5  Economy / Currency exchange / Is there any better alternative to CoinBase? on: May 04, 2018, 12:58:24 AM
Is there any alternative? CoinBase kind of screwed me over. I used to be able to send funds to an external wallet, but now they require a driver license or DMV ID. They don't accept passport or any other form of ID. I live in NYC and evening going an hour before the DMV opens, the line is already 3 blocks long. I don't have 3 hours to wait for an ID. Is there any alternative that doesn't charge a huge fee?

12  Bitcoin / Pools / BitCoinPlus.. . did I get ripped off? on: July 21, 2011, 06:58:51 AM
It's now almost 3 days and I still didn't get paid after cashing out.
I don't even see the unconfirmed coins yet.

How long does it normally take to process?
Did anyone else use BitCoinPlus and cashed out?
13  Other / Beginners & Help / BitCoinPlus - how long does it take to process a withdrawl? on: July 20, 2011, 11:47:34 AM
The first time for me was almost instant, I saw the unconfirmed payment in my client. However this time, it doesn't even seem like he sent it and its been almost 2 days. Isn't payment automated? Did I just get scammed?
14  Other / Off-topic / Urban Pet Spider on: July 14, 2011, 08:54:56 AM
So, one day I found a spider hanging around the side of my window, so I had decided he would make a good pet. Smiley
Each time I found a bug roaming around my place, I capture it with my hands and throw it in the web.
I had been feeling my spider for a few months and boy did he grow!
When I first found him, he was long and skinny, and now he grew big and round LOL!

Just a few mins ago I found a centipede, very small wasn't even big.
I threw it in the web and just seconds later my pet spider went in to action.. .
The centipede's legs were breaking off one by one and all I thought was ouch!
It's a damn good thing they have many more! LOL

Then just about 30 seconds later, I rubbed my eyes because I thought things were looking blurry.
It looked like my spider was shrinking.. . only to realize the crippled centipede ate my pet spider!!
Right away I went to google and found out centipede finds spiders as very tasty meal.
I then realized I sent my pet spider on a suicide mission. =[
15  Other / Politics & Society / Lawyer Trying To Trademark Bitcoin Explains His Legal Theory on: July 08, 2011, 10:40:18 PM
First, he claimed that "for strategic reasons," he and his wife had abandoned the US trademark filing... but, at the same time, they've commenced trademark applications in other countries, which have a first to file rule, rather than a first to use:

Quote
Simultaneously therewith, trademark applications have begun in those civil law countries, wherein, "first to use" status is not recognized as a defense to trademark registration. These civil law countries, which account for most of the world's population, and land mass, only recognize a "first to file" basis for trademark registration. The penalties for infringing trademarks in those civil law "first to file" countries are as severe as the common law jurisdictions, such as the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, etc., which utilize a "first to use" basis.

Therefore, jumping up and down exhorting that "Bitcoin" has been in use in the USA, or another common law country, since the dark ages is no defense, repeat no defense, to a claim of infringement of a properly registered mark in a "first to file" jurisdiction.

16  Other / Politics & Society / Would killing the minimum wage help? on: July 07, 2011, 02:37:16 PM
Republican Presidential candidate Michele Bachmann quoted "Literally, if we took away the minimum wage-if conceivably it was gone-we could potentially virtually wipe out unemployment completely because we would be able to offer jobs at whatever level."

We hear about and see in our own personal lives where people who once high paying and respectable jobs are now working in at fast food restaurants and retail clothing stores.

I do like having a minimum wage, since it helps protect the lower income class. However, considering how the economy is now and seeing many jobs being offered offshore, removing the min. wage law may actually help keep jobs within the states.

And wasn't one of the top causes of The Great Depression had to do with Herbert Hoover keeping wages from decreasing which ultimately lead to extremely high unemployment rate?

What are your thoughts on this?

18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Petition online retailers to use BitCoin? on: July 06, 2011, 07:46:20 AM
Do you think it would work if we had enough people to sign a petition or maybe even mail bombing online retailers to start accepting BitCoins? I mean, even Google creating an online wallet for BTC, maybe we an convince the other online services/stores to start accepting them as well?
