The Situation
In case you don't yet know the story, on November 21, 2012 our father, Gregory Alan Elliott, was arrested, jailed for 3 days, and charged with criminal harassment for essentially disagreeing with, debating, and calling attention to brutal cyber-mobbing campaign lead by a social-media savvy, political operative on Twitter. Two months later, he was charged with two additional counts of criminal harassment by two friends and colleagues of the original complainant. They accused him of also harassing them on Twitter during the same Aug 2012 - Nov 21 2012 time period, but for some reason, only came forward in January 2013. Interestingly enough, after the first two complainants took the stand during trial, the third complainant was pulled by the crown prosecutor literally the morning she was supposed to take the stand herself.
During the course of the trial, as we did our own investigation, lots of information was discovered that led our dad's lawyer, us, and many others to believe that a criminal conspiracy may have been committed to fraudulently charge our dad.
In court the complainants and the OIC admitted that he never said anything threatening or sexual towards them. Yet as a result of these baseless criminal charges, he suffered severe financial, professional, emotional, and psychological devastation. Shortly after getting bail on Friday Nov 23 2012, he was informed that after roughly 17 years working as a graphic designer, he was being fired from his job without cause. He received no official reason for his termination. But the fact that there were articles posted about him with his mugshots in a few prominent Toronto news media (written by admitted friends of the complainants) literally the day and days after he was arrested alleging he was a harasser, it seemed odd that he was fired at this time as well. He was 52 when this happened, and it was likely he would've worked that job until retirement at 67.
To make matters worse, because his bail conditions prohibited him from using the Internet and computers for the duration of the trial, he was unable to use the tools of his trade and has been unemployable since. Too date, he has paid $50,000 in legal fees, and owes roughly $40,000 more that he is unable to pay at this time.
And if this wasn't sad enough, the only reason he was able to cover his living and legal expenses over the last 3 years was because he received and cashed his pension from work. So, he's essentially been spending what was supposed to be his retirement savings on living and legal expenses since.
To say this has been devastating for him and our whole family would be an understatement.

At 22.57 (UTC) we had our last contact with Ship to Gaza’s trawler Marianne of Gothenburg. We were informed that the three military vessels who identified themselves as Israeli navy, has now moved even closer. The distance was estimated to 500 meters. The position was located to 31° 43' North, 32° 33' East, about 105 nautical miles from the destination Gaza city.

What happened:: October 14, 2014 - I paid the then BTC equivilent of $80.37 (taxes included), for a 16mp camera listed on their site. - Immediately after, I called the customer service 800 number and asked why I wasn't able to update my phone number online. The rep claimed my current order was not visible on his system and that I must place a NEW order with the new phone number, if I wanted it updated. As the discusison continued, it was becoming obvious that I was being toyed with, so I promptly told him off while accusing him of using shadey upsell tactics, then hung up. October 15, 2014 - They cancelled the order claiming that it was no longer in stock and that, as per company policy, a store credit or Visa (then Bitpay) gift card would be issued instead. I refused to accept those options and informed them about the consumer protection laws they were violating.  October 18, 2014 - Customer service response.  October 27, 2014 - After much ado about nothing, with regards to our communications over the previous 2 weeks, this slap in the face appeared in my inbox.  - The same camera reappeared, as "in store only".  November 4, 2014 - The Visa gift card has become a Bitpay gift certificate/card.  November 16, 2014 - NO respect for the customer what so ever.  November 17, 2014 - Another fake delivery notice. After recently learning about LTC pools merge mining DOGE, I couldn't help but wonder .. How easy would it be for a greedy (insert your coin here) pool operator to mine blocks on any blockchain of his/her choosing ? And not tell you. Could this be how so many shitcoins are able to achieve such high hashrates at launch ? This has the potential to become the biggest and longest running scam, dwarfing GOX and/or BFL. |

Additional Notes: When muddafudda approached me about setting me up with my own alt, he insisted that he would remain anonymous, thus not wanting anyone to associate him with this coin. He also bragged about having many coins with 'candygirls' acting as devs. Uses the name Memecoin, when using the Cryptsy troll box.
