mtgox email address is valid.

I looked the email header using show details & found out this address *info@mtgox.com* <Mt.Gox@w001.mo.us.xta.net>

I also sent this email to info@mtgox.com, which is the real email of mtgox & they registered complaint & gave me a ticket.

42  Bitcoin / Mining support / Installing Catalyst 11.6 in Ubuntu 11.04 on: June 26, 2011, 05:46:23 PM
After help from many & learning some thing, I finally able to upgrade from catalyst 11.5 to catalyst 11.6 in Ubuntu 11.04.
Thanks to those who helped me.

You need to first have to uninstall the ati drivers comes with Ubuntu 11.04.
Go to Synaptic Package Manager & search field type fglrx.
It will give some results & you will see 4 files with names starting with flgrx.
Out of the 4 , 3 is already installed & 1 is not installed.
fglrx, fglrx-amdcccle & fglrx-dev is already installed
fglrx-modaliases is not installed. (You can't install fglrx-modaliases with the other 3)

Ok, now go to AMD site & in support & drivers,
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx

select desktop graphics-> Radeon HD series -> Radeon HD 6xxx Series PCIe -> Linux x86_64 & click display results.
It will open a page with AMD Catalyst 11.6 Proprietary Linux x86 Display Driver, file size is ~72MB, version 11.6, direct link is below.

http://www2.ati.com/drivers/linux/ati-driver-installer-11-6-x86.x86_64.run

Download the file & keep it in desktop.

To install this file, first have to make it executable & then run in terminal with root access.
Code:
chmod +x ati-driver-installer-11-6-x86.x86_64.run
sudo sh ati-driver-installer-11-6-x86.x86_64.run

It will run & will tell you that already drivers are installed & ask you to uninstall it or go for force install.
DON'T GO FOR FORCE INSTALL.

Now go to Synaptic Package Manger & select the 3 fglrx, fglrx-amdcccle, fglrx-dev which will have a GREEN box in front of it, check the 3 files & select Mark for complete removal. Sometimes it will ask you to remove other also if you select one file of the above.

fglrx-modaliases will have a GREY box, which means its not installed.

Click Apply & it will uninstall all the above 3.

Then again run
Code:
sudo sh ati-driver-installer-11-6-x86.x86_64.run

Now you will be able to install 11.6.

After installation is complete run
Code:
sudo aticonfig --initial -f --adapter=all
sudo reboot

After system reboot, you can able to login without any problem.

To over clock you must enable ati for OC/UC.

Code:
sudo aticonfig --od-setclocks=900,300 --adapter=0

Just run the above code in terminal to under clock memory to 300 Mhz & over clock core to 900 Mhz.
It will tell you that you have to enable OC/UC.
I am not sure here about the correct code as it is displayed in the terminal window itself, just use sudo with it for root access & to enable OC/UC

Code:
sudo aticonfig -od-enable

Now you can OC or UC as you want.

Also if you want to see temperature of all GPU's, use this code.
Code:
watch -n 5 aticonfig --odgt --adapter=all
Instead of 5 use 1 for 1 sec & it will update all the core temperatures every second.
You run it in separate terminal, so you can check it easily.

I hope this will help those who also searching & trying to install 11.6 in Ubuntu 11.04.

43  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Windows won't detect more than 4 GPU is MYTH on: June 18, 2011, 05:18:23 PM
I heard many saying ONLY Linux can able to detect more than 4 GPU's & Windows won't detect more than 4 GPU's.
ONLY Linux can able to use up to 8 GPU's or more.

Windows won't detect more than 4 GPU's is completely false & wrong.
Windows detects more than 4 cards at least in my rig, i have 7 cards so far & windows detects all the 7 cards.

Its the MINERS which WON'T mine more than 4 GPU's in Windows.

I am not sure, it was done intentionally or unintentionally.
Because normally Linux needs more work than Windows due to its open source & geeky & intellectual type.
With Linux you can do wonders with out paying even a single penny or bitcent, completely free.
But you have TO KNOW Linux programming & its structure .....
You can't just download, install & work in a software.
Linux needs more from you, make you learn more.

Since, Bitcoin developement MUST be free from all, it adopted open source & to make Bitcoin work early developers used the open source Linux for bitcoin client & also miners.
Gavin & his early developers created Bitcoin client both in Linux & Windows.
They simply know & wanted Bitcoin to spread as fast as it can.
But, the same didn't happen in miners.

I have so far never seen Gavin replying or developing mining program. His interest is to make Bitcoin the international currency both for online trading (internet) & offline trading (local).

Miners are mostly created in Linux then as many Windows users too wanted to mine, Windows binaries released.

In my opinion, here the CONTROLLING came. Forcing/blocking intentionally or unintentionally windows not to mine more than 4 GPU's.
In windows everything can be done even as novice. This seems not liked by some, so they put restriction.

The above picture clearly shows Windows with 7 GPU's.
4 are MSI R6970 graphics cards
2 are ASUS EAH5870 graphics cards
1 is Sapphire HD 5870 graphic card.

All are connected using extender cables from cablesaurus. NO crossfire cable used. Mother Board is MSI Big Bang Marshal.
Still one pcie slot is free, to which i can add another graphics card & can have 8 GPU's in Windows.

The OS is Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit.

I try to mine with 2 softwares & its variants.
Phoenix & Poclbm.
I tried GUIminer, PR up to 1.62, directly used phoenix & poclbm in command prompt also.

I disabled 3 cards & i run the above miners & it can able to mine with out any problem.
The minute i enable 5th card in device manager, miner gives error & exits.
Then whatever i do, miner both phoenix & poclbm just gives error when ever started, that it encountered a problem, search online for solution or close......

The moment i disable 5th card, i can able to mine.
All these done with out rebooting system.

I request mining program developers to review their code on windows.
I am not good in programming, so i can't do much myself.

Please rewrite your mining programming so Windows too mine more than 4 GPU's.
If not then the base for which Bitcoin is fighting won't be their. NO CONTROL BY ANYONE is the motto on which Bitcoin travels. That is killed by locking mining program not to mine more than 4 GPU's in Windows OS.

Its not order, but a humble request from a Windows user.

Thank you

45  Local / India / Buying & Selling Bitcoins and Liberty Reserve USD for Indian Rupees INR on: June 07, 2011, 07:55:13 PM
EDIT: Have to update post.
If doubt PM me.

Hi,

I came to know for many Indians, it hard to buy bitcoins.
So, i thought about selling bitcoins for bank transfer or cash.
You have to send money ONLY after confirming me about rate per bitcoins.
After i receive money , i send bitcoins to the address you give.
My rate will be some what higher than others due to a lot of transactions fees & difference in INR, LRUSD conversion rates.

Both Bitcoin & LRUSD transfer are irreversible.
So, when giving bitcoin receiving address & also liberty reserve bank account number, Please double check that you are giving correct number only.
If you give wrong number & i send money, it can't be retrieved & I WILL NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOU LOOSING BITCOINS OR LRUSD.

I am doing this for mostly Indians to buy bitcoins & I know its very harder for Indians to send money via international money transfer to buy bitcoins.
Also, you can't use your PayPal account to buy bitcoins.
Easy way to bitcoins is to buy directly from me or buy from others with liberty reserve.

Soon, i update with my bank details & commission details of www.libertyreserve.com..
46  Other / Off-topic / Windows 7 x86 reports memory wrongly on: June 06, 2011, 05:00:47 AM
I was aware that windows x86 only supports up to 3GB RAM even if you have more RAM installed.
I have 2 PC, in one PC, 2*2GB RAM is installed & In another PC, 1*4GB RAM is installed.

I am suing windows 7, 32 bit since it is released & have seen my memory in Mycomputers->properties that windows shows, 4.00GB (2.97 GB usable).
I also tried tweaks which enabled x86 to use up to 128GB RAM.

But now after some updates & also after sp1 update, RAM in BOTH system shows 4.00GB(2.00GB usable).
First i thought 1 RAM was fault, but not now, coz another PC has only single piece 4GB RAM & half of it can't go bad physically.

I uninstalled & reinstalled & again uninstalled SP1 & also most of the updates prior to SP1.

But still, i can see only 2GB RAM instead of 2.97GB RAM in both my PC.
Also, interesting thing is i never saw windows rounding up & showing.
Instead of 1.98 or something, it shows exactly 2 GB RAM usable.

Anyone using Windows 7, 32 bit(x86) also faces similar problem?
If not can you please give me your screen shot of installed updates, so that i can compare & find what update causing this STUPID behavior of windows.
47  Bitcoin / Mining / hashkill windows version needed on: June 04, 2011, 07:56:36 PM
hashkill, says it is faster than other miners.
But it is only LOCKED to Linux as developer "gat3way" is an opensource Linux fan or may be don't know Windows programming.
Some one with windows programming can develop windows version of hashkill in command prompt or better in GUI itself.

For this i hope a bounty can be set, so some programmers write windows version.

48  Bitcoin / Mining / 16x extender cable problem in MSI BB Marshal mother board on: June 03, 2011, 12:01:37 PM
My mother board is http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Big-Bang-Marshal--B3-.html

It has 8 pcie ports. The cards i use to mine are 5870. No crossfire.
Windows 7 32 bit, using 11.5 catalyst & 2.4 APP latest drivers.
One monitor & others cards with dummy connector.

I connected one card to 1st slot pcie_1 using 16x extender cable & in next slot connected another card using 1x-16x extender cable.
Both worked fine.
If i connect directly card to board then it takes 2nd slot also. so have to use cable.

I connected 3rd card in pcie_3 slot using 1x-16x extender cable. windows didn't detect card, so tried with another cable & windows didn't detect.
After some thought used 16x extender cable to connect 3rd card & windows detected.

after some time of mining again tried with 1x-16x extender cable, windows didn't detect card.

It seems i have to connect alternate cables in alternate slots for windows to detect.

pcie_1, pcie_3, pcie_5, pcie_7 with 16x extender cable &
pcie-2, pcie_4, pcie_6, pcie_8 with 1x-16x extender cable to connect 8 , 5870 cards.

Am i right?
why windows won't detect the card in alternate slot?
I don't have any more cards to try & also 16x extender cables.

The motherboard has 4 switches to switch on & off pcie. only 4 switches from PGE1, PGE2, PGE3, PGE4.
switching on/off PGE2 & others have no effect.

The rig is not my own, but its my share holders mining rig & i can't take risk.

Please some one help me by giving advice in this odd behavior.
Will same problem happen in Linux?
I will be surely able to run 8 cards by using alternative cables in alternative slots?

Thanks in advance.
49  Economy / Marketplace / bitcoinmarket.com is legitimate site & your coins are safe there on: May 31, 2011, 02:17:00 PM
I put 140 coins for sale at price 9.3 USD per coin & a guy rainer478 bought the coins on 29th April 2011.

So, far he hasn't sent me LRUSD for which he bought & I sent email to dwdollar or Dustin Dollar & i see no improvement.

It seems after they got bitcoins from me, they just run away.

How to get back my bitcoins?
Please anyone give some advice.

EDIT:
I wasn't aware that bitcoinmarket.com works as an escrow service. Until the seller confirms the payment received, the bitcoins stays in bitcoinmarket only. It doesn't go to buyer account until, he pays & seller confirms that buyer paid.
Since my buyer didn't respond, dustin cancelled order & my bitcoins came back to my account again.
I SAY BITCOINMARKET.COM is safe to trade with out worrying that some one will take your coins & run away with out paying.
50  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Tycho cheating every miners & soon destroy total bitcoin network completely. on: May 20, 2011, 11:03:18 AM
Hi,

[Tycho] is cheating every member in bitcoin forum & he is trying to bring down Bitcoin completly & even make bitcoin useless & has no value.

Before this happens, members have to save bitcoin by not going DEEP.

Bitcoin already reached world wide. So after bitcoin known to whole world, if it goes down, it will actually won't allow any decentralised e-currency which will come here after. Because people will always forced & remainded by govermnets & banks repeatedly by showing the fall of bitcoin & that will make people never to even try/trust if another/new decentralised currency comes because of the fear that, like bitcoin, new ones also will go down one day making all the money they spent in to waste & it made some one got richer by cheating.

Same like ponzhi scheme.

Why i particulary target at [Tycho] & says he is cheating.

Pleanty of reasons there.
The very first reason is , the first pool started is by slush & he still pays bitcoin genereated by his pool after 100 confirmations (before it was 120). All other new pools their also gives the coins to miners after some confirmation only, mostly 120, which takes time. BTCmine, Bitcoinpool, Eligus,..... except one pool bitpenny, which shutdown already. Bitpeeny gave instant payout.

Tycho, from the day he started pool, he started giving instant payout, that is he pays , the next minute the block solves, with out waiting for confirmation & for that he took 3% fee.
Also, he implemented another model PPS, where each share has constant coins & miner gets it whether block is valid or not.

In all these one thing is missing, which many failed to see or didn't said in open/public.
bitcoin is open source, so everything MUST be public.

For past 2-3 days, i am forced to think about mint coins.
I thought, if i have 3-4 Ghash/s & mine solo & also got lucky then, i will GENERATE coins. that means all are new coins which never used. Instead of giving the coins to my share holders, i thought of selling the mint coins for higher price, ex; 1 mint coin = 3 btc, which will give me more profit, so i can give my share holders more dividend/profit.

But, with 244000+ difficulty, it is impossible for me to go solo.
Then only i got struck by the bitter truth, that bitcoin is actually going down & Tycho is the black sheep.

From the day tycho started the pool, he gives instant payment, whether it is proportional or pps.
If propotional, he takes 3% as fee & if PPS then 10%.
Many members are very happy, that it was the 2nd pool, started & running sucessfully after slush, so many joined the pool. But why should tycho give bitcoins with out even knowing the block is valid or not.
many including me thought, he is taking risk. But in reality, he is BACKED UP BY A BANKER.
The banker gave him money before he started his pool & he bought bitcoins with it & used that bitcoin is to give instant payout.

But, what happens next is killing bitcoins.
He NEVER , again i say NEVER showed which blocks, his pooled solved & how many blocks became invalid. Thats is, he pays miners money, instantly, so no one worried about the coins he got from the blocks which was solved by pool members.

Beleive me, he got/getting coins after 120 confirmation & selling it in black market for each coin more than 30-40 USD.
There are many people out their who wants to buy mint coins, because mint coins have not transferred before, so it wont come in to normal users that easily, that means it CANNOT BE TRACED, UNLESS THE BLOCK ADDRESS IS KNOWN. Since tycho never relieves block address those mint coins may have bought by illegal drug dealers, bankers & ALL WRONG doers.
What he got in return more fiat currencies, that helped him buy, not only bitcoins in circulation but hardware also.

just think about a simple example.
He mined 50 coins. Instead of giving it to members, he gives what in his balance.
Then he sells the 50 mint coins to some one who NEEDS it & he sells for around 3 times,if take, then he gets 150 bitcoins or even in worst case if he sells for 1 bitcoin 30 USD, then for 50 Mint coins, he gets 1500 USD.

Besides he also takes 3%, if proportional & 10% if PPS.

His pool size increases daily, while no other pools increasing that rapidlly.

From 500 Ghash/s to now 1000+ Ghash/s in less than 20 days.

While all other pools get attacked, Ddos.....every pool, slush, btcmine, bitcoinpool...
while his pool never so far attacked majorily.
Here after he will create fake attacks.

In my view, he already has hardware which can able to mine around 500-600 Ghash/s.
It is not pool members, it is Tycho's OWN hardware which he bought buy some backend.

I even suspect, he is the one actually ddosing other pools.

Also, many things their. If other pools got attacked miners change to his pool.
So, he may be attacking every pool, so that he has highest hash rate. that means no other pools, even they got back from attack will have very less hash rate. Coz many will stick to Tycho's & don't want to change.

That makes he gets more coins than any other pools.
Also he has defintely running predetermined scripts which randomly disables miners from mining in his pool. That makes, the miners won't get anything, thinking rpc error..., while Tycho's OWN miners will be mining continously, so again he gets coins.

He is the only pool which uses email address as not only user name , but also worker names.

You members remember a month ago, the http://freebitcoins.appspot.com/ got hacked with GMAIL accounts.
I have doubt, it was done by Tycho, not to take free coins, but to test his hardwares.

I also had a PM with him on about april's fool joke of mining with paypal address.
In that PM, i asked about mint coins & his extra payment, he never replied.

Due to his OWN hardware addition makes the difficulty increase at very high rate, which makes even small pool miners to close their pool.

So, even today , every member moves out of Tycho's pool, he will have at least 500+ Ghash.

He is waiting patiently by steadily increasing his pool size with his OWN hardware.
Once he knows his own hardware hash size is at least 20- 30 % more than total bitcoin members hash size in all pools, then he will attack, not in the name of Tycho, but Tycho, will be here as innocent as it looks & everyone will believe CIA or russians or banks attacked & collapsed bitcoin completly.
he will hit at right time, when no one can do anything.
I don't know, who he is backed by?
May be US or some other country or even bank or the worst paypal, coz bitcoin will affect everyones income which they get by cheating people.

So, before everything goes out of hand, remove black sheeps from bitcoin, so bitcoin rules the world decentrlized.

52  Bitcoin / Project Development / Future bitcoin APPLICATION & feature requests on: April 24, 2011, 06:27:32 AM
Hi,

Its a request about application not client.

Bob & Sam are common men with less computer skills. Both have to use bitcoins for transaction.

Bob(Buyer/B) buys flowers from Sam(Seller/S) for bitcoins.

B goes to S shop & see flowers, & he wants to buy. He sees "we accept Bitcoins" logo.
The flowers are priced in USD. B wants to buy a flower which is priced at 10 USD.
He asks S, how much in bitcoin. S tells in bitcoin & B pays, wait for confirmation, then S gives B the flowers.

Its purely my thought, may be wrong.

The most preferred method to use bitcoin for day to day life is not by physical means, but by handy devices.
I believe cell phones can help here with internet.

Most of the cell phones today at least support Java programs/application & most cell phones can connect to internet by wifi, 3G, 4G......

B using his cellphone buys flower. He opens the application which is password protected. The application has no addresses & no coins.
he goes to shop & see the flower & asks the price in bitcoins.
S uses his cell phone or he already knows the bitcoin price against USD.
still, S opens the same application B uses in his phone, goes to mtgox or any site & knows the usd vs btc price & tells it to B.
B thinks & he also checks usd vs btc using his cell phone & wants to buy for the price S said.
B asks S to give his address, so that B can send bitcoins.

S opens his application, the application shows a receiving address which is received from internet form S account.
Now S asks B cell phone number, & enters B's cell phone number in to the application & the application sends an SMS to B from S cell phone.
B receives the SMS message & his application takes the address from SMS message.
Then B receives/withdraw bitcoins from his account from internet & send coins to S from application.
The application connects to internet again & send bitcoins & also B receives a message from application "Coins sent"
Same time S receives a message in his application that coins from an address with B's cell phone number received.
And after 10 minutes or so, both B & S receives message from the application in their cell phone that the transaction is confirmed.
S gives B the flowers & B leaves.

This is my base idea & i think this method will help anyone to use bitcoins with out much knowledge & much worry.
The cell phone don't have bitcoins, addresses & also database.
so, even if the person looses his cell phone he don't have to worry, coz the application is password protected.
he goes to his home & can change/block his cellphone from receiving addresses, bitcoins from his account.

Where is his account stored? I have no idea. May be a site like ewallet, or he accesses remotely his own computer, or he accesses by connecting USB drive which has portable bitcoin client......

The application must use internet to retrieve a valid address that belongs to S, it must able to get the address from the SMS B receives, It must connect to B's wallet to get bitcoins, It sends to bitcoins to S's address. It also then checks the internet bitcoin database that the transaction is confirmed or not & sends msg to both B & S.
The confirmation may be 6 or less.

53  Bitcoin / Mining / Using pocblm to mine causes 10-100% CPU usage on: April 20, 2011, 06:53:35 PM
There is a long thread going on with no one can able to answer "why my CPU usage is 10-100% when i mine with GPU?"

I got a hunch that it may be CPU make.
So created this poll.
So far i rarely saw my 10-100% usage of pocblm in my pc.

Please vote which make, Intel or AMD CPU you use in your mining pc/laptop/...
Also, you can post about your complete CPU details with OS details.

EDIT

I forgot to mention one thing, i too once got 15% cpu usage after reinstall. i also installed a software the day i started mining, i think
Granola i already even made a post about it.
Its free. Please try & see if, at least granola reduces cpu usage.

54  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Update blocks in bitcoin client without running bitcoin.exe on: April 20, 2011, 01:46:49 AM
Hi,

I saw the database which holds the number of blocks is keep on growing. When i started it was 60+MB, Now its, 126 & 80 MB files.

I THINK (not sure), that only 2 files, blkindex.dat & blk0001.dat is used to store block information.
Using bitcoin client to download all the new blocks takes time & also network bandwidth.
The network bandwidth is precious & needed for other purposes, not to upload same file to every one.
Also re installation & new user installing makes user to wait some even 20+ hours to download block database.

I created a dropbox & i used a backup software to automatically back up the above 2 files & zip it, to reduce space & upload to my dropbox.
Users just need to download the zip file & extract it to the appdata\roaming\bitcoin in windows 7 & i dont know about other windows version.
Now they get all the blocks instantly & it wont use bitcoin bandwidth.

I will auto backup & zip & upload every 10 hours for now.

My dropbox folder is
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17444737/bitDB20110420_0643am.zip

For trying you can use portable bitcoin client instead of messing with your main bitcoin client. Portable & main have no file connection for you to loose any data/wallet/bitcoins....

Portable edition by bbulker & it works fine.
http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4868.msg71216#msg71216

please try & send feedback.

It seems dropbox won't allow to make a folder public. only the default folder "public" can be shared with anyone & it don't support folders, only files.
Also, i have to manually give the link to download.
If some other software do best please tell.

If you find useful, you can always donate.

57  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Feature request in bitcoin client on: April 15, 2011, 01:32:01 AM
Hi,

I want developers to add a feature, actually its not feature, just simple things.
Need a column showing serial number & very important Must have the option to have GRID lines as in image.
Both in client & address book, as it is hard to look if no labels.

And since there is no grid lines, i still cannot able to count exactly how many bitcoins i took from faucet.

Please in next release add grid lines & serial no. & also another request, make to sort column wise in ascending & descending order as in windows explorer.
Thanks.

EDIT: Serial No. should start from bottom instead of top. The bottom most must be 1, instead of the way i put in pic, i put topmost as 1.
Topmost will always be 1, but every additional transaction changes all the numbers of below transaction & that will instead of use will create mess.
So, if bottom is 1, whatever transaction happens, that particular transaction serial no. will always be same.

60  Bitcoin / Mining / How many graphics cards windows support on: March 22, 2011, 09:57:55 AM
Hi,

I am really confused or don't know what i was.
My question is how many graphic cards windows 7 32 supports, Is 64 bit supports more graphic cards?
or other windows version support more cards?
Or at least which operating supports most graphic cards?
which supports more graphic cards, 32 bit or 64 bit OS?

Also, the graphic cards mean, the number of chips in graphic card or just graphic card itself?

5970 & 6990 have 2 chips, is that mean 2 or 1 for windows or any other OS?

I saw many typed windows only support 4 chips, thats 2 x 5970 or 6990 cards & Linux supports 8 chips, thats 4 x 5970 or 6990.
From where this information came?
I searched internet, but can't able to find number of graphics card an OS supports.

Please some one or more than one, explain me or tell me how many graphics cards an OS supports & also give the link from where you got that information.

I want to build some new mining rigs & confused how many graphic cards can i use in a single pc?

Please me help with your knowledge.
Thanks.
