3  Other / Off-topic / The psychological effect of Orphans on: February 22, 2022, 12:11:49 PM
Most orphans have been affected in one way or the other either physiologically or socially. Many orphan children find it difficult to relate because of the death of their families which leads to sadness, helplessness, anger and also depression.
Most adopted parents lacks information or ways on how to handle most children emotionally and also most school teachers lack the knowledge on how to identify psychology problem and how to go about it.

Therefore adopting parents and school teachers should be trained and counsel on how to manage psychological and social problems before they are grant or qualify for Adoption.

4  Other / Beginners & Help / Flat to crypto at a Bitcoin ATM on: February 21, 2022, 10:58:29 PM
What is Fiat to Crypto?
“Fiat to crypto” means buying cryptocurrency with fiat money … so, for example, buying Bitcoin with USD.
The reason this is even a thing is because a few years ago, many online trading platforms only allowed you to trade crypto for crypto. So if you had Bitcoin you could trade it for Litecoin, or if you had Litecoin you could trade it for Ether. But you couldn’t just buy Ether or Litecoin with USD.
There were a few basic exchanges with limited options that let you buy bitcoin only, but you would have to transfer that bitcoin to a crypto-to-crypto platform (which often took days) if you wanted to own any altcoins. So when more advanced online exchanges were built, they would boast the “fiat to crypto” exchange possibilities as a feature that set them apart.
While that seems a little surprising now — because, after all, Bitcoin ATMs have always offered a fiat-to-crypto solution — that’s how the online world used to work. One platform to purchase and another platform to trade.

Fiat to Crypto at a Bitcoin ATM
As hinted, Bitcoin ATMs have always used the fiat-to-crypto model. And a few (like 20%) also allow crypto to fiat, like Coin Cloud machines do. We’ll talk about that more tomorrow.
But whatever way you slice it, the fastest and easiest way to turn fiat to crypto is at a Bitcoin ATM. You just insert your cash, scan your mobile wallet and you own bitcoin or your choice of 30 altcoins. Oh, wait, that part is just Coin Cloud machines too. Most brands only give a few choices, if any.
You can find the nearest Coin Cloud DCM to you with the online locator map, or through the Coin Cloud Wallet app.

5  Other / Off-topic / Lionel Messi's relationship with PSG questioned as superstar described as a club on: February 21, 2022, 03:42:35 PM
LIONEL MESSI'S sensational Barcelona exit hasn't entirely gone to plan this season.

Former Paris Saint-Germain winger Jerome Rothen has described Lionel Messi as a 'burden' on the club amid a lacklustre debut season in France. Messi's sensational free transfer from Barcelona last summer hasn't gone entirely according to the script so far.

Messi recorded his latest disappointing display in PSG's late 1-0 win over Real Madrid in the Champions League last Tuesday.

The 34-year-old missed a penalty at the Parc des Princes but was bailed out by Kylian Mbappe's brilliance in the 94th minute.

He has scored just two goals in 15 Ligue 1 games, and cameras picked up PSG midfielder Danilo Pereira visibly frustrated with his lack of effort to backtrack after losing the ball during the tight affair.

It was potentially a sign of widespread annoyance that Messi doesn't pull his weight whilst the Parisiens are defending, which could cost them in the latter stages of the Champions League.

Messi, Neymar and Mbappe came under fire in both of PSG's group-stage games against Manchester City as Mauricio Pochettino's defence was often overrun.
And Rothen has aimed criticism at Messi for his general form since arriving in France, labelling the transfer a 'bad idea'.

He said: "He is a burden for the club. His first months have not been good, and the relationship between Lionel Messi and PSG has been far from a success. This transfer was a bad idea.

Because the Messi I knew back then in Barcelona is not the Messi in PSG.

Where is the real Messi now?

6  Other / Off-topic / Clipboard hacking on: February 21, 2022, 10:34:49 AM
What is clipboard hacking?
The good news is that clipboard hacking does not mean you now need to be suspicious of people bearing clipboards. The bad news is that it is a genuine and insidious method for stealing your crypto.

As they are hexadecimal (base16) and are many characters long, crypto wallet addresses do not lend themselves to being memorised or typed in manually, just as you would type in an email or username.

Enter copy and paste, the unsung hero of crypto transactions. Many wallets and exchanges, including MetaMask, include built-in 'copy' or 'copy to clipboard' shortcuts that allow you to copy your wallet address with a single click. These features smooth the process of pasting into a third-party site to which you may be transferring tokens, for example.

Clipboard hacking exploits the copy and paste function to rob you. Rather than relying on users' inexperience or exploiting their trust, malicious actors will create and disseminate malware.

Once this malware has infected your computer, most likely hidden within a seemingly innocuous download, it will automatically intercept your clipboard, scan for crypto addresses, and, if it identifies one, replace it with their own. So by the time you hit paste, your address has been replaced, and you will be about to send your transaction to the hacker(s).

Naturally, as blockchain transactions are irreversible, there is no way to retrieve your funds once they are sent.

How can I protect myself?

A logical first port of call is to ensure you have robust anti-malware software installed, and keep it updated. Your software should identify most potential clipboard hacking malware programs, notify you, and quarantine them before they can affect your crypto activity.

However, since there is a possibility that your anti-malware software may not detect the program, the only way to be safe is to double- and triple-check addresses before you confirm any transaction. Some hardware wallets may prompt you to do this anyway, but as transactions are irreversible, it is a worthwhile habit to adopt.

7  Economy / Trading Discussion / Words of advice on: February 20, 2022, 07:44:18 PM
Never trust anyone who says you won something. Don't connect your wallet to the fake pancake swap or any other shady  website. Only use the contract address straight from the real  website, yes,  Never store your seed phrases in your phone. Turn off dapps, make sure you disconnect your wallet from pancake swap after you are done using it. Never sell or send coins that just show up in your wallet. Never trust airdrops, Never give out your seed phrases, even to family, just put it in your will incase you die. Never tell people what is in your wallet, you may become a person the hackers and scammers focus on. Never trust anyone online, including any of the advice I am giving you. Turn on transaction signing and password.

9  Other / Beginners & Help / what is the difference between Bitcoin and Gold? on: February 20, 2022, 09:15:52 AM
in my own understanding some of the differences between Bitcoin and gold are:

1: Gold  are used in industrial application

Bitcoin are used in underlying technology
      such as block chain

2: Gold are stored as in a vault and on a safety
     deposit box.
                                 while

3: Existence; Gold has been in existence
      before Bitcoin.

4: in time of buying and selling or exchange:

                             while

5: Gold can be faked while Bitcoin can not be
     faked.

6: Gold can be used in making different
      items .
                                 while

10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / what gives Bitcoin it value? on: February 20, 2022, 08:24:57 AM
in my own understanding about what gives Bitcoin it value I think it because of it higher demand in the society in the sense that the more Bitcoin is been mined and  the more it been wanted by people, the higher the value becomes. therefore Bitcoins value lies in it scarcity and increasing demand.

if the price of one Bitcoin where to reach 514,000, Bitcoin market capitalization would reach approximately 15% of the global currency market.

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / why are there so many coins and the reason why some developers failed on: February 19, 2022, 09:22:16 AM
I believe developers saw the the vision of Bitcoin and try to explore from the vision  by introducing and making their own coin but they lost focus because they only have one goal in mind which is making money, forgetting the most vital ingredients in developing an asset. They forget that they are certain steps and strategies to undergo before accomplishing a good assets or goal.

Some of the reasons why I think some developers fail is because:

1. Lack of funding both the starting aspect and the launching aspect (lack of money to continue)
2. Failure in out righting frauds
3. Failure to evolve especially when the coin initially start bomming

Most developers have only one vision which is making money that is why many coins doesn't grow and they failed because they didn't see the vision ahead.
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Few lessons learned from my past to keep up with crypto on: February 18, 2022, 09:57:43 PM
I have really learn alot and continues to learn even more from my mistakes in crypto currency, especially the trading and investment accept. I've come to realize that in life, for you to become what ever you want, you must go through the ups and down of a trade or field and you must be a risk taker. I believe without my experience, I won't be able to understand more about crypto currency.
some of the lessons I've learned so far are:

1. Never be in a hurry
2. Have the spirit of holding
3. Never give up
4. Never be discouraged
5. Always trade with the right platform
6. Always trade with the rules of crypto ( escrow, never Invest what you can  afford to lose)
7. Never have the spirit of fear: fear is the number one key of failure.

13  Other / Beginners & Help / When I first heard of Bitcoin and How it scared me on: February 18, 2022, 04:00:43 PM
When I first heard of bitcoin was in the year 2019. I didn't know much about crypto then, I just felt it was something that will just come and go like the many other schemes in the past. I never knew it was already in existence since 2009. One of the drives that moves people is to make money obviously and making it through some new innovations always feels like the best way and so, my time of change came. It came through a news in my neighbourhood of a guy who had just cashed out $2000 from Bitcoin.

Like every other human, I developed interest. I suddenly felt the need to know everything about Bitcoin, how it works, the trading accept, the mining accept and so on. At that time, I had a friend that had tried on so many counts and on different occasions to tall me into making some crypto or Bitcoin investment. I placed a call to him and told him of my interest in Bitcoin. That I would like to learn more and buy some Bitcoin as well. He then directed me to get a wallet (Trust Wallet), gave me instructions on how to create or set it up, extract my wallet and so on. I also fund my wallet that same day and went on social media like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, telegram, google and more in search of instruction materials and informations on Bitcoin.

Along the line, I saw an investment platform on telegram. They had different packages to pick out an investment and based on my finance level, I was comfortable with the investment package that did cut across depositing a $200 and earn $2500 in 24hours. I also saw many testimonies from other users on how they have been successful credited. It felt too good to be true but as a novice, I found it interesting and had to give it a trier. I chatted with the admin, he sent me the site and I went through it, filled up the forms and then deposited $10 worth on on the platform to be swapped for Bitcoin. Afterwards, I chatted the admin up to inform him of my successful deposit, he asked on how much I did deposited and I replied $10. He instructed that I should drop my wallet address for refund that the, minimum is $200. I dropped my wallet address and I was refunded my $10 initial deposit. At this point of a possible refund, I debeloped trust and also concluded that the platform was real then, I deposited $300 on the platform. Still referenced my my wallet address for my earning. I chatted the admin again that I have made the payment, he said I should wait for 24hours I will be credited once it 24 hours. I was excited and 24hours wasn't so much time so, I had to wait it out.

When it was time, I went to check my wallet and it wasn't credited, I went back to telegram where I found the platform and realised that, I had been removed. When i tried to chat with the admin, I couldn't find him and the chat we had together had been cleared and also deleted me.
This was the point I realised that, I had been scammed and its an experience I promised myself not to go through for a second time. It almost killed my zeal to learn but, you can't go traditional on a growing or new world order. This is the more reason why I'm very focused on learning at this point. A friend referred me to this platform recently and that it is a discussion platform on all things crypto. I'm open to learning, I'll like to know more as you guys do and then would like some correcting too when I'm wrong. Thank you.
