Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Bitcoin Core v27.0 Error reading from database
|
on: April 18, 2024, 06:59:38 PM
|
Hi all,
I am having issues with starting my Bitcoin Core wallet on a Windows. I keep getting error stating: Error reading from database.
I've tried to uninstall and reinstall different BC version, still the same error and the wallet won't start. It was previously fully synced.
At the bottom of the debug log, it shows LevelDB error: Corruption block checksum mismatch: F:\Bitcoin\chainstate/3348075.ldb.
From reading on a couple of other posts with similar problem, it looks like the recommendation was to save the wallet.dat and delete and restart everything.
My question is, is it possible to delete the 3348075.ldb from the chainstate folder and restart from there? Would that help minimize having to resync the entire blockchain again?
Thank you.

Bitcoin / Pools / Mining Pool for testnet bitcoin
|
on: October 02, 2023, 05:51:17 PM
|
Hey all,
So I've tried to set up my own pool but no luck. So I've decided that maybe if I can use a public testnet for mining btc, then that would be a better option to mine tBTC. Does anyone have the info on a pool that I can use to mine solo tBTC? Thanks.

Hi all,
Does anyone have a guide to mining testnet btc? I prefer a larger amount of btc instead of the typical drip from faucet. Thanks.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Bitcoin Core Conf File
|

Hey guys. I was just curious if most people actually modify their .conf file. Do you set a limit on the connection? Do you set up rpc info? I was thinking of connecting it to a Ledger device. Any neat ideas on that? Thoughts?

Bitcoin / Hardware / Have you tried replacing the SSD in your umbrel Bitcoin Machine?
|
on: June 11, 2022, 05:10:16 PM
|
Just curious if anyone has attempted to replace the SSD that is inside the Bitcoin Machine. The umbrel device came with either a 1TB or 2TB option. But I was just curious if anyone has attempted to upgrade their device yet? Sounds like you just have to remove the case and simply replace your 1TB with a higher capacity SSD.

Bitcoin / Mining / Temperature sensors for the Mining Box
|
on: March 07, 2022, 03:48:33 AM
|
Hello BTC. So I have a soundproof box for one of my Antminers. I am looking to get some temperature sensors for the box. Basically, I am looking for a sensor device that can be place in the inlet and outlet of the box and have the signal send to an app on my iphone. Looking to get alerts on peak temperatures in the event of an overheat or a fire. Price is important also. Any suggestion would be much appreciated. Some of the devices that I've seen come with battery on the device itself which won't work on the exhaust side.
Thanks.

Bitcoin / Mining / Donating Hashrate via Slushpool
|
on: February 27, 2022, 03:43:52 AM
|
Hey guys,
I am hoping to get some technical or at least a bit better understanding with mining pool. Slushpool is allowing miners to donate their hashrate to a country that is in need of help. I am trying to understand if by donating your hashrate to the address that Slushpool has provided, how anonymous is this whole process?
My understanding is that if you're not configured with VPN then you're not truly mining anonymously. But since you're not sending your BTC directly, the transaction is not recorded in the blockchain either correct? Since you're donating your hashrate to a dedicated pool provided by Slushpool, is there anyway, other than from Slushpool themselves, for anyone to actually see that your particular Antminer is being used to donate to that cause?
Thanks.

Bitcoin / Mining support / How to set up solo mining with asic
|
on: January 19, 2022, 08:52:04 PM

Hello BTC
Can anyone walk me through the solo mining process? I can't seem to get it to work. I was using the stratum from CKPOOL but the pool kept showing up as dead. Is there another way to do it?

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Node is slowing down syncing
|
on: January 19, 2022, 07:03:44 PM
|
Hello BTC
So my node is currently 96.65% synced but the rate that it syncs up is slowing down. It is showing 2 weeks and it has taken a whole week to get where it is. In the past with previous node, it took maybe 1.5 day to go from initial block to fully synced. How do I determine if the ISP is blocking it? Also, is there a way to add more peers in the console? Every time it slows down syncing, I would restart the node. But even now it's slowing down a lot. My speed test is showing slower than usual although not at an abnormal rate and I do have a lot of connected devices. Currently showing Received at 7MB and Sent at 4kb with 3 peers. I don't have a bandwidth cap but I'm wondering if the ISP is up to something to slow it down. I do have other nodes operating too like the Bitcoin Machine etc.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / How to access wallet.dat from a previous wallet
|
on: January 19, 2022, 05:48:14 PM
|
Hey everyone
How do I access the old BTCcore wallet.dat? I was operating a previous node then I ran out of space on that disk so I can't run that node to access that wallet. Can I simply create a new wallet in the new node and transfer the wallet.dat into the new wallet folder? Another word, can I just replace the new wallet.dat with the old wallet.dat? The new node is fully synced.
Thanks BTC
