With the Presidential elections coming up in the United States of America, it's time for the popular and cliche accusations by both parties, Russia intervened, elections are rigged and what not.  I think eventually it's just the people at the receiving end and a ton of tax payers money going down the drain.

This makes me wonder why we aren't using blockchain technology powered with biometrics and blockchain for elections. Elections play a very important role in upholding the values of democracy. If the election process is not transparent, secure and tamper proof then the reliability and authenticity of whole process is at stake.

Biometrics can be combined with blockchain so that there is no multiple voting by the same person or impersonation. Use of blockchain can ensure tamper proof process. I came across interesting models of public blockchain that can be utilized for this. Take the example of Concordium. They claim to have "regulatory compliance" by design and privacy and verification of users' identity. What this essentially means is, even thought it's a public blockchain there is still an option for enabling privacy so that the concept of secret ballot is upheld. So one can verify that the votes were cast but at the same time, we cannot know to whom it was cast.

Academic Research being conducted shows that they have provable and fast finality as an advantage which can be suited for enterprise level scale so this might sure be useful for Elections. When we have such options, I wonder why we aren't using it yet.

I think public blockchains need to push further for greater awareness and provide solutions to real world problems. Then people will start seeing blockchain and crypto beyond the misinformation that it is being used for evil purposes.

Blockchain is a boon and only when we use it for useful purposes can we realize its full potential. We might have more public chains that can probably get involved in proving solutions for such real issues.

We should even have ways to incentivize people for casting a vote, this will encourage all citizens from coming out and participating in a vibrant democracy.

We are constantly being watched an monitored. Hackers are getting more sophisticated, and our identities are getting stolen. We need to take action NOW. If we don't act now, the monsters we created will come after us.

Identity Theft is a major concern in the modern age. With easy access to advanced technologies, replication and impersonation of information is relatively easy.

I strongly believe that the use of Blockchain Technology is the only solution to this problem. Use of Blockchain Technology would help us know how many times information was accessed. Who accessed it and what access privileges they had. This will not only help streamline identity management but also help bring in more transparency and accountability. It will also help preserve privacy.

Businesses are now preferring Blockchain Technology mainly for this very reason. I came across researchers from Denmark who were speaking about Concordium, initially I dismissed them and was quite critical. I think this might after all be a solution to fight cloning. When we know our information is private and we can verify it I think theres no need to worry. What do you think? With more scrutiny by governemnts we need to "lawfully protect ourself" without unnecessary harassment from government too.
