merit-worthy. Below are some examples of actual merits given.

It is obvious that fast merits are possible within the same thread as you scroll down.

I could not find any other member on the forum with a similar style of giving out merits and hence I am creating this thread. I respect ryptopreneurBrainboss a lot and I hope asking some questions publicly is not a problem if everything is clean.

I have some other patterns that are worth looking at, will keep updating the thread.

If someone wonders why would someone rotate merits so hard? It's because hampuz and campaigns like duelbits require large number of merits to join the campaign and such tactics get you slots.

Rruchi man has almost always got merits from CB on all of his posts.
3  Economy / Reputation / Abuse of DT by odolvlobo? on: June 11, 2021, 09:57:19 PM
This thread has certainly helped a lot of users: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5034315.0

But odolvlobo has left negative feedback as I can see for Mr.Spider703 getting tips from users. How idiotic and bizzare is that?

If someone is helping others accelerate their transactions and getting tips from happy users in return, how is that a scam? I would like an explanation from odolvlobo.

Interesting to note that other users have left positive feedback for him helping them. This leads me to believe he is not faking acceleration service.

NOTE: I was not contacted by anyone to speak for Mr.Spider703, but as a user of the forum if I see someone tagging others for no reason, I will speak up.
4  Economy / Reputation / HotSwap - A possibility for members to get their money back? ChuckBuck on: May 21, 2021, 09:18:06 AM
I see there is feedback from HotSwap to ChuckBuck that reads "Purchased 3 Zeusminers Blizzards. Effortless and quick transaction, with great communication throughout. Excellent seller!"

There is also a feeback from Chuck to HotSwap about the same deal, so that confirms the deal did happened.

There are allegations towards HotSwap for a huge amount of scam so I just had a small question- Since Chuck has the address of HotSwap (as they delivered the miner so something cannot be delivered without a designated address) isn't it feasible for Chuck to post their address publicly so that users who got scammed can register their complaints?

I know Chuck can deny this without any questions being privacy is important but the amount scammed is gigantic and I think it's worth risking someone's privacy for such an amount specially when it's scammed off other members. It would actually gain Chuck tons of praises from the scammed victims.

I haven't done 100% research so please make me aware of any facts I might have missed.
5  Other / Meta / Ponzi schemes & Investor Based Games on: May 21, 2021, 07:17:14 AM
I usually don't visit the Investor-Based-Games section at all but I was there today and I see something very interesting that has pushed me into asking this question.

I think the section is made for Ponzis exclusively which is what I understand from the section's sub-heading.

So if the section is only made for the Ponzis then is the negative trust feedback left on every Ponzi warranted?

Let me make it very clear, I am strictly against these schemes but if the admin has decided that there is space for Ponzi schemes, do we as members leaving trust on them is valid? Maybe we can rather make a topic inside the section that clarifies there is a certain risk involved in these Ponzis.

NOTE: I don't want to create any kind of controversy and the sole intention is to understand the forum better. I have myself reported a Ponzi recently but that is where I somehow felt it's wrong.

6  Other / Meta / Merits = Likes, the new standard? on: May 19, 2021, 08:31:54 PM
It was painful to see this comment coming from a reputed and active member of the forum and this gives me an impression that people are still using merits as they use likes on FB, which they will spend only towards their friends.

Instead of using your alt account to open a thread in Reputation with a somewhat accusatory tone, you should have just posted a Scam Accusation from your main account. You might have even earned a merit or two.

My question is - when you merit a post, do you check their username and if you aren't friends with them, you wouldn't give them merit?

I was under the impression that merit is meant to reward good content to make sure there are better posters and lesser spammers eventually on the forum. If Nutildah is looking up at the username and their history with the user, then I am sure a lot of other users must be following the same path.

If that's the case, why shouldn't we call it as like instead of merit because like can be subjective and everyone may have their own likes but merit is a very specific word and reflects good work.
7  Other / Meta / Post all your public data [EXPERIMENT] on: May 19, 2021, 07:48:35 PM
So I was inspired by the Stake your Bitcoin address here and wondering if we need a thread where we can stake/mention all our public data which we want others to know.

Profile is a good place to grab all the details about someone but there is limited space and people cannot put everything there. So do you guys think we need a thread where we can post all data we want to make public?

I can maintain and manage all the data very accurately. So basically I would create tiles here in the OP with each username who post their details and when anyone needs to find the contact details of any user they can click the username and will be linked to the post where the user has posted all their details.

An example would be

BTC Address: 12Ggujt4C3jTQ9goJWWgDVnSkyzbjp7ktV
ETH Address: NA
Telegram ID: NA
Skype: NA
Discord: NA
Services: Signature Management, Bounty management, writer, coder, etc

I think one can mention anything they want others to know about them like the services they provide. In simple words, all the users' portfolios in one place so it's easy to find any details about anyone. Of course whoever wants to participate and others can avoid. How do you guys feel about it?

If majority of the users feel this is a bad idea then I would gladly lock the thread.
8  Economy / Reputation / how has TronBuilding avoided negative trust? (PONZI) on: May 19, 2021, 02:17:04 PM
Usually all the ponzi schemes are painted in red but this one is missed, so please someone from DT tag them because I have tagged them but it won't be visible to new users who might get trapped in the ponzi.

Thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5132632.0

Reason for accusing them? They are offering 254% returns within 65 days which to me in unrealistic and even offering other plans like 198% in 55 days.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Crypto-Casinos and KYC on: May 15, 2021, 03:48:09 AM
I have 2 questions which I would like everyone to please answer and based on the answers can we can have a clear picture.

1- Would you gamble at a crypto-casino knowing it would ask you for KYC documents before withdrawal?

My opinion: No, because fiat casinos offer much better services, odds, and games so I would never want to do KYC at a crypto casino and if I was going to do it, I would rather play at a fiat casino like bet365. There are countless options of exchanging your Bitcoins to skrill/neteller and deposit to play. I don't think that's a problem for anyone so unless crypto casinos offer better services, I won't play there if KYC is required. On top of everything else, the main reason why crypto was made was to keep ourselves anonymous and if crypto casinos should follow the same path.

If a player cheated the casino by any means, then the casino should just ban the player because asking for KYC is not going to solve the case.

2-  Do you feel safe giving out your KYC to online crypto-casinos?

My opinion: After the documents are sent, they go through a number of people and online casinos keep changing their staff from time to time and in some case, if a staff member knows my address and in case I am a high-roller I would be in some serious trouble because the staff member can track me and even blackmail me to some extent. I am ok with giving my identity to known sites like bet365 or williamhill but I am still not comfortable verifying myself at a lesser-known crypto casino.

10  Economy / Reputation / Freebitco.in openly posting user data on: March 14, 2021, 11:58:18 PM
I was reading this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5323816.0

I don't know who is right and who is wrong here but this thread lead me to Adriano2010 trust page: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=514126

I saw the negative feedback from the support of freebitco.in TheQuin that reads "Faucet abuser." which might or might not be true.

But the link shared in the reference is: Deleted for privacy.

Now I am not saying whether that guy is a faucet abuser or not but why is freebitco.in publicly posting the IP addresses of the users that are accused of being controlled by the same owner?

Does this mean that if I am suspected of multiple accounts some day, they will publicly dox me and give out my IP address and email addresses? That just doesn't look right to me. Would like the community to please share their views.

11  Economy / Reputation / legendster and the story of retaliatory feedbacks on: March 10, 2021, 06:26:18 PM
The recent victim being myself, I decided to dig it deep and find whether he left negative feedback out of context to just me or he does it to everyone and the research bring out some results which I would like everyone who trusts him to check and decide whether this guy can be trusted, let alone being in Default Trust for the forum.

James.lent vs legendster

Legendster scammed user james.lent in 2016 by copying others work and by selling it as his own.

Source: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1380870.0

After being caught, he managed to pursue trusted members into changing their negative feedback into neutral. Everyone thought he made a mistake and deserved a second chance so changed their feedback from negative to neutral.

But how would you explain legendster leaving negative feedback to james.lent just after he exposed legendster publicly..

The feedback reads "Hello" and is negative and is left on 1st March, which is the next day after being exposed.

Source: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=396480

So basically he sold someone images which he copied and after being caught instead of apologizing he left negative feedback to the victim himself. How can someone approve of this behavior and add this user to their trust list?

The user legendster was in DT until recently which is even more concerning. You are adding someone to DT who admitted being mad and aggressive 10% of the times in his life and has a tendency to fight others even when he is at fault.

JSRAW vs legendster

JSRAW left the same feedback which most of the users did at time when they saw legendster cheating others by copying designs and selling them as his own.

JSRAW is one of the only guys who didn't remove his feedback or turned to neutral and guess what? He got a retaliatory feedback from legendster later once he felt JSRAW won't remove his feedback which was there for a valid reason.

legendster left negative feedback to JSRAW that reads "I don't trust this person." and has no reference and I tried to find if JSRAW has made any mistakes in past but could not find any.

12  Economy / Reputation / Vod's double standards on: March 05, 2020, 07:49:58 AM
Had immense respect for Vod but it has now gone because of how he acts when his friends are at wrong side.

Compare the situations below

TECSHARE trust - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=15728

What Vod's rating says is as follow: Mentally ill stalker who will post private messages then lie about it as revenge for ignoring him. Avoid.

This means Vod does not support the practices of posting personal conversations publicly.

Here is what Lauda did: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5230267.0

Posting personal messages in public is what Lauda in fact did. Vod is now in defend act rather than to tag Lauda is this not a clear case double standards?
13  Economy / Gambling / FORTUNEJACK REQUIRES ID PROOF - BE AWARE BEFORE YOU WIN BIG! on: March 02, 2020, 06:01:36 AM
Please note Fortunejack asks for ID proofs and find ways to eat your winnings so please use other casinos or at least dont win big on fortunejack ..
14  Economy / Reputation / Is the whole trust system a joke? LAUDA OWNS IT? on: March 02, 2020, 05:14:04 AM
I would like to make a sincere discussion here and if you want to tag me feel free to do so because I would myself leave the community the way it is going right now and I made a new account to at least safeguard main account.

Thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5227531

First of all let me clarify that Lauda and the campaign manager for Fortunejack Hhampuz both wear the signature of FortuneJack

The OP of the scam accusation is discussing about 5 bitcoins so it's not that he is talking about bits which can be ingored.

Op withdraws small amounts - FJ never says anything and let him do so.

Op withraw a bigger amount - FJ bans him and doesn't let him take his money

My question first of all to FJ is that " Why don't you verify accounts initially if you want to verify their accounts later?" Secondly why would you only ask such ID proofs on big withdrawals and not smaller ones?

I respect really how Hhampuz dealt with the situation, even though he took the side of the casino he is paid by.

JUST READ THIS POST AND PLEASE I BEG EVERYONE TO BE AS NEUTRAL AS POSSIBLE : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5227531.msg53908818#msg53908818

How excellently suchmoon quoted the whole situation in a shot post, and he is absolutely right too!

let me list the supporters and their points, while the guys supporting FJ are only Lauda and the campaign manager who migh fear a loss if FJ gets red painted

@Blossom15 dared to open his mouth - Got red tagged the same day! here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=1244973

another guy said this in support of OP

To be fair, he just said "it would be great if FJ chimed in".

I don't see how OP could provide any proof: if he's lying (historically, the most likely scenario), he'll just repeat that the accusations are baseless. If he's telling the truth, there's not much he can do to prove it, either.

The only ones able to provide clarity are FJ, and if they choose to, they'll probably post information on IP address, browser timestamps etc which will convince anyone with half a brain that the accusations here are baseless. If they don't, however, I don't see how this thread can become anything else than a waste of time.

ANOTHER GUY dared to speak against FJ and the defender tagged him just because he said against them

Every single claim of this type brought against FortuneJack has been false AFAIK. Therefore, please provide evidence or close the thread.

Ahem Ahem

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3463720.60 (This claim of shady act on part of FJ was TRUE and they did give the guy his money back, but after much pestering.) Looks like the sign wearers also hv to sell der soul.

@OP see this and do provide more proofs.

Finally someone made a valid point as below

The registration date and the time they login somehow show that they are connected considering they have same ip. AFAIK having same public IP is common when using a vpn which maybe the OP will used as reason. But the proof is no doubt that the 2 account is connected.  Cry

But then my question is all the withdrawals must be checked by only the bigger ones are stopped?

Another supporter who I am sure must be on hit-list for Lauda to even find a little mistake and paint him

Amelik just don't care about what others said, sites like these are forced to prove you are having an another account not otherwise, they have the resources which you don't.

As I am a person that travels a lot, for me it's normal and usual to connect from a public mcdonalds or starbucks when I am away to check what games are on. When I am being asked by bet365 my last public ip's, it's not my job nor obligation to provide them with such things. Each time after 1 rush call speaking with the manager, he gets soft and things get back to normal.

Crossing at a moment an IP with someone can be so easily, more if you live in a state where online gambling is not legal yet and maybe you're using a VPN.

A reputed member tried to step up and make a valid point but ignored

In what way does this post make trading with allahabadi high-risk, as per the red trust reference? Even assuming OP's claim is frivolous - he/she isn't being red-trusted but someone discussing the claim in the thread is. That paints a sad picture of FJ signature campaign.

Another supporter below

I guess this should serve as a lesson to all gamblers out there that do not gamble with Bookmakers/Casinos who have poor TOS. I'm kinda disappointed TBH how the crypto gambling industry is handling the multi-account situation there are far better ways to detect multi-accounts than merely IPs ( which I have explained here ). UIDs are far better at detecting multi-accounts and have a very low rate of false-positive scenarios. If a solo developer like me could implement a UID verification system and would outright block the registration of a new account if the user's UID matched someone else, preventing the loss of time and money for both me and them, I expect these casinos to go above and beyond.

I do understand this is one of the ways these casinos make money and one could argue all day about reading TOS before you put your money in these casinos but TBH I believe they don't need to rely on these practices. Like if the OP had lost the bets etc the casino would have gladly swallowed the losses but when its time to pay up, they go through all this verification and stuff, TBH its shady behaviour in my opinion and this isn't just limited to FJ, I have seen a couple of other casinos which have similar TOS. What you as a gambler can do is stop gambling at these casinos and demand better TOS. Otherwise, why not just burn your private keys/seed?

Also if this is the industry standard, It looks like the most profitable business to me. Basically, in theory, one could run a casino with similar TOS and when the times come to pay up large sums and your bankroll is kinda running low, You create a fake IP log of sorts and bail yourself out by not paying the amount due and by returning the original deposited amount. No one would be able to argue against you since you will already have established your brand and one-off cases would be dismissed as trolls and shit. I will look around and see how many bookmakers and dice websites have these kinds of TOS and are going unnoticed. Looks like a quite lucrative business to me... hmm.

A valid point made below

How he did damages to the site? They had enough evidence to block him earlier

I wonder the same
