1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Missing addresses after restore on: November 14, 2023, 09:38:00 PM
Hello,

I would like to understand better the restore process of a wallet on a node.

To give a bit of context, i had only one wallet on a bitcoin node with multiples addresses (almost 30).
I re-import this wallet from the "importprvkey" method and all works fine my wallet was restored.

This issue is I lost all the addresses except the main address of this wallet. For example i send a transaction to one the addresses i had before the import and i cannot list the transactions for this address my node telling me that is cannot retrieve from this address.

My question is : How to restore a wallet including all the addresses i had created in the past ?

Thank you for help !

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Metamask - Ledger Technical Question on: August 22, 2023, 09:11:55 PM
Hello Everyone,

First of all i'm sorry because my question is a bit related to Ethereum but not only Smiley

I have a Ledger and the other day i tried to buy some token from the Gnosis Chain to be sent directly to my Ledger (from the RealT website if someone knows).
Gnosis Chain is sidechain from Ethereum.

The Gnosis Chain is not supported by Ledger for the moment so when i tried to link my Ethereum address to the website i received an error (because the website checked that the wallet is connected to Gnosis Chain network)

So for the moment is quiet normal i would like to say !

To bypass this i found a solution :
  • 1. Create a Metamask wallet
  • 2. Import my Ledger into Metamask
  • 3. Add the blockchain network Gnosis Chain in Metamask
  • 4. Select the Gnosis Chain just added to be active

After i can now add the metamask address where my Ledger Ethereum adress is presents (because i just imported it) and this seems to work (the website accept this).
(The ETH address doesn't change. It still the same when the website refused it above)

My questions are :

  • 1. How Metamask can send token to a ledger address that normally is not supported by Ledger ?
  • 2. How Ledger can receive theses tokens if it's supposed to not support this blockchain ?

If i was not clear don't hesitate to ask me more informations.

Thank you guys !
3  Economy / Trading Discussion / How exchange determine flat fee on: September 19, 2022, 09:34:27 PM
Hello everyone,

I have a question and i know that you have the answer Grin

I noticed that exchange like Binance for example apply a withdrawal flat fee of 0.0002 BTC (≈ 3-4 USD).
I was wondering how they determine this amount because network fee is not fixed.

For example if tomorrow the network has lot of activities maybe the average of fee will be something like ≈30 USD so transaction with 0.0002 could take days to be completed.
So if this scenario is during for weeks they will update they fee manually ? Maybe they have a periodic review (each quarter ?) of flat fee ?

Thanks for you answers !

4  Local / Discussions générales et utilisation du Bitcoin / [AIDE] Workflow des API Bitcoin on: June 19, 2022, 08:24:25 PM
Bonjour a tous,

5  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / [HELP] Workflow of Bitcoin API on: June 19, 2022, 08:12:41 PM
Hello everyone,

I'm new in this forum and also in the bitcoin world.
I'm really happy to join this community that's why i have some questions.

I'm developper and i love discovering how bitcoin works in the technical part.

To do that i have installed the bitcoin software in a virtual machine and became a node at the same time  Grin

I have create some transactions on the testnet network and for the moment thats works nice BUT i'm sure that's what i did is really correct  Huh

So i would like to know if someone have some workflow/schemas to share that's explain all the interactions with methods to for example :
         - create a transaction
         - specify fees on a transaction
         - retrieve transactions with status for a specific address

By the way i also saw the "vout" fields when i call "listunspent" method but i don't know what it is. If someone can explain this please  Cheesy

Thanks you very much !
Have a nice day !
