1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / ETC and ETH fork on Poloniex on: May 09, 2017, 02:29:28 PM
I realize I'm a little late to this party, but earlier last year I had purchased pre-fork ETH on Poloniex. Its been months since i had logged in, but I recently done so expecting to have ETC and post-fork ETH in my account.  Instead I only found ETC.  I looked through the transaction history of the account and don't see anything suspicious.  I've attempted to contact Poloniex support several times over the last two weeks and have had no response from them.  Watching the price of ETH double during this time I've gone ahead and exchanged my ETC for ETH.

First, is my assumption correct that I should have both ETH and ETC in my account?  2nd, is there any other way to contact Poloniex support other than their online ticket system?

Thanks,
-Rob
2  Economy / Securities / BTCMC share price down nearly 40% this week. on: August 16, 2012, 11:38:20 PM
Wow, what's been going on with BTCMC this week, and today especially?  Huge wall of sell orders with no buyers.  Price has dropped from the high 70s down to 50 over the last couple of days.

Possibly because the dividend yield isn't as high as with other mining operations?

5  Economy / Securities / [GLBSE] First Silver Futures on GLBSE [SLV-BUFFALO] on: July 20, 2012, 08:55:06 PM
I'm going to go ahead and give this a go and see what the actual interest is.  I will be offering the first silver bullion contract on GLBSE.
I realize that the price of these contracts' value compared to the stocks and bonds that are trading on GLBSE, as well as the low contract count (I'll be offering 8 contracts) will limit the liquidity of the contracts, and I am open to suggestions on how to possibly improve this moving forward.

I'm targeting an IPO date of Friday 7/27.

6  Economy / Securities / [GLBSE] Gauging interest in silver/gold bullion futures on: July 13, 2012, 10:54:22 PM
Hi All,

for a while a few years ago when bullion prices had been crushed I was buying silver and gold coins/bars in bulk and then selling in smaller lots on eBay
 (ebay id black-swan-bullion )
http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=black-swan-bullion&ftab=AllFeedback&seeallfeedback=See%20All%20Feedback&myworld=true).

I am trying to gauge if there would be any interest in futures contracts that were settled in physical gold or silver bullion traded on GLBSE.  The futures contract would settle in a specific bullion type, ie one 2012 1/10oz Gold American Eagle, and the price would include expedited shipping and insurance costs within the US to the holder of the futures contract on the specified expiration date.

One could hold the futures contract as a way to speculate on the price of gold relative to BTC, selling before expiration if they didn't want to take delivery of the underlying bullion product.  Or by holding until expiration, the owner would take delivery, in effect purchasing bullion with Bitcoins similar to how Coinabul.com sells.  However, looking at Coinabul BTC prices for their products I think that I could beat them by a few percentage points based on the quotes I received from some of the larger bullion dealers I've worked with, in addition to giving people the chance to speculate and actively trade the BTC to gold and BTC to silver rates without having to take delivery of the products if they so chose.

Anyway, I'm interested in hearing opinions.

Thanks!

I am getting the above message on one of my mining rigs, with a lot of disconnects to the mining pool as well (see below).

I've read on other posts that this could be an availability issue with the pool's servers so I've tried both BTCGuild and BitClockers pool, with the same results.  The strange thing is that I have another rig pointing at BTCGuild and it seems to be running just fine.

Any ideas?
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Any Bitcoin-related software developers going to JavaOne / Oracle OpenWorld? on: September 02, 2011, 11:36:55 PM
Just wondering if any software devs doing bitcoin related work will be down in SFO next month for JavaOne / Oracle OpenWorld?  Would nice to get together and chat with others doing development on bitcoin software projects.
9  Other / Meta / Forum for Exchange API software development on: August 24, 2011, 02:02:46 PM
I would like to suggest an "Exchange API development" child forum could be added under the Project Development Forum.  It currently seems like posts for automating trading of BTC on the various exchanges as well as developing software utilizing the exchange APIs is all over the place on this forum, and it would be nice if the software developers and active BTC traders had a separate child board to converse.

How can we go about doing this?

Thanks,
-Rob
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Did TradeHill change their SSL certificate? on: August 19, 2011, 05:23:41 AM
Safari is now telling me it doesn't trust the ssl certificate on the TradeHill and my java API application is telling me that it doesn't recognize the Root certificate. I've sent a query to TradeHill tech support but was wondering if anyone else has noticed any issues.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / phoenix/phatk not finding 3rd GPU (SOLVED) on: August 04, 2011, 01:56:06 PM
<Solution>
The issue was that I was running version 2.1 of AMD's SDK which wasn't seeing my 6800 card.  I installed version 2.4 and all 3 cards are working now.

I'm running Ubuntu and attempting to get my 3 cards up and running. All 3 cards show up in aticonfig and also with lspci commands, but when attempting to launch phoenix with the 3rd GPU it says it can't find the device and only lists 2 of the 3 GPUs.  I've looked through the forum and none of the posts found so far seem to provide a solution to my problem in particular.  Any ideas?

Thanks!

12  Economy / Trading Discussion / Historical Price data on: August 02, 2011, 08:36:07 PM
Does anyone know where historical price data at the daily level can be obtained from?  I was looking at bitcoincharts.com, but it looks like their history only goes back a few days.

Any help would be appreciated.
13  Economy / Trading Discussion / Any active BTC traders? on: August 02, 2011, 06:55:46 AM
Curious to hear how many active traders are on this board and which exchange(s) you trade with and how many trades per day or week you make?  What trading platforms do you use, ie exchange website, 3rd party app, mobile app, etc. and what, in your opinion is currently missing from this space that would help you with the process of analyzing market data as well as placing your trades.

I'm a software developer who has been writing stock/futures trading related software for trading my own account for the last 8 years, and I would like to see tools for Bitcoin trading that provide similar features to those found in the stock and commodity markets in an effort to help increase liquidity on the exchanges, in turn helping bring down the transaction costs for consumers and merchants who rely on these exchanges to convert their funds to/from BTC as a course of their business.

Looking forward to hearing your replies.
14  Other / Beginners & Help / Anybody doing automated trading using the MtGox or TradeHill APIs? on: July 15, 2011, 06:13:46 PM
Just curious if anyone out there is doing any automated trading on the Mt. Gox or TradeHill exchanges, and if so what are they're experiences have been.

I write software to trade in the stock/futures markets, and have thought about tinkering with an automated trading application for the bitcoin exchanges.

Would appreciate hearing other people's thoughts.

Thanks!

15  Other / Beginners & Help / Trouble getting phoenix up and running on: July 14, 2011, 09:09:35 AM
Hi all,

trying to get my first mining rig set up and followed the instructions at:
http://forum.bitcoin.org/?topic=7514.0 for the 2.4 SDK
I was able to get through all the steps except for installing python-jsonrpc as their SVN server is not responding at the moment, and from what I've been able to find, that piece may not even be needed anymore.

However, when I attempt to run phoenix or poclbm I get the following error.

X Error of failed request:  BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation)
Major opcode of failed request:  159 ()
Minor opcode of failed request:  19
Serial number of failed request:  8
Current serial number in output stream:  8

I'm running ubuntu 11.04.

Any help/pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
-Rob
