If EMS tracking says: "received" or "could not be delivered, needs to be picked up" or similar, it's on you: the coin is considered to be delivered at that point.  In case of trouble/dispute I am allowed to publicize the tracking number.  On request, I will publicize the tracking number here in the thread.  Upon receiving the coin, it would be nice if you posted that fact here.

I use this link a lot as it's the best way to see what has recently been happening.

Sadly I have many topics I posted in that I no longer care about, such as newbie topics when I first joined.

Can I remove those topics from this summary?  They really clutter it up.  Every day.
5  Economy / Auctions / Auction: 2011 series 1 Casascius coin on: April 23, 2013, 03:42:57 AM
This is a 2011 series 1 Casascius coin, with mis-spelt hologram, that was sent to me and funded by Casascius in July 2012.  Blockchain link:

Description of Item

You're bidding on exactly the coin shown in the photos.  Note there is a small dark blemish on the edge of the coin, at approximately half-past-one on the side with the hologram.  What might look like scratches on the "B" side of the coin actually form a straight line pattern that casascius designed the coins with.

Auction timing

Auction will end Thursday April 25th 21:00 GMT or 1 hour after the last valid bid was placed, whichever is later.

Placing Bids

You can place your bids by posting in this thread the amount you are bidding in BTC. Please use increments of at least BTC 0.05.  The highest valid bid at the time of auction ending wins the auction. Failure to pay invalidates the bid.

Payment

No escrow. I will post a payment address after the auction ends. You have 48 hours to pay. If you fail to pay your bid is cancelled and the poster of the next-highest bid get's a chance to pay (I will post this).

Shipping

I will be shipping with Japan Post's EMS.  This involves some basic tracking which I will provide to you.  According to the post office it will take from 4-7 business days.  Insurance is optional, if insured I will declare it to have 10% over the BTC value of your bid in USD at the time of mailing, so as to cover for some potential rise in BTC whilst shipping.  This costs you an additional 0.05 BTC.  If uninsured I will declare it to have nominal value of 10 USD.  In either case it will be declared to be a brass coin.

More Details / Rules:

  • I can change the auction rules (not the payment/shipping stuff of course) if I deem that necessary to ensure an orlderly auction
  • If shipping to a domestic address I will use kakidome or whatever the insured domestic version of EMS is
  • If tracking service of Postal service says: "received" or "could not be delivered, needs to be picked up" or similar, it's on you: the coin is considered to be delivered at that point
  • In case of trouble/dispute I am allowed to publicize the tracking number
  • On request, I will publicize the tracking number here in the thread
  • Upon receiving the coin(s), it would be nice if you posted that fact here.

With apologies to molecular for copying the gist of his auction format.

Thank you.
6  Economy / Speculation / icbit.se futures on: March 05, 2013, 08:31:30 AM
Lol, March, April, June and September futures are all cleaned out of offers, presumably all lifted.

Amongst other things, this shows the problem of daily price range limits, particularly if they're only 10%....
