1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Is there any benefit of bitcoin to the government? on: April 21, 2023, 03:26:48 PM
Bitcoin has benefits to us, it is why we speak positive about it and support it because if bitcoin was in no way of benefit to us, supporting it will be difficult maybe like the government. Maybe we have all been selfish and just been discussing the benefits that bitcoins have offered us and not how it has also benefitted the government too. Is the government a part of the benefit list of bitcoins, is there any benefit that bitcoin offers to the government? If your answer is "no benefit", do you think that it could be a reason why the government do not support bitcoin? If your answer is "yes, but not enough benefit", do you think they are just ignoring the benefits to them and focusing more on the benefits to the people which is making them angry?

2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Can this be effective against the increasing numbers of gamblers? on: April 13, 2023, 07:56:23 PM
Quote

The Premier League have confirmed clubs have voluntarily agreed to remove gambling sponsors from the front of their matchday shirts from the start of the 2025/26 season.

This is a move to try to reduce promotion of gambling in the premier league with it's increasing audience, do you think it can successfully reduce the number of people who gamble? What do you think? Will these gambling platforms not just move to other sports, do you think other sports that wear their sponsors name in England will adopt this new development in the premier league?

3  Economy / Trading Discussion / Early Profit can be misleading. on: March 29, 2023, 05:07:28 PM
Should newbie traders be only concerned about making profit? I do not think so.

I feel that every newbie trader should first be concerned about fully understanding trading regardless of if they make profit or not at the beginning of their trading life. A newbie trader who enjoys profits mostly during his early life as a trader may be misled to begin to think that he has cracked the code to trading and will continue making profits. Newbie traders who experience some kind of losses at the early stage of their life but still continue in trading know better how trading can be, and because of the early experience that they have had, they are at a position of becoming much better traders than those that enjoyed easy profit at the beginning which can be misleading. What do you think, let us discuss?
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Legal side to promoting bitcoin. on: March 24, 2023, 05:19:08 PM
You can get in trouble with the SEC as a forum member with celebrity status for promoting cryptocurrency on your social media, but not in trouble with them for promoting just bitcoins. There is a scary SEC rule- that
Quote
it is unlawful for any person to publish or give publicity to crypto assets without disclosing the amount they were paid for the promotion.
but I think this rule applies to "securities" and since the SEC considers bitcoin a "commodity",
Quote
U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Gary Gensler has reiterated his claim that bitcoin (BTC) is a commodity.
I do not think it is applicable.  source

Jake Paul, Lil Yachty, Soulja Boy, Ne-Yo, Akon, Austin Mahone, Lindsay Lohan and Kendra Lust got into trouble for promoting Tronix (TRX) tokens a securities offered by Tron Foundation Limited. (News report)

Paul Pierce from the NBA got into trouble for promoting EMAX tokens, a securities offered and sold by EthereumMax. EthereumMax does not have any relationship with Ethereum. (News report)

Kim Kardarshian got into trouble for promoting Ethereum Max tokens (News report)

Floyd Mayweather and DJ Khaled got into trouble for promoting ICO's. (News report)

Do you know any celebrity that has gotten in trouble for promoting bitcoins?
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Could there be any importance and need for some kind of mild regulations? on: March 22, 2023, 06:30:18 AM
Could there be any importance and need for some kind of mild regulations? Knowing how things can get out of hand when everyone is left to do as they please, don't you think that the freedom and anonymity from bitcoin will be really abused when accepted and adopted for use even more than some people do now? I have been thinking that why we really fear the centralized system is not because we detest the idea of control, but because we do not trust the people who are in control, do you agree with me? If there had not been any reason to not trust the people in control, the idea of a decentralized system will never have been.
6  Economy / Trading Discussion / Can old trading strategies work again? on: March 20, 2023, 07:51:32 PM
Thinking about how trading strategies need to always be changed and how one strategy may not work for a long time, what do you do with the strategy that you are about to change. do you just forget about it completely once a new strategy starts working for you? or do you keep it in remembrance for the future. If you have experienced this before; has any old trading strategy that you decided to apply work for you? Is it possible that old strategies may work in the future again?
7  Economy / Trading Discussion / Will you advice a new trader to join a trading community or group? on: March 18, 2023, 05:30:46 PM
As a trader, things can get difficult and discouraging if you cannot relate with any other person who will have a good understanding of what you are saying concerning trading, to solve that challenge, are you part of any trading community or group that you share tips and new strategies? What other ways can you say you have benefited from being in a community asides sharing of tips and strategies. Are you doing better than when you did things on your own. Can there be any major disadvantage being a member of such a trading groups? What is your advice to people?
8  Economy / Economics / less risk or big profit? on: March 11, 2023, 08:26:31 PM
In some conversations that I have had with some rich people who are old, they most times always say that they invested in real estate and that was how they made some fortune. Young people understand that investing is key and paramount to securing a better future like these Old rich men did then, But the question now is what exactly to invest in for young people. Is it wise to follow in the steps of the old rich men who had investments in Real Estate, or do they completely now invest in cryptocurrency? The answer is sometimes traced to the one that offers the lowest risk and loss of capital.

The less riskier from Real Estate and cryptocurrency is Real Estate, but less risk,, less reward. The risk that come with the higher volatility of cryptocurrency makes the profit that can be gotten bigger. Will you go for less risk, or big profit?

11  Economy / Long-term offers / Looking For Investers To Fund My BTCJam Loan Of 17.81037200BTC on: August 03, 2013, 07:54:14 PM
I need this loan for tuition. The link for more informations is https://btcjam.com/listings/6210

Here is the description for my loan as well.
"I need about $1,700 worth of bitcoins to pay my college tuition. I plan on making 3-4 early payments the month of August because I have a job.

I need this loan because my college moved the due date for tuition to a date 4 weeks early. I didn't anticipate this, and thus I don't have enough money saved up. I can easily pay this back and plan on doing it early."

Note
Please help a fellow bitcoineer go back to college. I'm having financial trouble, and if I don't go back for a year, I'll have a ton of debt and no education to show for it.

18  Economy / Goods / Awesome T-shirts from Babbletees.com on: January 29, 2012, 01:20:53 AM
I just made a 10 shirt order from http://babbletees.refr.cc/F8CW81 (anyone using that link get's 30% off) with bitcoins. I love this website! Check it out people.

Benefits:
-Great selection
-Very beautiful and artistic shirts
-They accept bitcoins as well as other traditional payments
-They seem to give out discounts all willy nilly so don't be too shy to ask if you're making a large purchase.
-30% off with this link http://babbletees.refr.cc/F8CW81 They gave it to me for making a purchase. Pretty awesome advertising technique. Let me know via post here when someone uses it so I can remove it. Feel free to post your discount links here as well.

Complaints:
-You don't get the Bitcoin quote right away, you have to confirm the purchase and wait on a quote.
-Bitcoin transactions seem to be processed manually. I made my purchase earlier today and I'm still waiting on a quote.
-Your order could take up to 17 business days for US orders and 27 business days for international orders.
-No clear "We Accept Bitcoins" sign.

Be sure to give them some feedback about their payment system. It's a bit lacking on the automation and convenience. I already let them know but I'm sure the more people critique, the sooner it'll change.

So get out there ladies and gentlemen and support an awesome business that is accepting bitcoins.

19  Bitcoin / Mining support / 2x6970's Crashing Repeatedly with GUIMiner on: December 31, 2011, 01:48:10 AM
I'm trying to mine with two MSI Radeon 6970 Lightning Editions and my computer GSOD's after 5-10 seconds of starting the miner. The crash is consistent.

-The Cards are getting about 800 mhash/s total. I love it. Cheesy

-I'm using GUIMiner with 2 separate OpenCL miners for my two MSI Radeon 6970 Lightning Editions.

-My flag is -v for both OpenCL miners.

How do I stop this? Sad
