Today for some odd reasons my share went missing. http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3889.msg88576#msg88576Is there possibility that a pool owner or operator can steal shares those who mine in his/her pool? Also, is there some way some one hack/attack & steal shares of members of a pool? Some one explain.

Did you contact the pool operator before making this thread?

You're overreacting. Software bugs can happen, you know.

Theres already a 3-10% fee on the pool, so i doubt they would steal any, if they did, it'd be a few from each user, so they wouldn't notice..some people are smart, but i doubt anyone 'stole' anything from you.

just pointing that it would be much easier for them to steal shares before they make to statistic engine
i.e. 99% of users wouldn't notice if they were 5% short and it unless you have script that counts shares on your side it is virtually undetectable - can be blamed on faulty mining program, bad internet connection, server downtime etc.
if anyone would steal shares in a way you just described... well i guess they wouldn't risk their 3-10% with something that stupid

only way I see is to have own mining rig in own pool and hide blocks you find while extending time till next block
you can make it transparent for all if you show in real time all stats, but split pool into two pools, one with proportional and one for PPS payment, with separate stats

That is easily detectable via Block Explorer.

Here try this, if you really think they stole from you, drop it, keep refreshing it like you do, but save each page. If it happens again... you have proof(at least for your self, pages can be changed easily). Saying pool owners steal your shares is kinda ridiculous though, you give them shares to make blocks, they are just nice enough to give you some bitcoins in return.

This makes no sense at all. Why would he show you he is stealing shares from you?
In case of software errors, those happen, that's the risk you take. No one is forcing you to mine in a pool. There's definitely no need to make such a fuss about it.
